Fetch Canada - Absolutely not worth it
Denied a $5000 tooth extraction under their Every Tooth Covered policy because a past vet exam listed "scant tartar" as an observation. Fetch considers this to be "indicative of pre-existing periodontal disease". My vet writing a letter that this is an absurd take did not help.
On top of that, their customer service is horrible. Their email responses are extremely dismissive if not completely AI generated. On the phone the representatives are friendly and polite but are not at all imbued with the power to solve problems in any meaningful way.
Go with Trupanion. I did my research and they were my other option but I made the wrong choice.
Fetch - Minor problems with website
Too many emails that do not reference other emails Fetch has sent; the links to download information often did not work and I had to sign in multiple times to try to access what I needed.
Fetch Canada - Buyer Beware! Look elsewhere
Payments delayed
Excessively high fees
Impersonal service (upon death of pet)
Submission process online is cumbersome
Fetch - WORDS OF ADVICE
My dog Poncho passed away last week. I want to be up front and let everyone know I am not writing this based on grief or emotion. Poncho had fetch pet insurance for 10 years give or take a year@ $55 per month. I took him to the emergency vet two days before he passed and was billed $755 - my deductible from fetch was $500 with a 70 % copay. I filed a claim and was rewarded $21. I don’t understand how I paid $55 a month for ten years which is over $6000 in total and fetch calculated my copy first before my deductible. WORDS OF ADVISE- read the fine print- pet insurance is not worth it.
In respond to fetch- why is the copay administered before the deductible? Also, I was informed that I have an automatic $500 deductible every time my policy renewed? Like I said above- fetch pet insurance is a waste of money. You’re better off getting an interest free credit card. Hindsight is 20/20- I trusted fetch to aid in my payments. I feel I have been penalized because my dog wasn’t sick multiple times in one year or sick for a long period of time. I understand the point of insurance but charging a copay first before taking out the deductible does not benefit the consumer at all.
Fetch - these are scammers
these are scammers! I applied for compensation twice. and twice I learned about new non-coverages of this insurance. although they promise to cover exams and tests
Fetch Canada - Misleading, Terrible Insurance for Older Pets. Wellness is Not Worth It.
If I could rate Fetch zero or even negative stars, I would.
The only type of client that could possibly have a grand time with Fetch is one with a brand new kitten or puppy that has yet to see a vet and has no known health conditions whatsoever. Older pets, even if just rescued/adopted, will rarely have successful claims as they likely have records of some kind of condition that Fetch will reject from review outright.
It's very easy to sign up with Fetch, but also very easy to not find out what classifies as a pre-existing condition. Gingivitis? Your dental cleanings won't be covered even with their Wellness add-on (which barely covers anything). What kills me is that this is a very treatable condition, namely in the early stages, but they will reject your claim if gingivitis was recorded in any previous records before your policy starts. Sorry for wanting to make sure my cat was healthy and had a vet for emergencies after rescuing/adopting him because he had no records? What even is the point of dental coverage if they don't cover general cleanings with or without gingivitis? Complete waste of money.
They might as well be UHC for pets. Guaranteed to reject your claim so they can keep profits. We may have paid for the year already, but we will be cancelling our plan immediately after realizing Fetch is a waste of time and so much money.
I highly recommend looking elsewhere or putting those payments into your own emergency account - might as well fund coverage ourselves if we're going to be forced to pay up with useless insurance policies.
Fetch - dont have a computer and 1000 phone--so…
dont have a computer and 1000 phone--so I have to mail you my bill submissions??
Fetch Canada - If I could give zero stars I would
If I could give zero stars I would. They totally f’d me over:
1) they issued me two policies instead of adding wellness to mine
2) they then rejected my wellness claims stating that they are not covered in my policy because I had two (which their sales person actually advised me on)
3) when we escalated the issue it took 3 months and still no resolution
I have cancelled my policy now and going with another provider. Please do not go with them!! Keep yourself and your pet safe by sticking to a better provider. Luigi knew what was up with these insurance firms
Fetch - I tried to get pharmacy information &…
I tried to get pharmacy information & was stuck in an endless loop which didn't progress. I also tried to add direct deposit information & that didn't progress either. This is the first time I have used Fetch & I REALLY hope this isn't an indication of how they work.
Fetch - A Scam That Ignores Customers and Avoids Paying Claims
I am absolutely outraged by the way Fetch Pet Insurance is handling my claim. I filed a formal appeal over a week ago, yet I have received no response, no acknowledgment, and zero effort to resolve the issue. I have emailed every available contact, including the claims department and customer support, and all of my messages are being completely ignored.
My veterinary bill totaled $487.37, but Fetch decided to reimburse me only $110.00—a mere fraction of what should have been covered. My policy states that eligible expenses should be reimbursed at 80% (after a 20% copay), but instead of following this structure, Fetch applied arbitrary reimbursement caps that were far below the promised percentage. They completely excluded certain charges under the excuse that they weren’t covered, even though these services were clearly part of routine and necessary veterinary care. Not a single dollar was applied toward my $400 deductible, meaning my coverage is practically useless until I pay even more out of pocket. It turns out that Fetch has hidden reimbursement limits on all wellness services, which they don’t clearly disclose upfront. For example, my pet’s comprehensive exam was only reimbursed at $30, vaccinations at $10 each, and lab tests at a fraction of their actual cost—despite my policy supposedly covering 80% of expenses after copay.
Since submitting my appeal, I have received no communication whatsoever. Fetch has ignored every single email I’ve sent. This company refuses to engage with customers once they take your money and does not process appeals or respond to formal complaints.
Since Fetch Pet Insurance refuses to act in good faith, I will be filing formal complaints with the State Department of Insurance, the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC), the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).
This company is a scam, and I strongly warn every pet owner to stay away. They gladly take your premiums but will do everything in their power to avoid paying claims. If you want real coverage that actually protects your pet, look elsewhere. Fetch Pet Insurance is nothing but a fraudulent, deceptive business that preys on trusting pet owners.
UPD No one from your team even bothered to contact me—everything you stated is false.
You sent me a $110 check and had the audacity to deduct an additional $3 fee.
I already sent an email to the designated address on February 27, and all the required documents were submitted even earlier. So please, don’t blatantly lie—the facts are not on your side.
By the way, I have already prepared formal complaints for all the relevant departments, and since you have failed to respond to my official request, I will be filing them tomorrow.
