Depending on the claim so time a while for reimbursement
MetLife - Delay tactics to avoid paying simple claim
Straightforward claim for a heart murmur has been held up nearly a month. They keep requesting prior insurance information even though we’ve provided it and it’s not a preexisting condition. The vet records clearly show it was not preexisting. Spoken with 4 reps, none of them have been able to help. They couldn’t even see documents we had uploaded on the app. Asked to speak to a supervisor, nothing.
Seems to be a delay and deny tactic to avoid paying claims. Not feeling confident about future claims or retaining this policy.

MetLife - Atrocious Claim Processing
Even though Met Life has all of my dog's medical records since 2018, they routinely take 4 -5 weeks to process claims, even on simple ones for routine medication. Avoid them at all costs! Unfortunately, I am stuck with them because my dog was recently diagnosed with a heart murmur and subsequent heart disease. So, it would be impossible to switch to another company as this would now be a preexisting condition.

Great customer service and solid coverage. But getting reimbursed can sometimes take a while, especially compared to other companies that advertise same day reimbursement.
MetLife - Compared to other Pet insurance
Compared to other Pet insurance, it takes you folks way too long to process a claim. But I am very thankful for the coverage that your pet policy covers, including prescription and supplement medication recommended by my vet veterinarian.
MetLife - Claims are very slow to process
Claims are very slow to process. Customer service agents read from a script and provide no actual help.
MetLife - Your claims just take too long to…
Your claims just take too long to process. Here’s an example. I have prescription food that has already been approved and other claims have already been paid for this prescription food. When I submit claims for this same food, they should not be taking over 10 days to process.
MetLife - You wrongly DENY just about everything I submit
Just about everything I submit, which are all legit and covered expenses, are rejected over and over. Then the claim is closed. I am currently dealing with this situation on denials of monthly refills for a Simparica script that was already approved!
We rescued this dog after she had been in two "forever homes" and at least 3 fosters, and I keep explaining that we have provided every single thing we have on her past records (which shouldn't even matter!). It is sooooo frustrating! Sometimes they are FINALLY paid after months of back and forth, though nothing is different, so the denials seem false and unethical.
