Progressive - Release of All Claims
Someone hit my house with their car and caused property damage. The driver was determined to be liable and has Progressive insurance. I have an active third party claim with Progressive. The adjuster provided an estimate for the damages and a release of all claims form to sign in order to receive the settlement. Once signed, the release prevents any supplemental claims from the accident.
I believe the estimate should cover the repairs, but I am not comfortable signing the release until the repairs are finished, or at least started, so I know for sure there are no further damages that are not visible.
Do I have to sign the release before starting work or is the expectation that I would sign it at conclusion of work? Is there a specific amount of time in which I am required to sign the release of all claims form after it is initialized? My preference is to wait, but this is all new to me, and I am worried about making a mistake. My adjuster has not been very forthcoming with information, so I wanted to come here first for advice.
Any info, especially related to Progressive third party claims, is appreciated.
Progressive - Diminished value claim in WI
My 2024 Hybrid XLE Rav4 got pushed into a ditch while on the freeway with less than 7K miles on it. Opposing driver did admit fault and the car's recently been repaired. Subrogation is completed and I received a refund for my deductible. I have the total cost of repairs receipt equaling out to around 15 K and currently have one of my friends who works in finance at a dealership pulling up some numbers to compare my car pre-accident value and now. I have the police report and some pictures of damages.
I already hit up progressive and they essentially just said to send whatever it is I have over but I feel like there should be more to it.
If anyone knows anything about this and is willing to help, I'd appreciate it.

Progressive - Car accident ( progressive )
I suffer severe injuries after being struck by a car! The lawyer called me today to tell that progressive insurance is only going to pay $25,000 for my injuries and that my medical insurance will cover my bills . And they research the guy and he has no assets to sue him!! I am devastated that I nearly died in this accident, everything is gone, and I am mentally ruined. Could you kindly advise me on what to do? Thanks
Progressive - Progressive almost doubled my rate at renewal
I decided to go with progressive when I purchased my new car in march. I paid $850 for my 6 month plan. I just got my renewal and they want 1400!! I used the snapshot and got 4/5 start, haven't had any tickets or accidents since I started with them. I hit a deer in November of 24 but that was report on my first plan so what's making my rate so high? I got on their website and did a quote for myself (including the deer accident) and it said $700 for 6 months.
Progressive - First accident, subrogation, person handed me expired license policy
The other day I was at a grocery store where I parked my car far away form the busy area purposefully with a Mustang. I was walking out, saw the accident happen live, and turns out the person messed up the front left side of my car. bumper also kinda came off. Some dent/paint damages. No tire damages. Nothing internally (hopefully). Still drivable.
The car was parked, plenty of space in the park lane, and thankfully I was able to be there and watch it happen to stop the person, grab some pictures of their license plate, exchange contact, and even snap a picture of the person's insurance policy. Thinking back, I probably should have called the police and filed a police report, but immediately I filed an insurance claim with my insurance company, Progressive.
Unfortunately, my policy doesn't have an uninsured motorist vehicle coverage for collision. On top, my deductible is pretty high. 2500.
I had to learn a lot of these things and also like what a subrogation is, but that's basically what's happening right now because I sent my car to the shop and I tried getting in contact with the other party after I figured out i learned that their insurance policy has expired and seems like my agent as well tried contacting them with no response. I even tried contacting their policy with the expired information to see if there was anything active and it turns out there wasn't in their logs. And the insurance company basically just kind of hinted me to screw off after they realized that there was no other information available or logs on their end.
So after speaking with my agent and I'm still waiting to get the final quote and stuff from the shop, I believe they're going to start a subrogation process. I have no idea if they have an active policy there or if they have something else.
Now, with all this in mind, I'm not sure what to expect here. Unfortunately, I do have to put up the 2500 for the repairs. I think what's gonna happen is that they're gonna try to get my money back somehow, see if they have any active policies, and from what I've heard online is that this can take anywhere from a few weeks to months to maybe even years, I'm not sure.
But from what I understand, is it right that there is no guarantee that I'll get my money back, especially if they were not insured? And if they were not insured, does that mean my insurance company is going to try to come after them In any way possible to get the money back?
I'm just kind of concerned here because this is my first accident. it was kind of a BS since it wasn't my fault. Happened right in front of me and at the same time, I'm just not sure what to expect here.
Progressive - Progressive claims they paid $5,000 to pick up my car from the tow yard. Tow yard is claiming Progressive paid them nothing.
Hi, I am really lost and in need of advice. I was involved in an accident where my car had to be towed away (edit: to a combined autobody & tow shop). Because the airbag deployed, they were assuming it would be totaled, and Progressive said they were coming to pick it up to evaluate the damage themselves; not allowing the body shop to give an estimate. (edit: 2013 Kia Optima) I was told by Progressive that the driver at fault carried the minimum property damage allowed by the state of Maryland and he was "afraid we were nearing that limit since they paid $5,000 to get my car released from the tow lot." My car was there for 1 week (8-5 thru 8-12) and I released it to Progressive on (8-8), they just didn't pick it up until today, 8-12. I thought that was a crazy amount, so I called the tow yard(edit: combined tow yard/body shop). They claim Progressive did not pay them a dime. The body shop only received a check from a salvage company (which I didn't (at least knowingly) authorize, and they don't even have proof of the title in my name.) The tow yard (edit: combined tow yard/body shop) is claiming that even though they got a salvage check, that shouldn't affect the amount insurance should pay me. Does anyone have any additional information or advice? Is this just a "he said / she said" situation? TYIA!
Progressive - Need advice!!
I’m looking for auto insurance but I keep getting ridiculous monthly quotes from $700 to $900. I’m a 2nd year college student, 20 years old had my license since I was 18, no accidents. I don’t have any car under my name, but i would be trying to get an old mercedes insured which is considered a “sports” car (family car they don’t use) for some reason. I am currently living with my parents, last time i called, progressive started charging my parents for me to NOT drive, to be an excluded driver. Which was crazy to me. I had to call and tell them I moved address. I tried getting a quote using a fake address saying I live with a friend but they started naming people in said address and asking for their DOBs (which i also read was fraudish?). I really don’t know what to do, i need to commute to school full time, but money is tight with classes, any advice ? Thanks !
Progressive - Adjuster sent my car to a body shop W/o an in-house mechanic
TN/ Progressive
So i damaged my car a few weeks ago. My insurance sent my car to a body shop. Body shop had stated needing to disassemble the car but like also needing to wait for a mechanic to do so because if something was wrong the mechanic would need to fix it. Issue is they don’t have an in house mechanic and parts needed to be ordered. The mechanic didn’t come in after parts arrived until a day or two later. Now as they are fixing it, they need other parts ordered. This is quoted to take a whole extra week after 2 weeks with my car only being actually worked on a few days ago. A friend said I should express more frustration and should get some sort of compensation. I’m not sure what kind to expect or from who. I feel like my insurance should have sent my vehicle to a place that would have properly fixed it at the quoted time which was a reasonable time frame. But now it’s quieted for a week later and interfering with tracking I have. Can I get my insurance to pay for a rental e
Progressive - Policy ceded to reinsurance facility with clean driving record
My auto insurance policy with Progressive was ceded to the North Carolina Reinsurance Facility. I have a clean driving record, no accidents, no tickets, no nothing in the 15 years I've been driving, but they told me that ALL of their policies in North Carolina were ceded after Hurricane Helene -- even though I don't live in Western NC. I've always carried coverage well above the minimum but my coverages are of course going to decrease significantly and my premium has gone up by a lot, as well.
I'd like to switch companies, but I'm wondering if this has happened with policies across the board in NC regardless of company and that now that I've had a policy ceded, anywhere I switch will automatically do that, as well. Can anyone clarify how this works? Any other NC drivers run into this with other companies since Hurricane Helene?
I really hope I'm not out of luck and can no longer get coverage above the minimum anywhere. I'm happy to switch companies if needed, but I also bundle with
Progressive - Auto Insurance CLUE Report Dispute Process Help
Hi,
I’m looking for help on disputing information on my CLUE report.
Back in March 2024, in Arizona, US, I was involved in a accident which was deemed to be the other driver’s fault. The payout went out from their policy. We were both insured with Progressive at the time.
When I first called to report the accident, Progressive opened a claim on my policy, I wasn’t aware it was on my policy at the time, however, I made it clear to them that the other person agreed to having been at fault and gave me their insurance details.
When the adjuster first contacted me, they spotted this mistake and closed the claim on my policy with 0 payout and opened a claim on the other party’s insurance, which ended up in a payout of $1400 to me.
While shopping for insurance last week, I saw that progressive is listing the above accident as a non-chargeable at fault accident with 0 payout.
To get this corrected as a no-fault accident on my LexisNexis CLUE report, I will need to raise a dispute, howe
