Getting way too expensive. Miniscule payouts.

I've had Trupanion for about 10 years, and for me, I would have been better off without it. If your dog has a catastrophic injury or major disease, it's probably worth it. For general health decline, it's not, in my opinion. My dog's monthly fee started at about $30 and is now about $130.

This company is a rip off. I sent four years of vet. Bills and talked to three different people. Every time I called they had a different excuse for not paying me. The Vet. And I both sent records. Now they are saying they need proof I paid the bills. Do you know any Vet, that would continue to treat your dog for 4 years if you’re not paying at time of service? I don’t! So I asked if the Vet. could send something saying I don’t owe them a dime but still not good enough. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY WITH THIS HORRIBLE COMPANY!

When I went to sign up for a policy, they had my old address in my file as I had moved since then. I used the chat function and spoke to an employee and gave them the information for the update and they walked me through creating a new insurance profile based on what i needed. I was given the quote and accepted the policy.

Seriously horrible. They not only wouldn't cancel our insurance when asked but refused to cancel it after our poor puppy was tragically killed. These folks should be in jail.

Beware of this Pet Insurance Policy - Misrepresentation

I’ve been with this company for almost 14 years. Over that period The rates have gone up grammatically. The few times that I really needed this company to be there for me They failed miserable. They have more loopholes for not paying out and you could imagine and when they do pay out, it’s a small fraction. You will be so much better off putting half of the money in a bank over the years that you would payed them. And you will have more than enough to cover any emergency. They also drop you at 14 years. They make millions of this scam.
