health insurance - I got billed for a test that I didnt request that my health insurance doesn't cover
I (23, F) had my first pap smear this year and during the exam, the doctor ordered I have labs done as well. He collected my sample, but now I have a bill in the mail because the lab did testing. I am just so confused because I thought this would be covered since it’s part of my preventive annual exam. I am not sure what to do, should I call insurance or the lab who did the testing? Do I call the doctors office? Do I call insurance and ask to appeal? This is my first time navigating this and I’m not quite sure what to do.
Key Insurance Company - Key Auto Insurance Rehabilitation
I am low income and know others in same position who use Key Insurance Company. I usually pay on the due date (no grace period) as my disability arrives a few days before due date. I went to pay online and you couldn't. A lengthy statement covered web page stating company in rehabilitation. No policies (they are month to month) would be renewed nor new policies issued.Statement dates 3/3/2025. I saw it evening of 3/8 as it is due by 3/10 I had two days to find new insurance at a price I could afford. I alerted two others I knew used Key, and they did the mad scramble to get new insurance. One didn't make it and that's a $250 fine from DMV. We were given no notice. I am sure many others didn't make it or are paying too much in their rush. Do you think we can sue for lack of notice?
Travel insurance - Travel-insurance claim delayed then paid?
Not sure this belongs here because it's not car/home etc. but I had a weird experience with travel insurance on my credit card. My wife and I were headed for a wedding then she got covid a few days ahead, so I put in a claim for the nonrefundable hotel. When nothing happened with the claim over a couple weeks I called their customer service number and was told that the claim required a signed doctor's note saying that we were unable to travel. We \*weren't\* unable to travel so I just gave up. Now, sometime later, I get a notice that they're paying the claim.
The only explanation I can think of, since what they said on the phone seems to match the published benefits, is that the claim was so small that they decided to pay anyway, perhaps to help metrics of some sort.
Is this a thing? I really don't see in retrospect why they would pay if they didn't absolutely have to, although I will admit that my feelings about the credit card (on which we spend a lot of money) were souring. Perhaps it was just a courtesy? Anyone know how this works in practice? I'm trying to figure out to what extent I should really trust this credit card.
Plymouth Rock Auto Insurance - Got backed up into TWICE and their insurance ghosted me
This happened a bit over a year ago. I was driving my girlfriend and her coworker to work and pulled over near the curb to let them out, at the same time another driver starts backing up so I lay on the horn but he hits my car my girlfriend and her coworker both were still in the car when it happened and saw everything. We get out and they are not communicating at all and possibly didn't speak english. Police were called and they didn't show up for over an hour and he eventually started trying to drive off. I follow through for half a block and he stops and backs up into me again. His "son-in-law" came after I guess they called him and he started trying to gaslight me into believing I hit him and theres no proof and that police aren't going to come. LOL. Police eventually pulled up and the other driver started to feign a heart attack or something. They even called the ambulance and the EMT didn't look pleased... I got the police report, report states: **"V1 STATES HE WAS PARKED WHEN V2 WAS REVERSING INTO A PARKING SPOT COLLIDED CAUSING DAMAGE TO FRONT BUMPER. V2 STATES HE WAS TRYING TO TAKE A PARK IN SPOT WHEN HE COLLIDED INTO V1. V2 CLAIMS THAT V1 WAS NOT THERE ARE THE TIME HE WAS REVERSING. V2 DRIVER WAS TRANSPORTED TO BOOTH MEMORIAL FOR CHEST PAINS. PO DIDN'T WITNESS"**. I got the insurance info and drivers info from the police report, called their insurance to make a claim. They instructed me to go to this auto shop and get a quote for damages, went there, the shop said they will call me about the quote. I never heard from the body shop again even after calling them they said they'll send it and never did, the insurance company never again picked up my calls after weeks of calling.
I have liability insurance, with Geico and they said to file the claim with their insurance.
This is in NYC, the other driver had NY plates but insured by a NJ company "Plymouth Rock Auto Insurance"
Due to my girlfriend and I living together, Geico requested me to add her as a secondary driver, I told them she does not even have a license to drive and of course never drive my car. They sent numerous letters and emails about this. Each time I replied online and called in to explain that to them, they acknowledged and I thought that was over. They ended up dropping me, and I didn't even realize for nearly a month and then I was fined by NY for driving without insurance. Paid the penalty and started looking for other insurance. Nobody was willing to cover me due to a gap in coverage, possibly the accident being reported, etc. I was only offered to be insured by GEICO AGAIN LOL. They doubled my rate for liability insurance nearly $400 a month and I've been paying that since.
Need advice on how to get what I'm owed for the damages they caused to my car.
Fetch Pet Insurance - What is the best long term pet insurance provider you've had?

For those of you who have had pet insurance for more than 2-3 years, which ones have you been happy with? I also, just got my new cat lemonade pet insurance but now I am having doubts. Pls helppp
at-fault driver's insurance company - Can a car insurance company rescind a diminished value offer?
I was rear-ended last year, and the at-fault driver's insurance covered the $14,700 in repairs. Afterward, I hired an appraiser, who reported a diminished value of $4,175. Once, I submitted the diminished value claim to the at-fault driver's insurance company, they offered me $300 and then began ignoring my attempts to communicate further. After filing a complaint with the Office of the Commissioner of Insurance, the insurance company finally got back to me and offered $2,000. It's less than I was hoping to get, but I'm worried that pushing for more could cause them to rescind the offer and force me to go to court. So, my question is, if I try (and fail) to get more, will the offer of $2,000 still stand?
Health insurance - Health insurance sent me a subrogation claim letter to fill out for negligence from a surgery I had.
State is Michigan.
I want to keep this as private as possible. Basically I had a double mastectomy back in the beginning of January. It was supposed to include liposuction on my sides to prevent 'dog ears'. I traveled 9 hours for this surgery. The swelling was so bad under my armpits I couldn't really see the open wounds.
When I would do my cleaning and dressing changes every day I noticed a lot of discharge and blood. I had both of my sisters look at the wounds since I couldn't see them. I ended up going to the ER. The did cultures of both side wounds and started me on an IV antibiotic and an oral one.
I contacted my surgeons office and got scheduled with a PA. They tried saying there was no infection and just to put Vaseline on it. They then extended my LOA at work.
The ER contacted me and said that I had E. Coli and a staph infection. They changed the antibiotics because the one they prescribed wouldn't treat the infection. I relayed this info to my surgeons team. At this point I still haven't met with my surgeon after two months.
I googled how to treat the wounds and took the care into my own hands. No doctor in my area will touch the surgical sights since they didn't perform the surgery. Two months later and I still have an open wound with discharge.
Fast forward to this past Friday my health insurance sends me a subrogation claim letter to fill out. I have never heard of this before. It wanted me to file a police report and a LARA report. It also asked if I've hired an attorney. I called the state police post and they said to call the attorney general for any medical malpractice suits.
So my question is how do I find the proper attorney and what are my steps now? I live in a small town and don't even think there are any attorneys that deal with medical malpractice. I have very detailed documentation of my infection and medical reports.
Any advice is welcome.
Amica Mutual Insurance - Amica Mutual Insurance Low-Ball homeowners settlements
I just had a Total Loss on my home which was insured by Amica Mutual. Almost all reputable insurance carriers pay out the face value of the policy. Amica decided to use an obscure New York loophole to "AVERAGE" out what THEY feel I should get instead of what I paid for. They offered me less than 50% of THEIR ADJUSTOR'S replacement cost with the balance paid out after "THEIR REVIEW AND APPROVAL".
Root Insurance - Am I able to dispute the settlement amount?
Hello!
I was in a no-fault accident pm 2/25/25. The lady ran the red light and hit me. Here's the thing, my car is a 2023 outlander PHEV (57k miles) that just came off the lot and still had temp tags. I had the car for two weeks. Market value for my car states anywhere between 28k-32k. I called around to local banks as well to make sure I wasn't wrong in my numbers. Root insurance is only wanting to offer me $23,660. My car was in EXCELLENT condition considering it just came off the lot yet they listed it as Average. Additionally, they have forgone alloy wheels on the report for what ever reason.
Am I able to dispute this? I already consulted a lawyer for the personal injury portion.
