Pets Best - Don’t waste your money
They deny everything. And drive you to spend even more money to “cover” your pet and then they cover nothing. So in the end just pay out of pocket and hope for the best because they don’t care about you or your pet. They aren’t the PetsBest. They are only good for their bottom line.
Pets Best - Avoid the Frustration
I deeply regret switching to Pets Best from Nationwide—this has been the worst pet insurance experience I've ever had. The biggest issue is their claim denials; a significant majority of the claims I submit are rejected without clear justification, making it feel like their priority is avoiding payouts rather than supporting pet owners.
On the rare occasion they do approve a claim, the reimbursement process is painfully slow, often taking weeks before I see any funds. This delay is frustrating, especially when dealing with urgent veterinary expenses. Having been with multiple pet insurance providers, I can confidently say Pets Best has been the most disappointing in terms of reliability and efficiency.
If you're looking for peace of mind and timely coverage for your pet, I strongly recommend exploring other options. My experience has been nothing short of frustrating, and I truly regret making the switch.
Pets Best - Monthly premium is outrageous
Not necessarily this time in particular, but claims do take a while to get paid and the monthly price increase for coverage is outrageous. I looked at other pet insurances with similar coverage and found ones much lower, I'll most likely be switching soon, even after changing my current coverage. I've used Pets Best for the past 7 years or so, but I can no longer justify the monthly cost.
Pets Best - review of Pet's Best pet insurance
I am very disappointed in the amount of time it took to address my claim, 3 months. While not expecting my claim to reach my $250 deductible I was expecting the amount to be applied to my deductible. I will not renew my policy once my year is expired. I had much better service with Nationwide Pet insurance and only left due to the premium. Once again, you get what you pay for...
Pets Best - I pay more just having the insurance than I…
I pay more just having the insurance than I do with any type of reimbursements. Recently had a $700+ vet bill for Wellness and Vaccines, I pay for a plan that helps cover these costs. I got $50 back. Shop around, I wouldn’t recommend.
On top of that ridiculous refund the process took even longer than usual only to get that measly amount back.
Pets Best - Dont do it
Don't waste your time or money
Pets Best - This is a terrible company
This is a terrible company, they do not remburse you for any pet care, I should have quit using them much earlier instead of losing money paying their premiums.
Pets Best - I’m very disappointed in PetsBest
I’m very disappointed in PetsBest. I’ve been a loyal customer that insures 3 dogs and a cat with them for many years, and they denied a claim -a big one of course-$3,500!- that I spent on my 11 year old dog that had an extremely bad infection in her mouth and needed teeth pulled. My vet backed me up with the call he made - and because my regular dental care that I pay for fully was 14 months prior, and not 13 mos. I ate the whole bill! I even called them before bringing them in for what was privy’s broken tooth that needed to be pulled and they assured me it would be covered. It wasn’t. I’m very angry with them, and I’ve sent them many new customers over the years. No loyalty to customers here, and I’m looking for a new insurance company that appreciates their customers.
Pets Best - Extremely disappointed. WIsh I had gone with another company
My dog developed Giardia a few days after I signed up for the insurance. Since then it has progressed into a full blown chronic illness -- Pets Best has not covered one cent of my 10 k vet bill. I understand that there is a a "waiting period," but my dog went from a perfectly healthy puppy to a very sick one and not one penny was reimbursed by this company.
Pets Best - Filing Claims With Them is Like Herding Cats
Pets Best wants certain documentation in a certain way. Failure to provide it EXACTLY as the want it causes claim rejection. Yet their rejection comes without specific comments on how to correct whatever error they came up with. You get a list of possible things. Around and around it goes, weeks and weeks pass, email after email after email. Phone calls don't even resolve it. Finally, if you're lucky, you correctly guess what they want and eventually they process your claim. They eventually honor their contract but by then you've spent all your emotional capital. It's almost like a corporate strategy, but I'm sure no honest business would do such a thing.
