Embrace - For some reason my email is now not…
For some reason my email is now not associated with an account after I paid 469$ for an annual membership. Now have to go through the hassle of figuring out how to fix it so i can even put in a claim.
Embrace - I canceld my policy because of this.
I guess this leading statement in the comments box, "What went wrong this time?", explains their work. My dog is experiencing something to cause him to vomit and I've had numerous tests done on him to see what might be the cause. Because a vet visit 11 & 1/2 months ago mentioned vomiting, Embrace stated this is a preexisting condition. Vomiting? Really? Who has a dog who didn't. My case is extreme this time, but Embrace refused to reimburse me a dime on anything. They said he would be covered for vomiting in the future if he has no further case of it for 12 months. I guess I missed the window of opportunity by half a month.
Healthy Paws - Don't be deceived by the tons of fake…
Don't be deceived by the tons of fake "invited" reviews the company is producing in order to counter the very real and legitimate continuing trend of negative reviews. Healthy Paws has completely gone down the toilet and is utter garbage now.
I had them for my previous dog over a decade, until she passed away a few years ago and they were very good. Took care of everything with only minor issues. So, when I got a new dog, I obtained a new policy with them without question. BIG mistake. Should have read the reviews on places like Reddit and here to see what a trash heap they have become.
Healthy Paws of old is gone, and the new Healthy Paws is about massive policy increases and endless garbage BS excuses to not pay claims. Refused to pay my 4 digit medical bill for a procedure I approved because I was confident they would pay, but they refused. Communication is horrible, denials are just arbitrary, appeals non existent, phone support is off shored trash where they just read a script, customers regularly document insane premium increases of 100s of % from their starting point.
Stay FAR away from this dumpster fire of a company and do not let them cheat and deceive you with their sudden flood of "positive" reviews they purchased with "invited" positive feedback.
Spot - Denied my dog’s truth — they said Lilly was diagnosed when she never was 💔
I’m devastated by how Spot handled my dog Lilly’s claim.
They denied it saying she had already been “diagnosed with an incurable kidney disease,” which is completely untrue. In June, Lilly only had slightly elevated enzyme levels — no diagnosis, no treatment, and no indication of kidney disease from her veterinarian.
I switched to Spot because my previous insurer discontinued her policy and I wanted to keep protecting her in her final years. Instead of compassion, I received a denial based on false assumptions. Lilly is now gone, and the pain of losing her is already unbearable. What hurts even more is knowing this company made it worse — turning my grief into a battle to defend the truth.
No pet parent should be made to feel guilty or dismissed when all they did was love and care for their animal. I hope Spot learns to treat families with honesty and empathy. 💔

Fetch - I cancelled- Fetch still requesting medical records directly from vet
I never had a claim. I found some language in the contract that I didn't like. I cancelled within a couple of weeks. Got my refund. I was perfectly happy.
Now, a month later, I am getting emails from Fetch saying they are getting records from my vet. Why are they getting records about a dog that they don't even cover?
I will be watching my accounts closely- they better not try to keep billing me.
Fetch - Unhappy, Not Company
Most importantly, their premiums are raised annually at a higher rate. At least $40-$50 more a month. I've been with them for 5 years and sorry I picked them. Unfortunately, other insurance companies will not cover pre-existing conditions even if they are minor like an ear infection. Also, their operational phone hours are short. You're lucky to reach them before they close for the day. I should have gone with Trupanion.
Nationwide - I had major medical for 7 1/2 years
I had major medical for 7 1/2 years, never needed to use it. Nationwide cancelled my insurance in 2 months after he turned 8.
Can’t trust Nationwide, they took my money, increased premium each year and just cancelled the insurance I never even used.
MetLife - The price keeps going up every year
The price keeps going up every year. I pay more for my dogs insurance than I pay for my own health insurance. Not sure I will continue.
