Progressive - Progressive Added An Unknown Person To My Policy
I got an email today regarding an upcoming Progressive insurance payment of $455. I spat my drink and went to look up my policy and to my surpriced, Progressive added a Random dude to my Policy. I have no idea who he is at all.
I called Progressive support line and they said they automatically added him because they "Think" he lived in my House. I was pissed and told them i did not consent or even call them to add him. They told me that i agree to their terms and condition bla bla. I got literally no heads up or any phone calls what so ever. They claimed the mailed me about the new change. I rarely check insurance docs as they are either bills i already paid or policy info. To make it worse, this dude has 2 Serious ticketsand an at fault accident.
I been a loyal member for over a decade. 0 accidents, 0 tickets. They told me to call them on Monday to fix this "easy" mistake. I was gonna wait till Monday but i couldn't let this mistake fly so i cancelled my policy. I drive my car like once every few months anyways.
Progressive - Wear and tear vs. unnatural wear due to damage
My wife was driving and was hit in the rear driver panel and part of the rear tire in a hit and run. The car was drivable so it was not towed. The impact caused the tire to toe out however.
For context, I had the specific tire that was hit replaced maybe two months ago. That being said, BOTH rear tires were worn down to bald and wire showing in some areas.
Progressive has deemed that only the drivers side tire is eligible for coverage because it caused sidewall damage and that the tires are bald because it is a performance vehicle. They are also saying that a single tire being improperly aligned/toed would not cause any additional wear to the other tires.
Do I have any options as far as getting them to cover the passenger tire? Is there a magic phrase or wording I need to use? I understand that a new tire is only around $250 to mount and balance but I feel like this is something the insurance should cover given the circumstances.

Progressive - False insurance given
Hey yall I was involved in a rear ending accident last week in Texas and when I called progressive (the information I was given by the person who hit me) they informed me that his policy has not been active for some time. I have now contacted my insurance and informed them of all of this and they are looking into it. Just curious if anybody has ever seen this or seen a fake insurance card? I tried googled and can’t find anything of this sort! It looks very legit. I imagine he will also be in trouble with the police in some way for giving false insurance to them. He already had 2 citations for having expired plates and hitting me. The cop informed me his insurance was good when he gave me the write up but I assume he didnt check as they said it’s not active. It was written up for 3 months from 7/2025-10/2025 which progressive says they do not even have policies for that short of a time. Seeking any advice for anybody who has been through this! I’m assuming I will end up having to file with my uninsured motorist.
Progressive - Diminished value claim denied because I'm not selling the car - is that legal??
I live in Colorado and was in an accident where the other driver admitted fault. Their insurance company (Progressive) accepted full liability, paid for the repairs, and told me I could file a diminished value claim once repairs were completed.
I filed the claim with an independent appraisal from a DV business that valued my loss at about $4,000. Now, Progressive is denying it, saying I’m “not eligible” because I’m keeping the vehicle and not selling or trading it right now. Their email says:
> “As you are keeping the vehicle and not trading it in or selling it, there is no way to measure diminished value as you’ve not lost anything.”
This is a 2024 Hyundai Kona with ~11,000 miles, accident-free before the crash. My understanding is that Colorado law allows diminished value claims in third‑party accidents regardless of whether you actually sell the vehicle—it’s based on the market value difference before vs. after the accident.
Do they actually have legal grounds to deny me just because I’m keeping the car? Has anyone in Colorado fought and won this?
Progressive - mind-boggling auto insurance rate increases in California
Six months ago when Progressive abruptly raised my 6-month premium rate by 20% the only explanation given was that "auto parts prices are rising quickly".
Today Progressive raised my 6-month premium rate again by another 20% with the only explanation "high inflation in California".
$1800 every six months is insanity.
My car is nearly 10 years old and I only drive it to grocery store and maybe a restaurant now and then.
I'm 60+ with clean DMV.
What is Progressive trying to do there ? Is this legal or outright fraud ? If it's legal are they attempting adverse selection to eliminate California policies ? ( I've read about this for home insurance but not auto. )
What should I do ?
Progressive - What to do about car insurance
Hey everyone! HOME HEALTH NURSES/WORKERS INPUT NEEDED
So I haven’t been offered the job yet but I have a second round (!!!) interview on Monday :) this job requires a lot of driving, with mileage reimbursement. They said I would sometimes have to drive patients to and from doctors appointments and/or school (I’m a nurse, I would be a field case manager) and I’m just curious if any of you have been in this scenario. For car insurance do/did you apply for ride share option just in case?
I am debating switching ins. companies anywho, my quote from Progressive is really high.. apparently in my state (NJ) they hiked it up just in general and a few months ago I got into an accident that I’m 100% not at fault for.
Progressive - Progressive cancellation notice
Last night I received a cancellation notice from progressive for “debris and hazards needing removal” and they said I needed a complete roof replacement. My roof is 13 years old but is in really good condition. No branches or leaves on it. No missing shingles. No hail damage or peeling. They didn’t even give me a chance to rectify the situation before sending me a refund check. The inspection report is bogus. The guy took the pics from the ground. I’m shopping around now but scared to get another denial by another inspector. I have high credit and pay everything on time. I have only ever had one claim and it was in 2024 and the adjuster said there was minor wind damage and we just needed to replace a few shingles which we did.
Progressive - Is This Normal?
I’m 20 Male, In California, 2 years driving record with a Clean history.
I’m buying a New Ford Maverick 2025 XLT and looking for insurance but I keep getting quoted around $2300 total for ONLY 6 months. This seems insane I know my age and new car and more plays a role, but even then it seems absurd how much it is for just 6 months not even an annual term.
Is there anything I can do, or people that might offer me better prices or discounts. I’ve tried most companies and feel as if I won’t get anything better then $2,100 from Progressive.
