Hello I hit a deer a couple of weeks ago with our 2015 Subaru Outback. The damage is simply cosmetic, but our insurer (Meemic) deemed it a total loss. The car probably has another 100k miles of life left and the absolute LAST THING ON EARTH we want to do is deal with buying a car again. We haven't built up the reserves to pay cash, and I just about refuse to pay interest on such a miserable asset through a car loan. Can someone help explain to me the insurance issues moving forward as we *will* continue to drive this vehicle? What to prepare for?
