MetLife - Frustating
Frustrating about long time payout from Metlife and requesting documents again when already submitted also trying to raise the amount payout for to higher and mentioned only do 30 days prior new benefit and in California there is no rewards for member
MetLife - Good coverage but terrible claims processes
Metlife has wonderful humans and are great when talking directly to them. They also have great coverage in that they cover preventatives, and have decent rates. However, their claims process is miserable compared to alternatives like Trupanion. The submission process manages to be rigid and clunky at the same time- and does not allow for enough information on the forms, which then necessitates additional requests for information. Those requests often get lost in review, causing additional delays. I have had several claims take more than 30 days to process and take multiple calls to try to get their own teams to understand that they already had the information they need.
MetLife - The wait times are way too long and…
The wait times are way too long and they don’t cover enough things. Also pre-existing conditions should be covered, that is a scam.
MetLife - My claims take 30 plus days even when I…
My claims take 30 plus days even when I upload invoice and soap notes. Also, have claims denied with sufficient explanation. Have 2 dogs, 6 claims and only 3 approved. Terrible customer service. Going back to Spot.
MetLife - Horrific company, akin to UnitedHealthCare.
MetLife loves to take money from unsuspecting pet owners after being loyal to them for years without usage. This past renewal beginning 6-17-25, has an almost 50% markup from the prior year. They aren’t able to justify the high cost and yet now I’m stuck paying $150 or leave. Then my dog has “pre existing conditions” and other insurances won’t take him. I feel stuck and as if MetLife is exploiting pet owners on a daily basis.
MetLife - This has gotten so insanely expensive…
This has gotten so insanely expensive for monthly premiums (3 dogs) that I am not so sure it is worth $400+ per month any longer. Just greed & ridiculous costs.
MetLife - Just about every time I send a claim
Just about every time I send a claim, Metlife responds by saying "not enough info, need dr's notes etc". I send them everything my nvet gives me... including the dr's notes and itemized invoices! I have my cat insured under another company and I never have these problems with them.
MetLife - you cover very few procedures and…
you cover very few procedures and charge a ton of money each month. will likely consider canceling next year.
MetLife - Reimbursement is taking way to long
Reimbursement is taking way to long to process over the last year. 5-7 business days has turned into a few weeks or like my last submission, a month. If I'm late with my payment, I would get cancelled. Why is it ok for my reimbursement to take so long
MetLife - Goes up every year
Goes up every year, have only used once in 10 years
