Pawp - I had an eight and a half year old…
I had an eight and a half year old chocolate lab. Blood cancer went to emergency for 3 days and did not make it. Went through all the protocols with pawp. Took a loan out for $3,600 thinking I would get paid back $3000 because my emergency funds were activated they denied it. If you were thinking of joining this run, and run fast!
Pawp - Definition of Emergency too Narrow
The type of services covered should be reevaluated. My dog was actively bleeding from the bite of another dog and I was told that because it wasn’t “life threatening” that it wouldn’t be covered. This was a Sunday and Monday was a holiday. So without going to the emergency vet, my dog would have had to wait several days. I took him anyway and will pay out of pocket, but in this situation it could have become life threatening if he had gotten an infection. I really disagree with this decision and am concerned about the threshold for coverage.
Pawp - I thought it would make things easier, I was wrong.
I decided to utilize Pawp because I thought there would be less friction. I simply needed to order my pets flea meds. Well now its been over a month. Pawp still has not shipped the meds and my actual vet won't fill the perception direct to me because it was already approved for Pawp. Pawp has made no progress in the last few weeks. I'm messaging support every few days and they never have any updates. Again its been over 30 days, that's 160 working hours that they had to simply get this resolved but they still have not. Its a pretty simple process to get a flea med filled, now my vet won't refill for 3 months because that's the timeline for the next prescriptions. Not a great experience and it truly seems like whoever is in charge to resolve this has not done anything.
Pawp - Not the best but still appreciate what they do
The only reason I still have an active membership here is bc I accidentally auto renewed it. They are very short and snippy and kind of rude— if I’m being honest. They make you feel kind of dumb when you ask them questions, unlike other virtual vets I have used that are super kind and seem to actually care about my dog. Last month, she had to have emergency surgery and I only took her in because another virtual vet told me that it was absolutely an emergency! Pawp just said “yeah it’s probably an emergency” nonchalantly and didn’t really make me feel that worried that it was an emergency. I just don’t like how they feel cold in conversing with them when other apps have people that talk very warmly. When I’m worried about my dog I don’t want to talk to someone that’s being cold and acting like they are better than me, like I am a dumb dog mom that doesn’t take care of my dog. But I accidentally renewed my subscription so I guess I’ll be keeping it so I can use the emergency fund oh well
Pawp - Not Timely and Site not user friendly
I submitted my claim three weeks ago and have heard nothing. My account wouldn't load for 2 weeks after and when it finally did, I can't find a place where the claim would be?
Pawp - Don’t use Pawp it’s a scam!!!
Don’t use Pawp it’s a scam!!!
Pawp - Such a scam
Such a scam. I had a dog with bladder stones and they just denied the claim without any reasons. Have had the "insurance" for well over a year also. Beware of this company!
Pawp - PAWP is LOUSY!!!!!!!
On July 16, 2022, my dog had to be rushed to the emergency room. She was in distress due to an inability to breathe. When we got to the emergency room, the veterinarian immediately put her in an oxygen crate, sedated her, and told us she was critical. She was admitted to the hospital for a two day stay. I immediately called Pawp, and they were completely useless. The rep I spoke to was Julie, and she politely said "although it looks like she's in distress, her gums are pink -- I'm not activating your emergency fund." While my dog is in distress, I'm on the phone with Pawp -- I feel like I'm bargaining with her -- so I could get help for my dog. Julie eventually broke down and said "the most I can do is have your case reviewed after you pay for all services, and Pawp may or may not reimburse you." She went on to tell me how they're a traditional insurance company, and this is how it goes. And then said they have to do this because she can't tell if I'm just trying to get money. I was so offended by these comments, and I can't believe Pawp hires such rude people.
Pawp - Not Aware of How to Use the Insurance
The person I "talked to" was very helpful and talked with me. She explained that I needed to let them know about taking Nugget to the veterinary hospital. She told me to call on my phone to find out if I can get help with paying for my dog's illness. First of all, I think the organization needs to make very clear how we are supposed to use the insurance. I didn't know that I was supposed to call Pawp before I go to the hospital. It is not what I am thinking when my dog needs to get help. Second, I tried to call and never got an answer, not before taking the dog to the veterinary. That was not helpful at all. I want to keep some sort of insurance for my two dogs. I do not have a lot of money, as I am retired. My dog's bill will be $1,250. And, I assume it will be more when I take her back for a check-up. I want to let you know that I am overwhelmed and would appreciate my suggestions for others. Thank-you.
Pawp - This is the worst service
This is the worst service! I subscribed thinking it would be a great solution for me and my pets for any after hours emergencies. I have several animals and all are spayed and or neutered but one. Personal life happened and I did not get her in to be spayed in time and was letting a stray inside to eat and of course the unintended happened. Now my baby is having complications after hours and they just blow it off. The emergency fund does not cover a complication during pregnancy because "you can avoid that" in their terms. They don't even ask for video or photos to see if they can help. They basically say that since you let your animal get knocked up then their life doesn't matter anymore.
