Allstate - Allstate Quote: Questions
I ran the same quote three times and I keep getting different numbers.
One quote said $300, the other said $330 and then I get an email saying it’s $196.

State Farm - Auto Insurance Claim
Just wondering if anyone else has dealt with this. Recently was in an accident which I was not at fault. I have a luxury vehicle that was fully paid for. State Farm totaled my vehicle. My issue is the amount they want to settle my claim for is substantially less than what I think it should be or was expecting. Do I have to accept that? Is my only recourse to file a lawsuit? I live in Wyoming BTW. Thanks for any help or advice!
old insurance company - Suspended Permit, Insurance Issue, Court Coming Up Lawyer or Public Defender?
So a state trooper pulled me over the other day because my license plates were suspended. Turns out my old insurance company didn’t notify the MVA when I switched providers, so the plates got flagged.
The trooper asked for my license — I only have a learner’s permit — and I handed it over, along with my passenger’s license since he has a full one. When the trooper came back, he told me that my permit was suspended and then took it from me.
I went to the MVA and paid a $400 fine for the plates, and while I was there, they told me my permit was suspended because I never completed a Driver Improvement Program (DIP) from two years ago. Thing is — I actually did complete it.
I called the driving school, and they admitted they forgot to submit the completion to the MVA. They basically just said “sorry,” but now I’ve got a court date, and the letter says there’s a possibility of jail time.
Now I’m freaking out. I’ve got about $1,000 to my name. Should I try to hire a lawyer, or go with a public defender? I really don’t want to risk going to jail over something like this.

Anthem - Anthem Pre-Authorization
After a surgery consultation, my doctor submitted a pre authorization request to my insurance, Anthem (North Carolina). I believed it had been sent on March 17th, so I called my insurance to check the status last Friday. However, there was no record of any pre-authorization being sent. This turned into the insurance calling the office, and they confirm it was sent March 24th (so it is confirmed by both the office and the insurance rep who called). Now today, I called to make sure the information had been updated, and that the pre-authorization had officially been received. Once again, they say there is zero record of any pre authorization. This is my first time having to go through this process, and I'm just super confused. I know the expected date to hear back is within 15 days, but I at least thought the request would be on file. I don't want to have to call again, but I'm getting worried that the request won't show up in the Anthem system. Plus I can't schedule surgery until this is approved, and I need it done this summer so the longer this takes the more nerve wracking it is.
Basically, is it normal for my insurance to have no record of this pre-authorization request 14 days after it was sent?
PETS BEST - PETS BEST shady customer service experience
Spoke with a woman who would not directly answer any of my questions. I asked how long until they cover a CURABLE pre existing condition such as a UTI for a cat which is a common thing some cats deal with and she went on and on and on about broken bones and all this other nonsense. I tried to steer her back to the original question several times and she just couldn’t stay on topic. I don’t know if she was on something or what her deal was but it was very weird. She didn’t want to give me a direct answer.
I finally asked to speak with a supervisor. She put me on hold for several minutes and came back and said no one was available. Then she message the supervisor with my question, the supervisor just answered it directly. Imagine that. I asked a question and they just answered it. I told her thank you and that was the question I was trying to get an answer to. She said I should have told her that lol. I tried to explain how this can be frustrating and a little suspicious to a pet parent that’s trying to get info. I explained that it is as if she was working me a little. Like she was saying words without answering the question and talking in circles. I would ask a question and she would answer it as if I asked another question. Very sales pitchy. It was very bizarre to say the least. She then started raising her voice and talking over me so at that point I told her to have a nice day.
If you are also curious, there is no amount of time after a cat gets a uti that that they will cover it. There is no curable condition time period like some companies (usually 12 months to 18 months). My cat has had one uti a year and a half ago (she is 2 years old) and if she were to get one at any point in the future it will not be covered. The woman told me not to worry about a uti and that it’s not a big deal which made me uncomfortable. I had to give her a break down of how expensive it actually is. There is the office visit, which is often a same day emergency visit which is more expensive because a uti can come on quickly, the urinalysis, and the medications. It’s expensive. Hundreds of dollars. She then asked why I’m so concerned about a uti, maybe my cat has kidney disease or something. I said no, she does not, I would just like to know what I am paying for coverage wise, what is covered, and what to expect. She then began her sales pitch again and didn’t respond to what I said. She was off on another roll. Very unproductive and unprofessional conversation to say the least.
When companies act like this and you get that pit in your stomach, it is bad deal and you need to get off it. There was nothing good about whatever that was. Really scary these people are in charge of providing insurance for beloved pets.
Homeowner Insurance - Power Company Equipment Failed - Pushing Onus to Homeowner Insurance
Alright so... I live in GA and GA power services my home. Recently the neutral wire on GA power side (prior to meter) became heavily degraded and caused half of the house to receive double voltage. I attempted to make a claim with GA power, but I guess they have it written into their contract with the city that they don't cover incidents resulting from "squirrels chewing through the steel wiring." They said to make an insurance claim instead. Does all that sound right? We had a number of items (dishwasher, stove, ceiling fans, computer, etc) fry due to the double voltage. We have an ongoing open claim from Hurricane helene unfortunately as well so trying to determine best recourse. Thanks!
Healthy Paws Pet Insurance - Healthy Paws Pet Insurance Warning
Created a Reddit account to share this year's premium increase on every post or topic re: Healthy Paws. As a loyal customer since 2011, who has been dealing with the already massive price increases every year since 2020/21 but forced to deal with it, I can't anymore and am being forced to cancel. Sharing this for the greater good, and won't even share further details in hope the numbers you see below speaks for itself. Apologies that I cannot seem to post a screenshot. Started around $34 in 2011. These numbers are for 2 small dogs, with the majority of the increase related to the old one).

GEICO - GEICO Insurance
Hey! I have a question. I reside in Tallahassee, Florida. I have one car here (2025 Toyota Corolla) and a car in Miami (2005 Toyota Camry). I informed Geico that the Camry is in Miami, and my sister is the primary driver. Geico informed me yesterday that they will drop the car from my insurance because they think that it’s her car (it’s my car in my name). They told me I needed the registration that shows the car is mine, and it needs to show the address where I’m at, which is the mailing address in Tallahassee (I go between Tallahassee and Miami). Anyone has been through this? Please advise.
Progressive - Tier 3M with Progressive - what does this mean?
I noticed on my renewal for my auto policy with Progressive that I was listed in tier 3M. Google told me this is a high risk tier, but I have been driving for many years, have a clean driving record, and no claims. I am, based on my driving record and insurance history, a low risk driver. Is this a high risk tier? Does anyone know how these tiers are assigned? If I am incorrectly assigned to the wrong tier, how do I fix that?
Oxford - Intensive Out Patient Billing
Hi all! I’m trying to submit out of network bills to Oxford for my sons intensive out patient program. I’m getting denied for this reason, “Benefits for this service are denied. Your provider has billed more units than what is allowed in one day. The allowed number of units have been processed on a different service line. (CES024)”
I’m in NY also
Thank you
