Have an issue with your insurance?
Let everyone know!
Insurance companies are constantly reviewing us. Are we too old? Do we live in the wrong place? Is our credit score high enough? Well, now it's time to turn the tables. Do you charge too much? Will you pay my claim quickly? Is your coverage worse than it seems? We can review you too.
Trupanion - Trupanion makes up their OWN conditions So you keep having to pay the deductible
So trupanion unlike other providers, issues deductibles based on condition not per year. So my dog that has been insured with Trupanion for 8 years and only has a few minor claims. She had a bout of endometritis which she had a few years ago as well. The 400 deductible was almost met from previous claims but trupanion instituted their own condition and called it "discharge" instead of calling it endometritis and recharged me the entire deductible amount. My bill was for $700 bill, they paid me $100. This company used to be good but is now a rip-off! Their website supposedly has been upgraded but it is no upgrade and does not work well. Their owner's portal does not work at all!
Pet Insurance - Very upset client.
I have 2 dogs my old one is know 14 years old & my young one is 3 years old the old one has been with Nationwide since she was 3 years old recently I have received a letter indicating since they are changing their policy meaning cancelling X Ray, blood tests,EKG, nationwide has charged me fool price every single mounts for the major medical plan & wellness for 11 years & know that my girl is 14 years old they are changing policies.
Embrace Pet Insurance - Spent thousands, reimbursed a few hundred
I’ve carried insurance on two dogs for the span of almost their lifetimes. One pup I dropped insurance at age 8, the other kept until she passed (more active dog). When my pup was diagnosed with lymphoma, I thought I’d be happy to have the insurance. I was reimbursed for 1/4 of what was I spent. Cancer meds not being covered, consult fees not being covered. I’m really wondering now if the thousands I spent on pet insurance was ever really worth it.
Embrace Pet Insurance - I've been with Embrace for about 5…
I've been with Embrace for about 5 years now to insure my 2 cats, and at first it was great. Submitting claims is easy with a quick turn around time for reimbursement. But things changed over the years as one of my cats started getting older. At this point I am most likely going to have to cancel because their prices tripled. Insuring your cats health should not cost as much as a ridiculous monthly car payment and it might just make more sense pocketing that amount and saving it to pay out of pocket for any future visits. If you have any cats that are getting older with some on-going medical issues, don't be surprised if you end up paying $5000+ a year for Embrace. There needs to be some sort of laws in place for these insurance companies to prevent them from 3x-4x'ing their prices with nothing you can do about it.
Pet Insurance - I wish underwriting was faster
I wish underwriting was faster. Once complete and we have our first appointment I can see how I like the coverage.
Lemonade - Not a great experience with them
Not a great experience with them. Poor communication - not sure if I was communicating with a real person or AI. It was mostly canned reply and never address my questions or concerns. I hope they get better but I would not work with them again. Switch to a company with slightly higher rate but better service, communication and coverage.
Pet Insurance - Ambiguous Expectations
I was surprised after the application process was completed to learn that I would need to obtain and submit 12 months of veterinary records for my pet to complete the underwriting process. While this is fine, this requirement should have been clearly communicated on the front end of the process. The perception is that the company wants to get potential customers started with a "simple" process only to disclose requirements once they have started the process. This does not leave a perception of 'honesty' with the customer and leaves one wondering what the experience might be if one engages with Nationwide for Pet Insurance.
Lemonade - Lemonade Pet Insurance has been a major…
Lemonade Pet Insurance has been a major disappointment. I insured my 5 year old pup, Ollie, with Nationwide Pet Insurance for years and never had an issue, claims were processed within 2–3 business days. With Lemonade, my recent claim sat for over a month before being denied due to a so called “pre-existing condition”. Their reasoning? That my dog had diarrhea before. Honestly, what dog hasn’t had diarrhea at some point? The only reason I switched to Lemonade was to save some money, but in the long run, it’s cost me more in time, stress, and uncovered expenses. I will gladly pay more and switch back to Nationwide.
Healthy Paws Pet Insurance - Do NOT choose this insurance.
Substantial increases with no explanation, denying coverage claiming "pre-existing" conditions when that was not the case.
MetLife Pet Insurance - Length of time to have claim worked is…
Length of time to have claim worked is much longer than what is quoted on the website when submitting a claim. I have had to wait sometimes 3+ weeks to have them worked completely.
