Progressive - Canceling a claim
So I hit someone’s car and the damage was very minimal. Just a tiny dent and a scratch. I filed a claim, and the guy I hit said the damage was minimal so he wasn’t going to file one. I called yesterday to cancel and was told by progressive I would get a call today. I get a call and let the lady know I wanted to cancel because of the reason provided. She then gives me attitude over the phone and we hangup the call. What do I do in this situation ?
Progressive - I'm dumb. What am I supposed to do here?
Windshield claim, Progressive.
Hailstorms for days.
Deductible: $2000
Vehicle: Toyota rav4 2020
Progressive claims person asked do I want to get paid $2000 or pay for the windshield repair and have them pay the rest?
I haven't had to repair a windshield before. I didn't know what to choose.
Haven't gotten a quote but I don't think it'll cost 2k?
I didn't even know there would be choosing.
So before I do next step, adjuster etc: What... exactly am I supposed to do here? (I am feeling... cyberpunk dystopia atm)
Progressive - Worried my car will be totaled
Hello everyone, a couple of days ago I was involved in an accident where I was merging and hit a car that was in my Blindspot. I feel awful but I maintain that I did everything I could to avoid it. I checked over my shoulder. I use my blinker, my car has lane assist. The car that hit me just came out of nowhere. I took my car to an auto body repair shop that is owned by a family friend and they quoted my total repair at $7600. progressive told me that if the cost to repair my vehicle is 50% of my cars total value that they will just total it.. I do not want my car totaled as it’s almost paid off and I don’t think it’s even that damaged I could just replace the passenger door on my own and be done with it, I owe about $1700 on my car and progressive also told me that if they total it that the bank might take my car!! I would rather just go pay off my car and fix the door myself. Can anybody give me an input or help? To make matters worse my husband is active duty and we are leaving in 8 weeks across the country. I feel sick
Progressive - Unenrolled from progressive snapshot within 45 day period
I unenrolled from snapshot because it was tracking a majority of instances where I wasn’t the driver. Do you think they will increase my insurance based on the data they have already? It’s only 14 days worth.
Progressive - Car insurance included salvage title cars in comps, won't negotiate
So our car was stolen and our insurance (Progressive) gave us their vehicle valuation report. The base value is 33k and they deducted almost 12k since it's salvaged title (stolen recovery) so it ends up being almost 21k. My problem is that 3 out of the 5 comps in the report were also salvage title! So I sent them a letter saying based off of their formula they should realistically be giving me the average price of those 3 salvaged vehicles (ends up being 31k after adjustments) these are cars that are selling or have sold in my area. Instead they're double dipping using salvaged cars for comps and deducting the title history deduction on top of that. Now, they give me a call back saying they're firm on their number they can't move around numbers bla bla bla..
I don't get it? , realistically I wasn't expecting 31k I wanted to negotiate and meet somewhere in the middle and now they're telling me they're done.. to invoke my appraisal clause. Like are they serious? Based off of reddit I thought insurances went up a little and tried to negotiate somewhat. So am I stuck now? Should be worth hiring an appraiser right? Anyone go through a similar experience or have any advice?
Progressive - Progressive | Snapshot
Received my 6-month renewal notice for Progressive and suprise () a 20% increase.
Problem is I use Snapshot, have 4/5 average, which I thought yields an additional discount, not an increase.
I called. Progressive claims rates go up/down all the time and can not give me specific reason for this increase. My 4/5 average Snapshot is already included in new rate.
Is this practice common, follow *their* Snapshot rules - get increase ??
Progressive - Commercial auto insurance CA
Been with progressive commercial since start of business, 2 years, the called me last month and said the are dropping me as they don't cover my type of business in CA anymore.
I pay 50k every 6 months, 10 vans, 12 drivers
No claims made (that were our fault), I'd like to not pay 100k a year if possible, 1m/2m w/5m Umbrella
Any other company suggestions? Thanks in advance!
Progressive - Home policy will be dropped due to soon to be demolished garage roof.
I was just informed that my progressive home policy will be dropped due to the condition of my detached garage's roof. They want to see a signed contract to demolish the structure or replace the roof within "the immediate future."
The problem is, we are working with a contractor and engineer to plan and permit a new 2 story garage/living space in its place and that process will likely take at least a year before breaking ground, maybe more.
It would be a huge waste of money to re roof a structure that will be demolished and would be a huge inconvenience to demolish the structure over a year early.
Does anyone know the magic words to say to impress upon them that the structure will be torn down. Or is there any way they can exclude that structure from my policy? Or am I SOL and should start shopping for a new policy?
Progressive - Passenger in car accident, offered settlement
I was in a car accident a couple weeks ago and didn’t suffer any major injuries besides a bumping my head and some headaches which have subsided. I didn’t go to the hospital or anything and was called today by progressive and was told they typically don’t give payouts if you don’t go to the doctors but because of the headaches I was having offered me $500 and I accepted it over the phone. I was sent a release email for my signature but haven’t signed yet. I know nothing about how this stuff works, should I just take the money? Could I have gotten more if I would’ve said “idk” over the phone? One friend said they could get me a lawyer pro bono but idk if that would be worth it.
Progressive - Sold a 25k car with full coverage and bought a $5000 Nissan Leaf with only liability coverage. Rates stayed the same.
Progressive, Northern California, 5 driver/5 car policy. I’m mostly remote now at work and sold my car for a local commuter. With the new car, my annual mileage estimate went down by 5k miles per year. The car is dirt cheap, so I opted for liability only coverage.
I thought I was going to save $1000 per year, but my rates stayed almost the exact same. What’s going on here? Would talking to an agent on the phone change anything?
