State Farm - Is it standard for a wet signature upon policy termination?
I got a much better quote from New York life insurance for a life policy then my current State farm policy. It's my busy season of work and I was hoping to be able to docusign or just cancel over the phone. I was told I need a wet signature which means I'll have to take off a day or half off work.
Part of me wants to just cancel my auto and home policies as well with them over this. Are they just being difficult with me or is this standard with State farm?
State Farm - Homeowners insurance requirement
Has anyone ever heard of a requirement that a wood fence needs to have 5 feet of metal between the house and the fence for homeowner's insurance? State Farm is mandating that we replace 5 feet of our wood fence that is closest to the house with metal for the policy to go through.
State Farm - At fault auto insurance company won't pay whole bill advice needed
Some one hit my vehicle while it was parked in Tennessee. I got a police report showing they were at fault. When they contacted me to get it fixed I did not go with a body shop in their network. They said that was ok.
Now the car is almost fixed and the body shop said the insurance company won't pay the amount the body shop said. It is a difference of $135 from a $1500 bill they already paid.
What should I do? They said because I didn't use their network body shop it was not guaranteed to pay everything. I also have a rental from them. I called twice today to talk to the insurance supervisor and have not got a call back. It is state farm.
Thanks for the advice.

State Farm - Is My Insurance Being Fair To Me?
I live in the Central/Northern Arkansas area with State Farm as my insurance provider and I am 20(M)
I own two vehicles:
2009 Chevy HHR LT Panel(2.2L Ecotec)
1997 GMC Sierra SLE(5.7L Vortec w/ 4L60E)
Both of my vehicles are covered under liability. I was recently rear ended on the interstate in my truck, it honestly held up pretty good, but still a decent bit of damage. An appraiser came out and said it was about $3,700 worth of damages. They then have to run a report on my truck to find the total value. From what I understand, they find a vehicle in my relative area (the two they found are in Kansas and Tennessee) and take the retail, or selling price, and use a formula to calculate the Actual Cash Value(ACV). They then look at the features on those vehicles, compare and contrast them to mine, thus raising or lowering the value of my truck with each feature, to determine how much my truck is worth. Finally got a call back, they say it’s totaled and their number is $2,959, meaning they would be buying it from me and taking it. And there’s potential that I cannot buy it back depending on whether they deem it unsafe to drive. I feel like I’m being cheated. My truck is still running and driving perfectly fine, I can tell there’s a little bit of frame damage at the rear under the bed(the truck hit my receiver and it slightly bent the frame inward). It’s very difficult to find a vehicle that not only is as reliable as my truck is, but also has the capabilities mine does. Not to mention the fact that my Great Grandfather gave me the truck, and he was the original owner. And currently my truck is also my only form of transportation because my dad and I are in the process of rebuilding the motor in my car. If I try to find a truck like mine anywhere, it’s easily double what they’re trying to pay me. Some people want $2,500 for a truck in the condition mine is in with no motor or transmission, or serious problems with one or the other.
Note: Accident was a hit and run, driver at fault was not found. I was rear ended and pushed slightly into another truck.
Also, for reference, I will list the prior and current conditions of my truck:
Prior:
261,000 miles
Dash slightly cracked
Grille slightly cracked(have a new one just haven’t replaced it)
Clear coat peeling and sun damaged in some areas
Very minor dings/scratches
Cloth seats, carpet, and headliner had minor holes, tears, and/or stains
Current:
262,000(what the appraiser recorded)
Dash cracked slightly more
Rear bumper pushed into bed on passenger side
Bed pushing into cab denting both pillars
Bed now unaligned from cab slightly
Driver seat leaning to the right slightly, will not recline forward or back
Tailgate slightly scuffed and dented
Receiver almost broke in half and bent the frame slightly
Front bumper pushed backward, slightly crushing the filler panel in between the bumper and grille
Very slight crease on the back passenger fender
I would be perfectly fine with the $2,900 if I could just keep my truck without having to pay extra. The salvage retention fee is $811 and some change, and my deductible is $250. And still no guarantee I could get it back until I tell them to run the report. They said I could send in other comparable trucks, but it has to be “a link I can click on to see exactly what you’re seeing and include the vin number”. Doing so could potentially raise the value of my truck, but only ever so slightly from what I’ve been told, and if I were to do that, it would have to be before they tell me whether or not I’d be able to keep my truck.
If y’all need more information feel free to ask, I just want some help and guidance.
Another note: at the end of January the dryer in my old apartment caught fire and everything was smoke damaged. My gf and I at the time got a new apartment and then we broke up mid February, and the wreck happened at the beginning of March. I don’t know how I am holding it together.
State Farm - Lapse in payment
When I turned 18 I too out a universal life insurance policy with State Farm. I took a “loan” out on my policy to pay for school loans when I was about 24. Since then I fell behind in paying back the money and the policy itself.
I was unaware and uneducated on the whole process when I borrowed the money.
Does anyone know if the policy is canceled, do I still owe what I borrowed? Or not considering it was money I had already paid towards my own policy.
It’s crazy that we have to pay back what in reality is out money.
State Farm - Can I sue someone after one year of accident?
About an year ago, I was rear ended at a stop sign by a Truck. I did not call the police as I was in a shock and didn't think through it. However, the person agreed it's his fault and shared with me his insurance details and I too the photos. The next day when the rental company looked at the damages they asked for the insurance details and only then I realised the other party's insurance was expired. The rental company used my insurance for the claims. When I called the party that hit me he said he would pay out of his pocket for the expenses but ghosted me since then. I was very new to the US then and hence did not know the legal options I had.
I just saw a post today that someone got sued after an year. Can I still sue them after one year with only images of the incident and the person's expired insurance?

State Farm - State Farm: Ensuring that vehicle modifications would be covered in the event of a total loss?
Greetings, I have State Farm insurance on my truck, which I've been gradually making improvements to for off-road use over the past 2 years I've had it. As of right now, I have about 18k invested into it excluding labor.
I've asked my SF agent aboput gettin an endorsement and they verbally said that my current policy should cover it as long as it's bolted to the vehicle and that I've kept photos and receipts, but I still worry I could end up in a situation where the vehicle is stolen or wrecked in an accident, deemed total and I'm offered far less then it would cost to purchase a similarily equipped truck used on FB marketplace. I'm a bit skeptical of whether or not this is accurate or whether i'd be severely low balled.
I live in a fairly urban area where property theft and unisured reckless drivers have been sharply increasing.
I skimmed over my policy but nothing stood out to me in reguards to modifications, but perhaps I missed something? I'm just trying to make sure that I'm not screwed . One scenario I'm worried about is getting a low ball offer for the vehicle and then hoping there is an avenue to buy it back so that I can transfer the viable parts to another vehicle of the same model, selling whatever is leftover for part and taking a huge loss.
State Farm - State Farm Master Condo Policy
Long story short, we have never had issues with people buying and selling in our 6 unit condo building in Chicago until today. We accepted an offer and the lender reached out stating we needed **replacement cost coverage** in order to move forward, this is due to Fannie and Freddie guidelines as of June 2024. We have never changed our master policy provider and our bylaws specifically state that we must have **replacement cost coverage.** I have looked over our policy and it does not state either Cash value or replacement, just the limit on coverage with a \*attached for the inflation rider. Agent we reached out to has been non-responsive.
Anyone else run into this?
State Farm - Auto Insurance Claim
Just wondering if anyone else has dealt with this. Recently was in an accident which I was not at fault. I have a luxury vehicle that was fully paid for. State Farm totaled my vehicle. My issue is the amount they want to settle my claim for is substantially less than what I think it should be or was expecting. Do I have to accept that? Is my only recourse to file a lawsuit? I live in Wyoming BTW. Thanks for any help or advice!
