Aetna - Is this a surprise act violation? Need help
Update: Thank you for all the responses and suggestions. This is my first time ever dealing with insurance so was a little confused. I believe I have figured out what the issue was.
I was seeing an in network gynecologist and they requested I get an ultrasound. The gynecologist had me scheduled with the hospital but said I can cancel and find another provider to try and find a cheaper place. I found an imaging clinc that says online that they take Aetna and so I scheduled with this place. They took my insurance information and I called them 3 times prior to my appointment to confirm the price of the service. They had stated the service was $245 every time I called and that I wouldn't owe anything more then that. I went to the clinic and before getting the ultrasound done again asked about the price. They said it would be $245 and so I swiped my card. I asked again if I would get another bill later and they said no that this is all that I would owe. I did the ultrasound and before I left I had them print the bill. They printed it for me and it shows that the good faith estimate was $245, which is what I paid upfront. A month later I received a bill from the clinic for $400 and upon checking the insurance claim I see $400 going to deductible and another $401 saying "pending or not payable" with my total share being $801. It seems my insurance is not covering anything. I had no idea that they would not cover anything or that this place was "out of network" as it literally says they take Aetna. I was reassured multiple times that the $245 was all that I would owe. I told them many times that I would cancel my appointment if there is the possibility that I would be charged more. The good estimate bill doesn't even show the actual price of the procedure nor how much my insurance would cover. I am so mad. How do I debate? Do I file a complaint? It also seems like my insurance is unaware that I've already paid $245. Please help!!! Another $800 bill on top of the $245 is insane.
GEICO - GEICO removed drive easy …?
GEICO removed my telematics discount after a month. Not exactly sure why the score seemed fine , in the high 80s, and it had been used regularly.
It is what it is, not sure I see the point in arguing with them. It drained battery any way. However, I’m concerned about how much more it will go up at renewal. Anyone have experience with this?
Blue Select - Please help me find health insurance
I need to find an insurance plan asap as only recently have I been told I can’t get Medicaid here in Florida , I am from NC and moved down to Florida last year to live with my boyfriend and his family , the only plans I can find have horrible deductibles and 90 dollar specialist visits!!! I am sadly a rare case and need to see multiple specialists multiple times a week normally and can’t pay 90 dollars a visit along with 400 dollars a month on insurance as I haven’t worked in over a year and my boyfriend cares for me financially. I’ve heard of blue select but that is definitely not an option for me as I stated I will need to see specialist multiple times a week and the deductible is so small , I am 21 years old please help! I’ve always been on my parents insurance but clearly it’s NC Medicaid and not Florida so I can’t use it out of nc
Physicians Mutual - Questions about Physicians Mutual
I’m looking for reviews of Physicians Mutual pet insurance and wondering if anyone can answer some questions I have about their sample policy. I’m mainly wondering about their “per incident copay” and “covered incident limit”. I called for more information and the guy I spoke to acted like that was the first he’d ever heard of those terms. So I’m wondering if anyone knows what these copays and limits are or if they even exist? Any info is appreciated!!
Furkin Insurance - Insurance monthly premium
My dogs Furkin Insurance monthly premium just went up $18! Is this normal?!
my insurance company - Car accident advice
I just recently got into a car accident where I was turning left on and intersection right after my light turned green, and the other driver was to my right side driving straight through the intersection with a red light.
They hit me on the front right side of my car and my car was deemed totalled.
I called the insurance company and she has not yet made a detailed statement on her insurance or police report (the accident happened at around 6pm on Monday). My insurance is deeming this 100% my fault. How do I get out of this? It obviously was not my fault as she ran then red, but they are saying there is no proof to her running a red light, which is true, I have none. But why does it then have to be 100% my fault? It is so so frustrating, and I would like some help going forward with this.
I haven’t signed any papers for the insurance company yet and am hoping to dispute this. Do I have a leg to stand on? Thanks.
Edit: I should also add that I have told my insurance company about her carrying an expired insurance sheet and her driving for Uber Eats with her car not registered as a commercial used vehicle.
her insurance - Neighbor Scraped My Car and Denies It — Should I Deal With Their Insurance Adjuster or Go Through Mine?
My neighbor scraped my car in our shared apartment garage. I park right next to her every day, and the scratch on my vehicle lines up perfectly with damage on hers. To top it off, her paint color is visibly transferred onto my car and vice versa..
She’s claiming she didn’t do it, but I’ve already filed a claim with her insurance and an adjuster has reached out. The adjuster says they’re still trying to determine liability since my neighbor is denying everything.
Here’s where I’m stuck:
-Should I keep working with her insurance and try to prove it to the adjuster directly?
-Or should I go through my own insurance (which would mean paying a deductible upfront) and let them fight it out behind the scenes?
I’d prefer to avoid paying anything out of pocket, but I also don’t want to risk her insurer denying the whole thing and leaving me with the bill. Any insight from people who’ve been through this or know the industry would be really appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
USAA - Got rear ended and found a discrepancy in my policy I’m worried about
I got rear ended (hit and run) but it resulted in me hitting someone else. The guy I hit has a tiny scratch on his car and there’s deep crack mine that’s barely noticeable. The guy didn’t seem to care, he was fine, and seemed like he was in a hurry to get out of there before the police arrived. I got his license plate and he got my insurance information but I forgot to get his. Since there’s like barely any damage and no one got hurt do you think he’ll report it?
I’m worried because I have USAA but it’s the bare minimum and when checking my insurance policy, I realized I put that I own my vehicle but it’s actually leased. I still owe a few thousand on it. I want to be honest with my insurance but I am so worried about the resulting possibly financial burden. I live in VA if that matters.
Geico - Am I getting scammed or is this normal?
I posted here a couple days ago about a stolen motorcycle (thank you all for reminding me not to commit fraud) and I called Geico about some questions I had. The told me I could get the collision and comprehensive policy right now, after the theft, and if the person who stole my motorcycle gets into a crash with a stationary object or another car and the motorcyclist is at fault I could be compensated. I got qouted for the coverage and it's $4,717.62! I paid $791.07 originally and the new total will be $5,508.69. I'm assuming since this policy covers the vehicle its more but $4,717.62 is absolutely crazy. I don't think I will be getting the policy at this point because of the depreciation on the bike makes it worth around $8,000 and the insurance would be almost half what the bike is worth. Even at rates of a new rider that seems fairly high. I apologize for the rant,
QUESTION: Is this a normal quote for the policy on a motorcycle or is that something because I am a new rider?
viagogo - Sabrina Carpenter - viagogo
Hi all, I’m not sure if this is the appropriate place to put this but I’m at my wits end.
I (27, F, England) decided to buy Sabrina carpenter tickets via viagogo as I didn’t manage on Ticketmaster. I had my first suspicion as it charged me with HK yen and not GBP, but viagogo assured me that it was all legit and if not I’ll get my money back.
Fast forward to last week, I start a new place and forgot to ask for time off for the gig. So I decide to sell the tickets (even tho I don’t have them yet, apparently they’ll be coming on the day of the gig) and someone decided to get them a few hours after I listed them.
Imagine my surprise when I woke up today and see an email from Viagogo saying that if I don’t put the tickets up by tomorrow evening, they’ll be charging me all the money (that I do not currently have) and not the original seller I bought them from? And apparently the original seller is still telling me the tickets will come on the gig day? Why am I getting pressured to send tickets I do not have earlier than what I’m getting the tickets?
What can I do if they decide to do this? Can I talk to my bank and issue a refund? Can I take them to the police for pretty much stealing my money? I need help.
