Pets Best - Denied claim due to "pre-existing condition" even though diagnosis changed.
About two months ago, I took in a stray cat. On his second vet visit, I brought him in because I suspected conjunctivitis-his eye looked irritated. The vet also mentioned the possibility of entropion but said I’d need an eye specialist to know for sure.
I followed up with a veterinary ophthalmologist, and they diagnosed him with eyelid agenesis, not entropion. It required a $4,000 surgery, which I went through with to give him a better quality of life.
Unfortunately, Pets Best denied my claim saying The eye issue was mentioned at an earlier appointment, so they’re calling it a pre-existing condition, even though the actual diagnosis changed significantly.
Has anyone had any success appealing a claim like this? Is there a way to argue that it’s a completely different condition? Or does the fact that “something was wrong with his eye” early on automatically void any coverage?
Geico - Staying Insured in NJ
Sold my other car and bought one at the same time, then returned the second car and got a full refund. All of this happened within 7 days of each other. Geico said I can't take off the car I returned, despite it not being in my name, without fully losing coverage which will then cause a lapse in my continuous insurance coverage. They basically said I either keep the car on until I find another one, or fully cancel my policy which puts me in a not-so-great spot.
Geico offers non-owner auto insurance, and they couldn't give me a reason they couldnt insure me without a car, only the above "solution".... so if I cancel my policy and try to get a new one, Ill have to pay a down payment again and be subjetc to higher rates because I had a "lapse in coverage".
What would you do?
Farmers Insurance - Homeowners liability coverage
I am trying to understand my Farmers insurance homeowners liability coverage and farmers isn’t being helpful at all. Basically what happened is while my wife and I were out of the country, my child accidentally kicked my sprinkler line near the drip system and broke it. Long story short, it flooded a room in my neighbors home over about a 7 day period. They just kept mopping it up and hoping it would stop. I’m not sure why they let it go on for that long but they did. Anyway it ruined some of the floor and caused some moisture to settle into the drywall. It was about a 15 ft x 15 ft area of water damage. Will my homeowners liability insurance cover the water damage in this situation?
Geico - Home insurance went through the roof
I was paying my mortgage online, noticed that mortgage paid my hazard insurance at $4860, when I was paying like $2800 prior year, called agent and asked Wtf, 10 days later he got it to 3800/yr, cars at Geico because best rate, Went to GEICO for homeowners and bundled with my car insurance now $2,680. Also GEICO takes 10minutes to get a quote.

MetLife - Good pet insurance companies?
Currently have metlife and i’m not happy. I pay $100/month for 3 of my cats. Theyve been putting me through hell & back for MONTHS over a claim I submitted for a $12 medication that will only go towards my $500 deductible anyway, every few weeks they ask me for more paperwork and information, now they want a handwritten letter from my vet explaining WHY my cat needs this medication. It’s always something new and im over it atp and realize if something ever major happens to my cat are they even gonna cover it? cause it soundd like not and i’m wasting my money.
Progressive - 21 yr old, single policy, insuring a brand new Cadillac paying $99 a month w/ progressive
I feel like this rate is insane for me being by myself 21 year old male in a brand new $50k plus Cadillac, I do need the snapshot through progressive (absolutely hate that) but I have been told my policy is half what it should be anywhere else. Clean record but why is my policy so low? I have average deductibles and had a third party review my account and said the coverage is right where it should be.
Sedgwick - Sedgwick sent me a letter denying MY claim, even though I never made a claim.
I’m a mechanic and I was test driving a customers vehicle which belonged to a Tree Service company. I pulled out in front of a DHL van and she t boned me. Police were called and a report was filed. Now, I received a letter from Sedgwick saying they reviewed MY claim on the DHL account and denied it. I never filed a claim nor did I give the police my insurance, they wanted the tree service insurance, but I did give them my license. I don’t know if the tree service filed a claim, but why would they send me a letter? Should I respond to this? Is this a scam?
Blue Cross Blue Shield - Help! What are my options?
Hi all, thanks in advance for reading this. My situation is this: I’ve started a new job that had 3 options for health insurance. All were blue cross blue shield. 1 option was no hsa but in and out of network coverage. 2 options had hsa’s but one had in and out of network coverage and the other didn’t. I figured I’d get the was with a hsa and no out of network coverage. BCBS is very common where I live and figured no issues.
Well, my son had to have surgery but before hand, we gave our new insurance to all the doctors and they said they accepted it with no problems. After the surgery, we received a $16,000 bill with a statement saying all procedures are not covered because we didn’t use in network doctors. So I make some calls and come to find out the nearest doctor or hospital that is in network is 2 hours away! Nothing around me is in network!? BCBS told me I should have chosen the insurance plan with hsa and out of network coverage.
I have a 18 month old and a wife. I can’t wait till open enrollment to change health plans… what do I do?
USAA - When should I cancel my auto insurance?
I’ve been with USAA all my driving life and I’ve grown fed up with the high prices. So I’m switching to Erie and it goes active on the 28th. My USAA bill is due the 31st so when would be the best day to cancel? I’m not sure if I should call tomorrow or call them on the 27th. This is the first time I’ve ever switched insurances like this.
