Hey everyone, We recently adopted a puppy from a rescue center, and he’s been such a sweet little guy. On the same day we brought him home, we also signed up for pet insurance with Pets Best Insurance because I read a lot of good reviews. Unfortunately, just about five days later, he got really sick and was diagnosed with puppy strangles. He’s been on corticosteroids for the past three weeks now, and we’ve had multiple vet visits—for treatment, vaccinations, and other related care. So far, I’ve paid around $1,000 out of pocket. I submitted a claim to the insurance company, but they rejected it, saying it falls within the waiting period. I get that there’s a waiting period, but we had no idea he was going to get sick when we signed up for the policy. Has anyone else dealt with something like this? Is there any way to appeal or get around the waiting period issue? Also, if I switch to another insurance provider now, will this count as a pre-existing condition, and will they refuse to cover anything related to this illness? Appreciate any advice or shared experiences—just trying to navigate this unexpected situation the best I can. Thanks!

Hello people, I am a bit of a pickle right now :( I have been trying to cancel my Pets Best subscription/insurance for a good few days with no luck, the main reason why is because their prices have got up by a lot, and it simply isn’t in my budget atm, plus (knock on wood), my two cats are perfectly healthy besides the usual meowing because they aren’t allowed to eat every 5 mins. I have called them so many times but I have been put on hold for 25-30 mins. It is really frustrating because I am worried they will charge me despite low funds in my account, making my account go into the negatives. And of course, me not wanting to pay 59 bucks a month when it was originally 47 bucks a month when I first joined almost 2 years ago. If anyone has any advice, please share.
