Pets Best - Worst
I have a lot of complaints about the claims through this company. But to make it short I pay for insurance that does no good. I am better off putting the money I pay them into savings to use at the vet. They are difficult to work with.
Pets Best - Processing Claims takes forever.
I think it takes way too long for Pets Best to process claims. Every. Single. Time. I get an email apologizing for the delay in processing my claim. If you have time to send that email you have time to process my claim. It is not very difficult. For this reason alone, I would never recommend Pets Best to another pet owner.
Pets Best - Insurance premium went up 86% in 1 yr.
The insurance premium went up 86% in one year. That is simply an atrocity.
Pets Best - Worst insurance ever
Worst insurance ever. I have spent over $5k over the last few years. I finally used it and they denied everything. It is absolutely not worth even wasting your time reading into any other reviews. Move onto another company 100%. To trust a company and spend $5k and then not get a single dollar back when we actually use it, is bullshit.

Pets Best - You could start by being more timely
You could start by being more timely. and pay out more on priscriped medication for my pet for the last three submitted needs for my pet.
Pets Best - Would give zero stars if possible
Would give zero stars if possible. Accident claim was denied for being prior to waiting period completion when, in fact, the waiting period had passed. I bought and paid for a year of coverage in good faith. Unfortunately this company neither understands or acts in good faith.
Pets Best - Not happy
Not happy! They raised my premium this year $40 a month despite 80/20 with $500 deductible. Worse yet Pets Best keeps denying my claims stating “pre-existing condition” of “atopy/allergy” regardless if it’s the ears, licking of paws, or skin conditions. Have yet to meet the deductible because covered allowable amount for treatment is so minuscule compared to what my vet charges. And I have the “wellness plan”. More likely you’ll spend more on the premiums than your out of pocket expenses. After spending $1200 and now $1680 a year then meet a $500 deductible it’s a ripoff in my opinion. And my dog is only 7 years old.
Pets Best - Unfair preconditions
If you have insurance that pays for anything that not preconditions would help people that are on a fixed income and try to get help with there furbaby anything preconditions should be covered like anything happens to their furbaby try to treat them to the best they can there should be no preconditions when your paying $48 a month the medication that is prescribed to your furbaby try the help them should be covered by insurance.
Pets Best - Denied Claims and Fought to Avoid Reimbursement
I had Pets Best insurance for a very limited time. I signed up for a policy in January of 2025 and shortly after, in February, my cat began exhibiting some strange behaviors. After a trip to the vet, they had diagnosed her and treated for hyperthyroidism. Pets Best denied my claim citing that documents had not been received after I had submitted all relevant documents via email and via their online portal. They did not provide any useful feedback to help process the claim and some of the representatives were pretty rude over the phone.
A few months later, after fighting to get my February claim processed, my cat took a turn for the worse and was diagnosed, over a three week span, with an inoperable brain tumor. Pets Best processed the claim at an extraordinarily slow pace (which they said was not their standard speed, but happened to be the speed at which they processed every single one of our claims) and at the end denied coverage citing that the brain tumor was a pre-existing condition.
Setting aside the logic that a brain tumor simply cannot be a pre-existing condition, they were saying that the behaviors that dictated their decision to deny coverage were stemming from her hyperthyroidism (which, again, they covered after her visit in February). I had to gather written statements from her veterinarians, all of her medical records and file an appeal with Pets Best in order for them to finally process the claim and pay what they owed.
In my opinion, Pets Best went as far out of their way as possible to avoid paying what they owed and hoped that I would be too aggravated by the process to pursue the reimbursement. I ended up spending the last month of my pets life arguing with insurance and stressing about how to pay for her medical care because the team at Pets Best did not prioritize the care of my cat.
I could not recommend against starting a policy with Pets Best with more of my heart. In denying coverage and creating such stress for our family financially, they robbed us of time that could have been spent caring for our pet in her last few weeks.
