insurance company - Insurance estimate is different from the contractor estimate
A couple of weeks ago a gentleman ran the stop sign in front of my house and used my new mudroom as a stopping mechanism. We were told to get an estimate from a contractor and they would cut us a check. We got a detailed estimate and the insurance company sent it out for review. The review came back with a 6000.00$ reduction in the estimate due to not enough detail on the labor side of the estimate. The insurance agent said that we could accept the money while we submitted an updated more detailed estimate to get the extra 6000.00$. Should we take the money while we wait for the contractor to update the estimate or should we get the updated estimate first?
Trupanion - Trupanion, fetch, or nationwide?
I adopted a cat just under a year ago now. She is a domestic shorthair and will be two years old this April.
While she hasn’t had any major issues yet, I grew up with family pets and know it’s only a matter of time before I end up with a $1000+ vet bill.
I’ve been looking at pet insurance companies and reviews and none of them seem good? Either everyone seems to have major complaints about every single one or their coverage is really weird.
I’m still going to get one, especially since I believe my cat is starting to develop gingivitis and as far as I’m aware, it hasn’t been noted by the vet, so I’m hoping it won’t be counted as a pre-existing condition.
I was originally interested in SPOT but then saw that a bunch of people said they were a scam, so I started looking into others.
The top three I’ve been debating between: Fetch, trupanion, and nationwide.
I really like the price and coverage of Fetch, but I’ve seen a mix of both bad and good reviews on them. If anyone has any good/bad experiences I’d appreciate it, especially with cost/coverage changing as your pet gets older.
Then there’s trupanion, which I love that they claim to not increase the price as your pet gets older, but I’m unsure about their deductible since it’s per condition instead of annually. It seems great for pets that develop chronic conditions, but maybe not great for illnesses and accidents that I’m assuming would each fall under their own “condition” and thus leave you stuck paying the deductible every single time. If anyone can shed some light on this I’d appreciate it.
Last, nationwide was recommended to me by my sisters friends. For around the same price as trupanion, their coverage includes additional things like dental cleaning, wellness, exam fees, etc. I’m just worried about the price hike that might occur as my cat gets older.
Please give any recommendations and/or experiences, either with these three or with other insurances you’ve used ♥️
Turo - Got into a car accident while renting from Turo.
Hello everybody! Thank you so much for all the important information in advance.
My personal car was at the shop and I needed to rent a car. I did — from Turo. I purchased a minimum coverage from Turo (my deductible was $3000).
Was in traffic going around 15-20mph and the car in front of me slammed their brakes. In order for me to prevent the collision, I swirled to change the lane to the right, hitting their back right corner, and wiped my car through the curbside. They had a scratch and one side of rear bumper got unhooked. The car I was driving had the headlight destroyed, front bumper fully came off, and the driver‘s door stuck.
The other party filed a claim with my car insurance. My car insurance does not cover rental.
I’m so genuinely confused because my insurance is telling me to figure it all out as they have a balance of $4000 that I am required to pay.
And I’m wondering if the other party was supposed to file the claim with Turo? Is my car insurance supposed to be invo
T-Mobile - How do I pay my T-Mobile outstanding bills.
1. In October 2024,I bought a I Phone 16 max pro from T Mobile store for some other person as he didn’t have address documents and mail ID. I gave my documents for mailing address, mail ID and alternate contact number at T-Mobile store.
2. T- Mobile sold the I phone with a sim and monthly plan of $95. The other person didn’t pay $95 for the recharge after October. He kept using the phone on his home WiFi as the sim was active but with no service.
3. In March 2025 a 3rd party, not T- Mobile sends me an outstanding bill of $588.33 on the T-Mobile plan I took in October.
4. Now my issue is why didn’t T-Mobile inform me through my address Mail or my mail ID or through the alternate contact number that my plan was not being recharged and I am collecting an outstanding.
Why a third party is sending a mail on my address to collect outstanding dues on T-Mobile plan. In between I was getting call from the 3rd party that I have an outstanding, I went to the T-Mobile store and asked should I entertain such calls they said it is spam, do not entertain these calls.
5. How should I go about clearing this Issue can anybody advise me on the steps to be taken. It’s concerning as $588.33 is not a small amount.Thank you all.
Fetch - I’m afraid I’m going to get dropped.
My 14 month old cat has been to the emergency vet twice since we adopted her a year ago. 8 weeks ago she went in for swallowing a button. She had been vomiting all day. Luckily it came out naturally after she spent the day hospitalized with an iv to hydrate her. Last week she started vomiting again. I’ve been traumatized but the fact that she swallowed a button, my best friend’s cat had to have surgery to removed a nerf ball, and my other best friend’s cat had to actually be put down for eating the rubber off of swimming goggles, he had other issues and they didn’t think he would survive the surgery. All this happened since my cat first went in 8 weeks ago. So I probably should have given my cat a few more hours to see if she would stop vomiting. Turns out she had suspected gastritis. Now I’m afraid that we will get dropped from Fetch insurance if I submit the last claim. Should I submit the claim? Will I get into trouble if I don’t submit it?

AAA - Car Accident Question currently scared
This is a wild one and I'm just looking for some kind of guidance or advice.
Try and make the story short, my wife got into a car accident this morning, the car was in her mothers name who passed away and there was a lien on it so we weren't able to get it in our name
but the car was on the insurance.
This morning, on her way to work, she turned at light and was hit by a 1990s Jeep. After giving insurance information, we went home and contacted our insurance company.
Found out we didn't have insurance, when we did, or we thought we did, back in February 2025, I registered a new car with AAA and got insurance. The lady specifically told me I had insurance and said we were good until August, but all she did was sign us up for road side service. I have a receipt of when I went in as well. My car I added was also on the account, but everything else was missing.
I filed a claim and they're going to do an investigation.
I'm just feeling like I'm in a black hole right now and am super confused and worried. I really can't afford to be put in this situation currently and thought I was covered by insurance this entire time.
Progressive - How messed up am I?
Wife and I started a new policy being as ours ended with our previous company and we were under the impression. Everything was good. We were waiting for them to pull the payment we had our ID insurance card sent to us. We were even using their snapshot app during that time, my wife back into the neighbors vehicle, which was parked illegally And the door luckily my neighbor super cool about it but a few days after that happened progressive recanted the policy and I am worried I’m gonna have to pay out cash is what it is. I just wanna know what my options are and if progressive can be held to pay for the damages, even if they recounted their policy, after the fact
Amex - Filing a claim for a damage with Amex for a rental car collision
Hi all,
So this is a grey area and I really do not know how to go about this so I would appreciate any input here. I'd rented a car for the weekend to drive around town and visit nearby places. Had some time left before returning so I had a colleague over, and we decided to go out but he wanted to take the wheel. So, we drove to a nearby restaurant and while parking into the restaurant he backed too heavily and banged into the wall. There is a sizeable damage to the car's rear with scratches all around, damage to the rear lights and the bumper too.
I know I am screwed as it is the worst car rental company (Sixt), but also, I was not driving. I know my card, Amex has an insurance that covers this sort of stuff, but of course it requires me to be the authorized driver to be able to claim this.
I do not know what to do here, because I do care about the colleague and don't want him to get screwed because of the charges too because I know it is gonna be hefty one (probably a couple thousand bucks to say the least), so any advice would be appreciated here. Do I trust the claim verification process to not involve checking through on the cameras, or, just be honest, I don't know. Help!
UPMC - UPMC stopped covering Vascepa
I have UPMC Advantage health Insurance and was taking Vascepa (icosapent ethy) and then the script went to $450 for a 3 month supply. In January i used a coupon from the Vascepa website and was able to get the medicine for $9!! ($3 per month) I just went back to the pharmacy yesterday (Giant Eagle) and they said that because UPMC no longer covers "Vascepa" I'd have to get the generic icosapent ethy, for which there is no coupon and it would cost $150 ($50 per month). Does anyone know how to get icosapent ethy for less? Also, why isnt there more outrage at the fact that our health insurers are constantly TAKING away from our plans and making it more expensive to get medicines we need?
