Progressive - Credit Dispute with Progressive Insurance
I was with progressive and I stopped being with them after an accident happened that I was put at fault, even though I wasn’t. Due to my lack of knowledge of how to even report an accident. After I paid my final bill from progressive they issued me another fee and so I didn’t pay it and now it’s affecting my credit which I want to get the claim off, but I don’t know how to explain that I was charge additionally for something that I honestly don’t know what the fee is for.
Progressive - Home Insurance Claim-Contractor ghosting
Context: Hail Storm on May 3 2024 and it damaged my roof, siding, and gutters. Filed claim with my insurance company Progressive. Progressive approved full roof repair, replacement of gutters, but only approved replacement of siding on 1 side of my house. On the siding my home policy didn’t offer matching so Progressive is only paying to replace 1 side and says to patch damage siding on other sides of my house with siding that will be taken down.
Signed contract with roofing company on June 7 2024 for them to do all the approved work. July 2024 the roofing company replaced my roof. Since then, they have not returned to place my gutters and do the siding. I’ve called the roofing company at least once per month to follow up and they say I’m in their Que and they’ll get to it when they get to it.
Roofing contractor says insurance companies give 2 years after claims are filed to complete work. Can someone confirm if this true/accurate? What other options do I have? Can/Should I file a complaint with BBB?
Progressive - confused with 'initial estimate' and how it works
so long story short, i was side swiped the lady who hit me admitted it was her fault.
i filed a claim with her insurance and they called me and sent me a link to an app to submit photos of the damage. the damage is scratches and dents on whole passenger side of my truck, along with damages on the wheel.
i get a call the next day stating they went over the 'initial estimate' value at $330.87 lol, i took it a body shop to get an estimate for all damages and i got a quote for $9,800..
a little confused how the initial estimate works, i called my adjuster but they do such a poor job explaining it to me as you can sense english is not their first language and when i ask what that means they just repeat and read the statement to me.
its the first time i have ever been in this kind of situation, can anyone help me? i have been stressing, but was blown away when they quoted me for $330 to repaint, and do body work and buy a new wheel on $80,000 truck.
Progressive - Car Rental Charged Me Total Rental Fee AFTER Insurance Paid For It?
First time posting on Reddit, and not sure if this is the right place to ask this question, if not I apologize, please direct me to the right place if that's the case.
So I'm in LA and I have Progressive Car Insurance.
Here's the situation:
I got rear-ended back in February, the other driver was fully responsible for it, I went through the whole insurance claim process and got my car repaired, and because my insurance has $1500 car rental allowance during repair, they got me a rental car for about a month while my car was under repair. the car rental company was Midway Car Rental (The one my collision body shop is using.)
Everything went smoothly back then and I even got my deductible on time from Progressive, I returned the rental car when my car was ready, they checked the rental car, no extra fee needed, no issue at all.
Then out of no where, last week the car rental company charged me THE FULL RENTAL PRICE to my credit card I put on file (I used that for the deposit.) I called them, they said they have been asking my insurance to pay the rental fee for months and they never paid, that's why they charged my credit card. I called my claim rep, he said they paid the car rental on 7/15, which was 10+ days ago, the rep is also baffled by the unexpected charge. I checked my Progressive app and can see the $1500 rental reimbursement under my payout summary, and it did say 7/15/2025.
I am not sure what's going on and what to do in this situation. Both side claimed that they're not the problem (well expected) the car rental is asking me to ask my rep for proof of payment and send to them or else "they can't do anything about it", I passed the message and all the info to my claim rep, he said he's on it but then nothing happened and he's now not available through phone somehow. Im very confused and somehow been put in the middle as a mediator??
I really need the car rental to cancel this charge on my credit card. It's an foreign credit card and I need to pay it off soon, and this expected charge is seriously messing up my payment plan this month. But it seems like both party needs to investigate or negotiate this for some time, and they're not very cooperative and helpful.
Any suggestions, advice?
Progressive - What can I get to replace progressive?
Hi we have progressive as for our auto insurance we had an accident and it raised from $2000 to $4000+ for our premium and we added 2 more cars didnt really save us money like that. We pay almost $800 monthly for 3 cars. I just got licensed in CA so i dont have a driving record yet. (I was from another country) I was trying to get a policy under my name. I dont think I can since theres not much driving history. My husband has a dui from 9 years ago and we cant get geico. Were running out of cheaper options. What can we do or has anybody had this issue and what did you do? Where can I shop around for auto insurance.
Progressive - Progressive billing me one month after I paid my 6 month rate?
Hi all,
Unfortunately, someone (without insurance) hit my parked car earlier this month. I have their information and going through a claim now with progressive to get my car fixed. I assumed even though I was not at fault that my insurance would go up, but I just paid in full in June for the next 6 months and progressive just sent me a bill for $250 due in August? This seems a little crazy! I didn't think it would go up that much, nor did I think I would already have to pay a premium, thought this would be at renewal. Please let me know what I should do. Thanks!
Progressive - 42% jump in progressive car insurance at renewal!
Before I contact them does anyone know why I could get a 42% increase in cost at renewal? I've been with them for over a decade! I had one claim this year because lost control of car in snow storm and hit a pole. My rate went up by $11 a month(which I understood) but a crazy rate increase at renewal is new to me! Is this normal??
Progressive - Full repair not covered with Progressive
Pretext: In michigan, 2019 Equinox.
So the girlfriend rear ended a trailer, resulted in a decent amount of damage to the front end. Part of the damage was the axle being ripped out of the transmission, loss of fluid and all that goes with that.
She files a claim, we take it to a preferred body shop that is a Cadillac dealer. Repairs were made, we pick it up after it’s ‘finished’. I am the one who picked it up and noticed almost immediately there are shifting problems that did not exist before the accident. Called the body shop and they said they would be the first step, so the car was parked and we went out of town for the 4th of July weekend, dropped he car back to the body shop the following Tuesday.
Have waited this long for an adjuster to rule that it is not loss related due to it being internal to the transmission. And because he can’t see an impact to the transmission, it would not be covered.
I understand it would be hard to prove the problem didn’t exist if it were left only my word. But Progressive won’t pay the diagnostic hours to find out what the problem even is.
Am I out of line expecting more out of this? For a car that operated flawlessly before an accident, shouldn’t I expect the same after repairs? What should the next steps be? When I asked about an appeal process the adjuster said they’re really isn’t one, and two supervisors already agreed with him.
Am I SOL?
Progressive - Guidance for total loss claim.
I was in a accident. Mine was certified 23 Crv hybrid sport with only 16k miles in chicago il. I tried passing a car and lost traction. Anyways now insurance is offering only 32k and they say I can only show compa within 75miles. they used Mitchell and jd power. they have listed 10 cars in 75 miles but 4 of them were sold listings. What do I do now to get the best amount possible. I can see listings but they are with more miles same like 30k miles and are at 32500 but can't find listings for 16k miles. This is with progressive. How do I negotiate with the adjustor or is it best to get a lawyer or private appraiser? Also is there a thing I shouldn't submit comps more than 75 miles away?
Progressive - Auto insurance renewal doubled in price, requoting at wildly different numbers, not sure if I'm adequately insured or throwing money away.
Really frustrated with navigating car insurance right now. I'm in Chicago suburbs, 2020 camry, and even though I have a much safer car than my previous nissan, this policy is a ton more expensive.
My current 6 month progressive policy:
50k 100k 50k, medical payments 2k, uninsured 15k w 250d, comprehensive w 750d, collision w 1000d, and roadside. This costs $563, but with "discounts" or whatever i'm only paying 443 (though i've paid 82 for 6 months so it's Actually 493).
It's renewing in 2 weeks and suddenly they want $1055, for 6mo. That's almost doubled WTF? I called, the person pulled strings and said it'd be $483 - just kidding that's if i changed my current policy. If i requote for one through feb it's $981, because I don't have an e-sign (and one other) discount anymore? And that would have saved me $400?? Make that make sense. She tried to see what it'd be if we minimized everything, 25k/50k/20k coverage with literally nothing else still would cost of $500 for 6 months. An independent insurance agent quoted progressive with my current (50k/100k/50k) coverage at $780. These are wildly different numbers. Any discounts available to me saved like 5 bucks. 1k over 6 months for car insurance is insane.
I'm still learning to navigate insurance hellscapes. My biggest concern is hitting deer (i travel a lot) or objects on the road (there's always garbage i'm dodging on the highways), so i want at least comprehensive (or is it collision?) and roadside assistance bc I never learned how to do basic car repairs. 2k in medical payments will cover a band-aid at the ER, maybe, so i'm fine getting rid of that and minimizing underinsured (unless that's a bad idea?) and upping deductibles to 750 or 1k if it saves some money. I don't want to be throwing money away because of the appeal to fear that "something might happen" but also don't want to be underinsured and financially screwed if I hit a bumper or someone t-bones my car.
Any advice appreciated.
