Pets Best - Do not recommend
Purchased their most expensive coverage after the vet told me I could use this company to get reimbursement for the money spent on my dog’s care. He is a rescue and didn’t have any allergy issues when we first got him. When they developed we got him insurance and then took him to the vet. Filed a claim and was denied because they determined it was a preexisting condition. Which it was not. So I wasted $60 on coverage for NOTHING. terrible customer service. absolutely zero coverage. Literally just a scam.
Pets Best - Rates Doubled at Renewal
Coverage was affordable for a fairly decent plan, but once the one year policy auto renewed it literally DOUBLED in price. This is obviously a power move for them, because if you switch insurances any previous ailments are not longer covered by new insurance due to be pre-existing. I would look into another company for Pet Insurance and get data about their average annual rate increases.
Pets Best - Horrible
Don’t use this pet insurance. Firstly the app never works, which is why the process is horrible. 2nd they considered constipation as a preexisting condition which is why my claim was denied (which is absolutely insane) 3rd customer service is absolutely zero help. I am disputing the claim but I doubt anything will happen. Waste of money. Tell people to not use them!
Pets Best - Pets Best: Great Service, But Wellness Plan Value Decreasing
I've had a generally positive experience with Pets Best, particularly with their excellent customer service and the timely processing of claims. This is truly commendable. My main concern, however, is the consistent and substantial rise in premiums, especially for the wellness plan. Unfortunately, these increases haven't come with any enhancements to the wellness benefits, making the value for money diminish over time.

Everything went wrong that could go wrong. This is your typical insurance company screwing you over. Processing the claim takes an extraordinary amount of time; the reimbursement takes forever; the items covered is sinister at least, and you're lucky if you get what they actually claim you will get, because they find reasons to deduct multiple items that you didn't know were not covered. I don't recommend them
Pets Best - Really good first 4 years and then --
I've recommended PetsBest to many people. The claims process is easy, and I've always been paid. My little dog has conditions which require medications for life. The premiums had modest increases over the first four years. But I've just been hit with an increase of the current monthly premium by $30! More than a 50% increase. I haven't moved, my payments are automatic, etc. No explanation offered. I'm a senior on a fixed, modest income and this hike is very hard to absorb. I feel like I've been mugged. Now they're just like every other insurance company. Perhaps they're aiming to get rid of me and my dog.
Pets Best - Not worth it
I have had their insurance for both of my dogs and I’ve never had to file a claim. I had to file one for something that I’ve never have and so far they’ve denied me.
Pets Best - Awful. Disorganized.
Pets Best messed with my vet opthamologu claim for 2 months. $390. PB lost the vet medical record, 1 page. Vet sent another. PB started a new claim with new claim number. Dog was adopted march 8, 2025. PB said LA County Animal shelter records of adoption and health "invalid". Just completely absurd.
Pets Best - Not the best, not the worst
Ive had pets best insurance since my shihtzu was less than 3 months old. Her insurance started out at 70ish dollars and has increased to 101.
Most of the stuff she goes to the vet for is not covered and I end up paying out of pocket the majority of her expenses. Wish there was an insurance that actually helps.
Pets Best - Very disappointed!
My dog did not have any underlying health issues when enrolling him with this company. He devloped allergies. Our claim was denied for reimbursement. I feel this company took my money for this policy with no intention of ever covering a claim. They cost me the opportunity to go with another company who would have be more honest and who would have paid for these allergy issues, and now I will be denied from any other company as this will be labeled as a "pre-existing." I would NOT receommend this company. If I could give them a 0 rating I would.
