I’ve owned dogs my entire life and have volunteered for the Humane Society for many years. This is the first time I purchased pet insurance and I will never do it again based on my experience with Lemonade. Lemonade is by far the most disgraceful insurance company I’ve ever worked with. They will take any tiny little word out of the history of your pets health and completely turn it against you. I adopted a dog and literally purchased this insurance just days later. Because she had diarrhea after changing her from the shelter food, they immediately refused to pay for any kind of gastrointestinal issues due to newly developed IBD even a full year later. Not only that, because she’s a scared dog and had a stress related heart murmur in her very first vet visit, they would not cover arrhythmias due to a heart issue that she developed later in life. This company is a prime example of why people demonize health insurance. Their behavior is absolutely disgusting. I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone. Do not waste your time or money, this company is an ABSOLUTE DISGRACE!!!

I had recently had a situation where my key broke off in the lock of my house. I have two additional needs children that I needed to get into the house to sort but when I tried to contact Lemonade for guidance, they didnt reply to the live chat. In a panic, I had to call an emergency locksmith out to drill the lock and replace it. I put in a claim

Waiting on a pet insurance claim now for 6 weeks, email replies are always the same, apologize for lengthy delays but I’m still waiting. I am cancelling all my policies with them and switching to a more reliable company.

Totally useless do not purchase any insurance as they treat you like a criminal and want receipts for a TV that was bought 8 years ago and this was originally reported on 29th July it’s now 21st September and they are still dragging their feet asked them to accept or decline claim , they won’t , and they sold me insurance that is not fit for purpose.

Don’t waste your money with this company. I filed three claims for my dog and after waiting for more than three weeks for payment, they say they are still reviewing the claims. They have no intention of paying me obviously. They’ll keep asking you for more information and more information just to find an excuse to not pay your claim. Once you think you’ve given them everything they need, they’ll come up with something else that they need. Pretty soon they just exhaust your patience and you come to realize that you’re never gonna get paid and you’ll cancel them like I did.

Gave them all my personal information. Just for them to tell me right after we can't insure your car. With a perfect driving record

This place is a horrible scam, my cat had insurance then aged up while on the policy and they canceled it when i tried to do the right thing and tell them she aged up. When i called to try to get an answer as to why they canceled (as they didnt give me a reason just said it was canceled in an email) they hung up on me it took 3 times to get through to a person only for someone to tell me she was now too old and they wont cover her. They said it would cancel on the first of the next month in an attempt to keep more of my money (so they could prorate and keep a larger amount of premiums), so i filed a claim from the time before it canceled, and they moved the date of canceling to avoid paying the claim. Awful company do not use it for pet insurance, a bunch of shady stuff not worth the head ache.
