The vet was completely unprepared for the call that she took outside in front of her garage. I was looking for some long term maintenance for my cat chronic kidney disease including subcutaneous fluids and prescription medication. She said that is not something she can help with and she can not help with medication either. I found Dutch advertising to be completely misleading.
Dutch Pet Insurance - Don’t waste your time or money
It honestly hasn’t been a good experience. After much back and forth for my dog’s allergy meds they still require me to see an in person vet which negates the purpose of having on online vet. They originally said I could pick up my prescription at my local pharmacy but wouldn’t send the prescription to the pharmacy. Everything seemed to be about buying products from them rather than being about what was best for my pet. A complete waste of my time and it’s my dog that suffered.

Terrible. Kept advertising they could prescribe over video call and then after I signed up and paid they said that wasn’t available in my state. No one has responded to my request for refund either - very shady!
Dutch Pet Insurance - These people are crooks
These people are crooks. They get your $35, then bait u to spend more by lying. I have a kitten with conjunctivitis, and I scheduled a zoom meeting with a "doctor". She informed me my kitten needed Terramyacin, but she could not prescribe in the state of GA. Come to find out, no prescription is needed in GA for this, only CA. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!
Dutch Pet Insurance - Fast appointment SLOW Rx fill time
Got an appointment within hours. Vet was kind, friendly and professional. Prescribed meds and sent to their 'pharmacy'. There the order sat for 3 days and after the second day I emailed and said since the order had not even been processed yet, let alone sent out, please cancel the prescription order because I can see my own vet now and get meds same day! They ignored my email until the next day after which they said, sorry, we can't the order has been sent! The email saying the order was sent came at the same time as the customer service email. So they just waited and sat on the email until they had sent it out so there was nothing that could be done. They could have stopped it, they chose not to. Not useful service if they can't get your pet the meds they need! Do not recommend, sadly.
Dutch Pet Insurance - Dr. Gonzonlos is great. His non-medical staff should be fired.
Dr. Gonzalos is a 5+. Your non-medical staff sucks, can't even figure out how to change a schedule or how to recognize that a prescription can't be filled. Oh, and your inputs about things such as "how to write a useful review" were excrement.
Dutch Pet Insurance - Seeing a vet is fast but go elsewhere for meds
Being able to get a vet visit, diagnosis and treatment plan is fast and easy. Getting the meds is a completely different story. The cost and price match is true to what they advertise, but the time to get them (and that’s if your order isn’t cancelled for no apparent reason) takes too long. Pay the fees and have it transferred local or to Chewy etc.
Dutch Pet Insurance - Won't treat what they say they treat
We signed up today for a 1 year plan for $92. It is advertised that they treat urinary health for cats. Well our cat has a UTI and we were told they can do nothing and we have to go and make a vet appointment. So now we are out $92 for NOTHING. Do not sign up for this service.
Dutch Pet Insurance - Sign up for month FIRST!
Just signed up for membership and I should have done the month first. I’m in Arizona and they can’t give me a prescription without a currant vet visit first. So $92. to tell me I have to see a vet in town. You won’t know this until you sign up, do the month to start! The vet I did talk to was very nice and was able to give me a month worth of Apoquel and good advice. I was able to talk with a vet within the hour, she was knowledgeable and sympathetic with having to tell me about the visit with vet in town. It was $100 lesson. They do a good job, but only sign up for the month first!
Dutch Pet Insurance - Awful experience
Awful experience. Set up first meeting with a vet for 6pm. They sent several messages making sure I show up on time or will be charged a fee. I got on the zoom at 5:55pm and waiting with no response for the appointment to start. Just me in the zoom waiting for the host to start for 20 minutes before I gave up. Messaging the vet was met with the same no response. This is a scam! They got the annual fee and then are not providing the services. Avoid if you really want to talk with a vet. They just want the fees and then blow you off.
