Have an issue with your insurance?
Let everyone know!
Insurance companies are constantly reviewing us. Are we too old? Do we live in the wrong place? Is our credit score high enough? Well, now it's time to turn the tables. Do you charge too much? Will you pay my claim quickly? Is your coverage worse than it seems? We can review you too.
Dutch Pet Insurance - Don’t expect meds to arrive quickly without spending more on shipping than the meds themselves…..
Paid for an annual membership, and met with a vet via Zoom. Vet advised he would prescribe 2 medications for my very sick cat. He also stated that my cat could potentially be fine in one to two weeks, and that if not, I’d have to take him to an emergency vet.
Healthy Paws Pet Insurance - Absolutely one of the worst insurances…
Absolutely one of the worst insurances that you can find. They are happy to take a payment gradually dramatically increasing monthly payments with very minimal coverage and multiple denials. As soon as your annual will get sick you will get drop-off without any ability to get back on insurance
Dutch Pet Insurance - Inexpensive but not without flaws
The subscription is inexpensive and even with the medication cost, it is still cheaper than going to the vet. My biggest complaint is their customer service / refund policy. During the vet consultation, I asked if this is something that my cat needed to be treated immediately for and the vet said no, just make sure to pay for expedited shipping and I’d have the medication in a day or two. So, I paid an additional $15 for express shipping with it showing I’d have delivery by EOD on Tuesday (I placed the order Sunday morning). Upon tracking the shipment, UPS has it marked delayed and it’s in several states away from where I live. I reached out to Dutch’s customer service to see if the $15 shipping could be refunded, because it was not delivered as expected and most likely won’t be delivered until Thursday (if then). Their customer service responded they would not be refunding, the express window is 1-3 days and it is in transit. Again, UPS clearly shows that it is delayed in a different state, not “In Transit” - meaning it is not actively on its way to me. I don’t hold Dutch responsible for whatever is happening with UPS, but my expectation was for delivery of a medication today and now I don’t even have a delivery date. My cat is in a lot of discomfort and needs medication and I will have to take her to her regular vet to ensure she receives timely treatment. Overall, I canceled the subscription and will just pay for in person visits moving forward. I know that my vet cares about my pet’s wellbeing and that is worth more than a cheap subscription.
ASPCA Pet Insurance - INCOMPLETE COVERAGE
HORRIBLE coverage--hardly covers anything and this company has the gall to charge customers $127 per month! Absolutely USELESS insurance! Additionally, keeps hounding customers to submit health records even when customers have submitted all health records and STILL hardly covers anything, which ends up costing consumers MORE money than not having insurance.
Prudent Pet - Disappointed with Prudent Pet policies
This was my first interaction with Prudent Pet since signing up my pet. I was very disappointed with their policies. I wanted to add exam coverage, but was told that I couldn’t add it until the renewal date and that if I filed any claim at all I would never be able to add it. I think that is completely unfair. I would appreciate flexibility in modifying my plan. I was also told that if I have a dental claim for a tooth extraction or something similar it is likely to be denied if the vet has ever previously made a note that the pet has plaque. I have gotten my pet’s teeth cleaned each year, but am sure that plaque is mentioned somewhere, because there is always plaque, even with cleanings and brushing. Prudent Pet is very expensive coverage compared to other options. I went with them because their representative told me they were good with paying claims and customer service. So far, I am not finding that to be the case and am strongly considering changing insurance companies.
ASPCA Pet Insurance - 44% YOY premium increase
The fact they think they can justify raising my premium 44% YOY is unheard of. They want us to be ok with how spending 4k a year for a max return of $2500 is worth it.
Dutch Pet Insurance - In concept this service is great
In concept this service is great. However, lots of issues with getting the help needed. I signed up on Sat afternoon when I noticed my dog had blood in his urine. He’s had this before with frequent UTIs. We just needed an antibiotic without going to the emergency vet on the weekend. I signed up but the earliest appt was at 8 pm at night. Ugh. We had the appt and the vet was great! Antibiotic ordered. She suggested transferring to local pharmacy to get treatment started right away. I got treatment plan and transferred med to local pharmacy with a $5 transfer fee. This morning, I called pharmacy to confirm and no prescription. Treatment plan isn’t listed in my account though the $5 fee is there. You can’t reach a customer support person on the weekend so I can’t get the med!!! Now I am back to square one and have spent a considerable amount of time trying to sort this out. Very disappointing!
ASPCA Pet Insurance - They denied every claim I submitted…
They denied every claim I submitted claiming it was a pre- existing condition- when it was not. ASPCA wouldn’t even cover the euthanasia for my dog who ended up having cancer. Initially, he was diagnosed with pneumonia and only after multiple vet visits did they determine it was lung cancer. The denied my vet visit claim and his end of life care. I paid hundreds and hundreds of dollars for absolutely nothing. I’ve signed my other dogs up for a different insurance. I wouldn’t trust them to honor any claims moving forward.
Dutch Pet Insurance - I'm glad this option exists for my 90lb…
I'm glad this option exists for my 90lb arthritic senior dog, because I cannot lift her into the car, and pet steps/ramp are too scary for her. The vet was no-nonsense, & 10 minutes later I had a script for pain reliever.
Dutch Pet Insurance - I have added to my cart a large seresto…
I have added to my cart a large seresto collar and it came out to when done checking out a small seresto collar was added instead I don’t know how and the worst part is they couldn’t contact pharmacy to tell them I wanted a large collar and or a refund none of those could of been done . I’m disappointed.
