Trupanion was the recommended service when we got our Maine Coon kitten from a breeder last year - it seemed good but pricy -and he's a healthy kitten so we've never had to file a claim ( and we knew upfront they would not cover his neutering last spring). Well, we got a shock message a few days ago that our premium would be going up 35%. Trupanion must have gotten complaints so they mailed an explanatory letter that we got today but apparently their printer ran out of ink so the only readable section was "new premium -$96" in blue ( can you say poor optics?). So we added him to the policy for our other cats with a different provider who has been great so far - less than half the cost. Unless your Vet does direct billing with Trupanion, these folks are just not worth it.

They are absolutely terrible, do not trust them with your pup insurance they deny, short pay, stall and delay any and all claims. The worst.

Doesn’t cover much

If your let has anything at all age related, they will deny any accidents as pre existing.

Trupanion is pretty good but very expensive. They have direct pay with many vets which is great! They charge you multiple deductibles unfortunately when the vet is running diagnostics trying to rule out different things- even though only 1 deductible should be charged. They are overall pretty good

Premium doubled in about one year. No letter, just an email that could (and did) end up in the bin. Shame on this company for squeezing pennies out of struggling families in these difficult times.

Very disappointed at the exclusions. Failing to pay for all costs associated with my pets emergency is sneaky and unfair.

I like that Trupanion is quick with claim responses, and it's easy to understand what is or isn't covered and why. I don't like the premium hikes each year which seem hefty and our dog is only just about to turn 3 in November, but I'm already wondering if we should shop around for other insurance options that are less pricey and with lower average price hikes each year...

Although representatives are nice, they are saying my pet’s visit are due to a pre-existing condition. My vet says it isn’t. Why bother with insurance?

Figo has a lot of language to make you think you're getting coverage where you're not. Their plans are designed to confuse you so you're left with the bill at the end of the day. When attempting to understand my coverage policies, I was hung up on, and then when I called back, I was rerouted multiple times.
