State Farm - Bank won’t deposit my insurance check?
I had a home claim, and State Farm issued a check made out to me, my mortgage company, and the down payment assistance program I used.
I had both parties endorse the check (which was already kind of tedious process that took 2 weeks) and now US Bank says they won’t accept the mobile deposit because the payee doesn’t match the name on my account.
I called customer service to explain, and they said US Bank won’t accept deposits unless the account names match. I did call after regular hours so maybe it’s an overnight service that has bad info.
But surely 1) this isn’t a particularly unique situation and someone at US Bank has to know what the protocol 2) the standard here can’t be that I have to open up a bank account with both the down payment assistance program and my mortgage holder, can it?
I feel insane that I can’t find any info about this online, so I’m hoping that means there is a way.
ETA: Ended up having to mail it to a branch! But for future readers, no, you are not expected to set up an account with you and your mortgage lender, thank goodness!
State Farm - Will it be repaired or totaled ?
Waiting days on State Farm to get back to me! I got a shop estimate for around 5,630 for repairs. Wondering if it’s likely to be fixed or totaled ? 2015 Honda accord base model 144k miles. Any way I can get them to hurry up? My 6 year old is on dialysis 3 times a week 2 hours each way 😩

State Farm - Did my insurance agent screw me over?
Hi everyone, I am posting here because I have had a very frustrating experience with my auto insurance with statefarm and am looking for some advice. I am currently a graduate student in Florida so things can be a little difficult when it comes to have to budget with this huge bill I have now.
Basically I have had statefarm since August of 2024 and the first 6 months of premium was fine, I paid all my bills on time and when it came to January 2025 when my new auto premium renewed I had increased slightly my premium but the difference in my monthly payments were around the same due to the discounts I got.
Then somewhere in February I found out I had been dropped from the insurance due to a balance of a surcharge for policy change that I did not pay for. They then dropped me without notifying me so I found this out a little later. Throughout the few months from February from when I found out I was dropped to July (when the 6 months premium ends), I have been trying to reinstate my auto insurance back because I feel a little anxious driving in Florida without having an insurance active. The insurance agent office was super hard to reach, I had to re-explain my situation multiple times because the person most involved with my case was never available to talk, and they always said that they are working on it and that my insurance is still active and will get back to me regarding the balance/bills which they never did. I had to keep following up and finally in June-July ish, they had my policy reinstated. But now I have this giant bill where I have to pay both the remaining balance and the new insurance premium monthly. The insurance agent told me that the remaining balance was about $380 spread over 3 months and I had paid for the first installment already so I should have 2 more months of whatever was remaining of $380.
After that first payment, I decided to switch over to another insurance agent because of their lack of communication and how long they took to process things. I think this was my mistake then because after switching over, the new insurance agent said that my remaining balance was about $500 remaining still even after the first payment that I have made towards the remaining balance. Now because of this issue, I have to be paying $300 per month (remaining balance spread over a few months + current insurance premium for the month) and I feel like my previous insurance agent had screwed me over? Is my only option is to just suck it up and pay the $500 like they said?
I am just very upset because they also never have apologized to me and made me feel like I was at fault as well. I tried to switch over to another insurance company but I have not been getting better rates (car insurance is ridiculously expensive in Florida) and I rarely drive (last 6 months I have only driven 2300 miles) and I have to be paying an enormous amount ($128 per month) for me to be barely driving.
State Farm - State Farm Ignoring calls
Hey, I need some advice and help here, someone with a State Farm insurance hit my vehicle and we’ve been going through the process of the claim. She falsely accused me of hitting her and my insurance investigated and found me to not be liable. State Farm said that they’ll do the investigation and it’s been over two months and I still have not received word from them regarding their investigation outcome or about fixing my car.
I’ve been calling the adjuster to get an update but they have been dodging my calls. The woman hit my car and it needs to be fixed, does anyone know what I can do at this point to get an answer from State Farm or just to get their attention so that my car can get fixed and this case can be closed.
Also, do you think because I was not found liable by my insurance that it will affect my insurance, although I did not hit anyone or haven’t gotten into any accidents I’m curious to know if this claim will affect my auto insurance policy in anyway .
State Farm - How to handle insurance issue r/t auto accident. Brother w/ traumatic brain injury now being denied coverage for his medication/appointments.
Hi all, years ago my brother was hit by an auto while he was on a bicycle. His auto insurance (State Farm) covered the meds r/t accident and any appointments. Every few years they would send him in for a reevaluation IPE so this time the person that did the Psych evaluation said he was over exaggerating his issues and that even though he has a traumatic brain injury he no longer qualifies to have his medication covered. He deals with/ depression, headaches, insomnia, the only med that is being covered is for his antidepressant. Im not sure how to advise him. Do we go back to the original attorney? Do we fight it? If so, how does that normally play out? My brother's accident happened over 15 years ago. He was not at fault. Even though all of his testing showed significant damage and he has never returned to his baseline, has poor memory, can't think when there are loud noises, and is now doing "manual" work vs. owning a business that he had to give up. Any help would be wond
State Farm - Looking for new carrier
I have State Farm and pay about $750 monthly for my several cars and teenager.
Every carrier I quoted with (the major ones that everyone knows)
All wanted $1,100 or more per month for exact same coverage.
These people are crazy!!!
The $750 I think is already too high. 3 cars, 1 truck, 2 adults and a teen. No accidents, tickets, or claims for anyone, ever.
Going to try a local broker tomorrow. Maybe they can help. Are other people seeing the same crazy differences when getting a quote? Any good experiences using a broker and anything I should watch out for? Never used an independent broker.
State Farm - Cash it?
I have a renters insurance claim due to a total loss from roof collapse and flooding during a storm. I sent in the inventory list (replacement cost policy) and there is about 10K in depreciation. My problem is I had $4k + (remaining after 2 weeks in a hotel and food) with loss of use but my adjuster gave me two weeks to move into a shoebox compared to a huge townhouse I had.
I can’t even buy the vast amount of things I lost due to the sheer size of where I live with no storage (I have one closet compared to a whole finished basement and utility room). The list they sent with the check for actual cost is in my hands. The list is printed and huge (mine was a spreadsheet).
I’m not happy. Quite frankly if I was given more time to use my loss of use (we did 2 weeks in a hotel for a permanent move) then I may have a larger place.
I want my money back (replacement cost) and almost wish I negotiated a settlement. I’m not sure if that’s still possible but what’s the best route here since
State Farm - Who to File Claim With?
I was in an accident that wasn't my fault (other party received a summons), I called my insurer (state farm) to report it and begin the repair process. I was told by SF rep that I shouldn't have called them. I should have gone directly to the other party's insurance so I wouldn't have a claim on my record. I'd always thought my insurance company just worked it out with the other company. Am I wrong?
State Farm - Best discounts for medical professions?
Hey guys, State Farm is trying to increase my rates by another $300 per 6 months. Told them I’ll be taking my 19 years of customer service with me. Which insurance has discounts for being a nurse?
State Farm - Question about Renter's Insurance
I’m moving to a new state and currently have renters’ insurance with State Farm. I filed a claim for a theft in my building a couple of months ago, where a large amount of my personal items were stolen from what was supposed to be a secure mailroom.
Last Friday, I contacted a State Farm agent in my new state to set up a policy for my next apartment. After taking the weekend to get back to me, she said she had spoken with the underwriting department and they couldn’t write me a policy because of that claim. She specifically said I couldn’t have an active claim in the last **24–36 months**.
That doesn’t make sense to me. Why would the rule be a range instead of a clear cutoff? Is this standard insurance practice, and I’m just unfamiliar with it, or did she give me incorrect info? The vague timeline feels odd, and I’m wondering if she was just making it up or if she has the information wrong. I ended up going with a different insurance company anyway, but just wondering if she was BSing
