Healthy Paws Pet Insurance - Healthy paws pet insurance
Is it even legal for Healthy Paws pet insurance to increase premiums at almost 200% in CA? This is outrageously high!! Anyone experiencing the same?

Kaiser - Kaiser keeps terminating my insurance
Using a throw away account...
I have Kaiser through work. Since I've been on my current plan for the past 3 months, Kaiser has terminated my insurance on the last day of the month. According to the payroll company (ADP), my benefits are valid and from what I can tell, dental and vision (not through Kaiser) are also valid. I don't understand why this keeps happening.
The only thing I can think of is that it's a Northern California plan and I live in SoCal. I lived in SoCal when I selected my plan and was told it shouldn't be an issue, but now I'm questioning that. Last time it happened HR confirmed that it shouldn't again, but here we are.
This is a tremendous hassle every time it happens since both my husband and myself need to have our SoCal and NorCal medical record numbers linked and then it takes several days before we can access anything on the website in our region.
Does anyone have insight into how or why this keeps happening? I'm at my wits end.
old insurance - Insurance and collection agencies and credit score?
Hi, yes a throwaway account cuz im a bit nervous
So starting a few weeks after changing insurance providers, the pharmacy accidentally (?) put some meds on the wrong insurance(multiple times tbh, and the last one was over 6 weeks after the insurance had been stopped?!) .
i get a notice maybe a month later saying i owe them quite a large sum of money. I go back and forth for about half a year before i was able to get a check from my new insurance to cover it.
It isnt even the whole amount, but it helps. Now im so frustrated w the old insurance for putting us thru so much hassle. I tried to do a payout w them for like half the amount for all the trouble and after their review, they denied that request.
But what if i were to let it go to collections and then do a lump sum payout with them?
Any ideas how badly that would affect my credit? Im floating typically around 800 so i have decent credit. Or does medica debt even count towards credit score? I feel like i cant find a solid answer to that…im in the midwest usa for reference. Or even, what am i mot considering by doing this? I could def use the extra money, this whole situation was not my intention. It was rly super stressful tbh.
Thoughts? Thanks everyone in advance! Any suggestions advice etc welcome.
Spot - Spot and Curable Pre-Existing Conditions?
Hiya, I adopted a kitty from my local shelter a few days ago knowing he has gingivitis and needs a dental cleaning and possible extractions which I will cover out of pocket. The more I dig into the plan the shelter pushed through Fetch, the more I’m realizing Fetch feels like an elaborate scam.
I’m looking at switching to Spot as it’s one of the companies that claims they will cover curable pre-existing conditions if there’s been no occurrence/need for treatment for 180 days.
Has anyone gone through this with Spot and can you confirm that they did start covering a condition after that 180 day period, or did they find a way out of it? Any other companies you would recommend that are good for this?
He’s only a year old, the vet is hopeful we can get it fully treated and cured but of course there’s no way of knowing for sure.
Allstate - Allstate Quote: Questions
I ran the same quote three times and I keep getting different numbers.
One quote said $300, the other said $330 and then I get an email saying it’s $196.
What’s going on here?
Edward Jones - Comparing Rate of Return in Retirement Account
My Simple IRA is with Edward Jones through my employer. My advisor, a glorified used car salesman, claims that it’s not fair to compare my returns with him to either the SPTMI or my own Roth IRA. His reasoning is that because it sees contributions twice a month, there’s always recent contributions that have not grown which makes the return seem lower. The account is only two years old and has about 10k in it. It shows about 12% growth for 2024 while the SPTMI and my ROTH IRA (30k, maxed early in the year, 80/20 VTSAX/ VTIAX) showed about 24%. Does his explanation hold any weight? My returns over the last rolling year are negative by <1% while my ROTH is up over 13% still just because of how strong last year was.
Appreciate anyone’s input!
Fetch - Fetch insurance deleted my pet’s medical records!!
I just thought about checking on my fetch insurance, went on to the medical record page, and found out that ALL my pet’s medical records were deleted!!! It says no medical records at all, but I’ve been updating my pet’s medical record since I adopted him in 2023.
There are 4 records that I updated, including annual wellness check and initial baseline.
I have the confirmation of medical records emails from fetch last year.
I called them and reuploaded all the files. The customer service was nice but she said that she has no idea why this happened, and no further clarification on how to prevent this in the future.
This feels so shady. Everyone with Fetch, please have the habit to check on your records regularly, because I’ve had experiences of them refusing my claim because I didn’t post annuals check up record every year.
I can’t even imagine what could’ve happened if I didn’t think about checking the insurance today… still in shock
Embrace Pet Insurance - Embrace pet insurance
Going through Reddit before I got my Italian greyhound puppy, I came to the conclusion that dog insurance was a NECESSITY with this breed. I did a lot of comparing companies as well as reading reviews of each company with different scenarios and decided on embrace.
I currently pay ~$70/month and it’s been so worth it for me!
Deductible of $250/year with 90% reimbursement afterwards.
Well my Finn boy fractured his leg and we were devastated and overwhelmed by the guilt/fear/etc. We went straight to the ER and found out he needed surgery to have it repaired. (~$6,000). By reading the contracts and stipulations of the insurance agreement I knew it would be covered and there was no way we could have afforded it without insurance.
It did take a lot of hassle on my end. I had to call them several times to get my claim moving. I had to submit all of his documents (several different times). After calling a 4th time and them claiming they did not get the documents I ended up emailing the records to them as well. My claims were then put on “hold” due to insufficient documentation. I was at my wits end trying to come up with anything else they could possibly need. I called again explaining absolutely everything and the worker put notes into the file and sent it back to the adjusters. FINALLY a couple of days later (1 month total of waiting) I finally got reimbursed 🥳.
It was such a shit show but I was so relieved that it covered basically everything. My only complaint is that if you don’t pester them they don’t get anything done. The workers told me that the first claim always takes the longest to process and the next ones should only take a week or less. I hope that’s the case- hahah!
Geico - Geico insurance auto damage claim
I recently settle down with Geico for an auto damage cost and they sent me a link where I can put my banking information for direct deposit, despite verifying with the bank about the entered information being corrected the website still shows "please verify the information for accuracy" I even used a family members card which didn't work, so then they automatically issued a check which never came despite being more than 10 days, I called them again and they said there's nothing they can do but issue a new check or redo the direct deposit which I did and still failed to verify the banking information, I suspect this is a system error, I'm currently waiting for the second check but I'm very anxious whether the check is gonna come or not? What should I do in this situation. Geico isn't able to track where my check goes
Fred Loya Insurance - Fred loya insurance has been ignoring me for 3 weeks
My car was totaled at the beginning of July, it was the other drivers fault and she has Fred loya. I have been completely out of a car for 3 weeks and I can’t get through to anyone. I don’t know what to do.
The car isn’t worth a lot, it’s a 2005 Subaru Outback, but in my area (Colorado ) I should get at least $4,000 for it, they offered me $2,200 and after I sent a bunch of comparables over they’ve been ignoring me.
I have 2 jobs and I go back to school next month, I need a car.
Any advice on how to get them to pay attention to me? I’m pretty poor so getting a lawyer feels out of the question, but I’m also getting desperate.
Thank you in advance
