Fetch Canada - Do not use
Do not use! They are a sad excuse for pet insurance!!
Fetch - I am extremely disappointed in Fetch…
I am extremely disappointed in Fetch Pet Insurance. One of the main reasons I chose Fetch was its coverage for integrative treatments like acupuncture and physical therapy. However, when I finally needed to use that coverage, they found a loophole to deny my claim.
My veterinary specialist referred my dog to the most highly recommended licensed canine physical therapist in Utah. Despite physical therapists not needing to be veterinarians in Utah, Fetch refused coverage simply because he isn’t a DVM. This is incredibly frustrating, especially considering I’ve paid tens of thousands of dollars in premiums over the years for my senior dogs and have rarely received reimbursements.
I will be canceling my policy before the next renewal and will never use or recommend Fetch again. As someone deeply connected in the animal industry, I will make sure others are aware of this disappointing experience. If you’re considering Fetch, be warned—they may not stand by their advertised coverage when you need it most.
Fetch - Fetch denied coverage for my friend’s…
Fetch denied coverage for my friend’s dog in an emergency situation. Then five months later, sent her a renewal bill—for her dead dog.
Fetch - Terrible
Terrible, pushing me out by raising my premium $110 per quarter and lowering my reimbursement rate. Because I made a claim, I have been with them for 7 years, my dog is 8 years old. I love my dog. but i am retired. They could not care less. Very hard to deal with.
Money Money Money. Disgusting.
Fetch - STAY AWAY! Will Deny Claims and Impossible to Get In Contact w/ Someone
Paid monthly fees for months. The moment I file a claim for my dog's vet visit, they deny the claim because he had an ear infection in the past. They will look for any reason to deny a claim.
I've been trying to cancel the service but have been on hold for an hour because the only way to cancel is via phone. Clearly hoping you get tired of waiting on hold. Called the number provided as a reply from Fetch here and am still on hold. At this point I'm working on a chargeback with my credit card company.
Fetch - had trouble with web site
I had trouble submitting my claim although it could be user error
Fetch - Horrible service and denial of coverage
I write this review one day after leaving a positive review for Alicia. I have been a customer since 2020 and submitted my first claim ever within the last week for my dog. Vet records going back to 2020 place a "note" on his chart 2 days before his waiting period ended that now led to a denial of the claim. Had I not sent the records from 2020 (which I barely remembered existed), would the claim have been approved in its absence? 2020 was a crazy time period for people and I got my dog in to see the vet when I could. To now see that for my first claim (mind you it's >$1,000) it is denied, it all feels very nitpicky for a time period where rules sort of went out the window with a focus on health and wellbeing. But not for Fetch. To me, this is not why I pay for Fetch and ultimately is the reason I just ended my policy. Also, rate increases have been unruly and to pay for another year of coverage when things would likely be noted as "preexisting" anyways, I might as well pay for the work my dog needs out of pocket and then he will have a clean bill of health with respect to that part of his body and another insurance company will not mark it as a preexisting condition like Fetch did. Such a shame and unkind business practice. (This was for mid-January 2025).
To reply to the response from Fetch, one of my main frustrations is that I provided additional medical records after you all requested them. These records were from early 2020, and while on the phone with your representative, she told me clearly that many customers did not have records from that timeframe because of Covid and that it was acceptable if those records were unavailable. Rather than be lazy, I found the records and sent them to you all and they ended up aligning with the waiting period. If I had, like other customers likely did, provided no records for the Covid timeframe in 2020, it sounds like my claim would not have had standing to be denied. That’s my frustration. I went above and beyond to care for my pet, during a health crisis, and to provide those records to you all, and that’s now the basis for the denial.
Fetch - Your medical records requirements are…
Your medical records requirements are excessive and time consuming. My claim has been delayed due to this. I submitted what I thought was adequate medical records, (invoices for the time specified) but when I filed a claim I was told that they would not suffice. I had Nationwide for the life spans of both dogs and NEVER had to go through anything like this. I am seriously considering looking for another insurance plan for my dogs.
Fetch Canada - They do not offer 90% per advertising
I have been with Fetch for 5 plus years. all was going well until i had to renew last year. They increased my plan from $450 /year to $850 /year. i was okay with that since i had used their services the year before. But this year they increased the deductible from $300 to $1000 and only 50% reimbursement for $450. per year. I asked to keep my old plan and that was not an option for me. They were not willing to customize the plan or bend on any request. I either accepted the new plan or term the insurance coverage which i did and was quoted with another vendor for the plan i requested. I am very upset with Fetch and would not recommend them to any one.
Fetch - I have 2 Labradors insured by Fetch…
I have 2 Labradors insured by Fetch since they were puppies. They were evaluated for hip & joint problems by vet per requested by Fetch to wave a 1 year waiting period on hip problems. They have had their checkups with the same vet practice & are in excellent health. The have increased my annual premiums by double over the last 3 years for my one dog who is now 8 & the other dog who is 6 I just got her renewal & they have almost doubled that. They offer a lower premium by suggesting you lower your annual payout & increase your deductible which amounts to $10 to $12 a month. I did this with the older of the 2 when he
6 years old & the next year they increased my premium back higher again. I contacted Fetch today & offered the same solution which I refused . They are saying it’s the breed & age but I have contacted another person who I recommended Fetch too & the same reason is being given to her for the increase in her premiums. Her dog is a small breed mixed breed part Papion . She has never filed a claim & has had her policy less than mine . Fetch is increasing our policies for other dogs health problems. I do not mind & expect
increases in premiums but not at the amounts they are inflicting on their insured. I wonder if they are trying to price you out so you can no longer afford your policy after they have collected premiums for years with no serious claims or any claims at all.
