Figo - Do NOT choose FIGO pet insurance
I am not a fan. I had Lemonade insurance before moving to a state that didn’t accept Lemonade and had to switch to FIGO. I never had any issues with Lemonade and only encountered issues with FIGO. They will not reimburse you for ANYTHING! They will find any small detail to make sure they don’t have to pay you anything or contribute to your deductible. My cat was diagnosed with asthma after already having insurance and since they was 1 exam note from two years ago that he had a cough it was considered a pre-existing condition. I even paid extra for the vet fees wellness package and they didn’t cover my vet exam fee. FIGO sucks, don’t pick them.

I have an issue with rejection of a claim for an injury and have called several times and ask to speak with supervisor and no one has returned my call or addressed the issue. Very time consuming with a new oup

Trupanion - Pet insurance increase
In 1 year my pets insurance went from around $48.00to $75.00 and I am sure it’s because we had to use it. It is not practical for my pets insurance to increase that much in 1 year. My other pet’s insurance didn’t increase that much and it’s because we didn’t use it this past year.
Healthy Paws - They are a scam
Started at a reasonable price per month for my 2 cats. Every year the monthly cost went up $5-10.I have never made a claim. After around 9 years, just got a notice they are raising my premium around 300%! For no reason, when they advertised to enroll your pet at early age so you would not have these type of premium increases. Putting the money in a savings account rather than paying them any more, crazy scam.

I have been with Nationwide Pet Insurance almost 20 years. I was happy for the most part with their coverage and customer searches and ease of submitting claims. This year there were a lot of changes to the plans I already had for one of my dogs. I have been regularly unable to get into the website for to file claim and update my address for a few weeks now. I was pleased and surprised to find another pet insurance company with better coverage than Nationwide for a lot less. Highly recommend Pumpkin Pet Insurance and their customizable plans. Unlimited cap with 80% reimbursement and $250 deductible for up to $60 less a month for my 8 year old (that plan isn’t even available at Nationwide anymore) and $10 more a month for the same coverage for my 3 year old. Pumpkin’s wellness plan has more coverage too. Also they offer 10% discount on multiple pets vs NW 5%. They do have pre-existing conditions exclusions too but after investigating 10 different other pet insurance plans they still have better coverage than any of the rest. My vet recommended Pumpkin to me when I got my 3 year old as a puppy. Wish I had investigated it then. Would have saved me a lot of money due to Nationwide’s low coverage caps if I had changed to Pumpkin when I originally got my 3 year old.
Pets Best - Pet insurance rates
I purchased accident injury insurance for my 3 schnauzers a four years ago. The rate started at $192.08 per month for all three. In 2024 they increased the rate to $255.17. I have not had any claims in. Currently my Two of the dogs are 4 years old and the older male is now 14.They raised my rate in July to $404.58 a month, that is $4,854.96, I cancelled my policy today. I believe this is ridiculous.
Spot - Horrible customer service
Horrible customer service. You weren't able to get my pets vet records themselves even though it says you can do that. But whatever ok fine, I call my vet and have him send everything over. Then I get another email from you saying that the records aren't complete and you need more. I call my vet again and have him resend everything and also cc me in the email. Everything is there. I reply to you, "that's everything, we literally don't have more records." no reply for a week. My partner calls you and the person we spoke to insists on needing more records. There. Aren't. Any. I finally get another email back from you too, saying again that you need more records?!??!! I'm like how many godforsaken times do I need to tell you there literally are not more records!! Finally it seems like you bufoons get it, and start processing the claim. Miserable and stressful experience and a waste of my time and money.
