Embrace - This insurance is a nightmare
This insurance is a nightmare. They never payed off their part, always looked for reasons to deny even though I was with them for 2 years since I got my dog as a 7 week old pup. Spent so much energy appealing every decision, involved my vet who wrote letters of explanations. Now I am done. Canceled the subscription and will never go back there again. I do not recommend getting involved with them even though USAA recommends them. Embrace is terrible, the worst!
ASPCA - The worst experience ever.
The worst experience ever.
we paid 131.96 a month for 12 months, and finally put in a claim, it was just our once a year visit, normal Exam, blood test, preventative care... which I added, for one cat, and they only paid 175 out of a 1017.00 Vet bill, no extras, no frills... so we paid 1575.00 to get no real preventative care at all.
Embrace - They are absolutely terrible
They are absolutely terrible, do not trust them with your pup insurance they deny, short pay, stall and delay any and all claims. The worst.
Healthy Paws - Former customer with really bad recent experiences
We had Healthy Paws since we adopted our dog almost 10 years ago. However, I got a recent notice via email that our premium would be increasing from $82 to over $400 dollars. All the documentation and notices in the online portal didn't adequately explain why, and none of the documents except the original email even mentioned the new amount, which was way at the bottom in basically the tiniest text possible. Extremely hard to cancel via email. I received three emails that acknowledged that my request had been received, but no real reply until I followed up with stronger wording, after which I was given the runaround again. Eventually I was able to get a (very nice) representative on the phone and canceled that way, but wow. I really think Healthy Paws has gone steeply downhill in the last couple of years and shifted to misleading practices that gave this longtime customer a horrible impression of them in the end.
Pets Best - Misleading practice
If your let has anything at all age related, they will deny any accidents as pre existing.
Trupanion - Very disappointed at the exclusions
Very disappointed at the exclusions. Failing to pay for all costs associated with my pets emergency is sneaky and unfair.
Trupanion - Fast Claims, Expensive Monthly Cost Increases
I like that Trupanion is quick with claim responses, and it's easy to understand what is or isn't covered and why.
I don't like the premium hikes each year which seem hefty and our dog is only just about to turn 3 in November, but I'm already wondering if we should shop around for other insurance options that are less pricey and with lower average price hikes each year...
MetLife - Premium doubled in about one year!
Premium doubled in about one year. No letter, just an email that could (and did) end up in the bin.
Shame on this company for squeezing pennies out of struggling families in these difficult times.
Embrace - Not as good as you think
Although representatives are nice, they are saying my pet’s visit are due to a pre-existing condition. My vet says it isn’t.
Why bother with insurance?
