Lemonade - Lemonade Home Insurance is dropping me in a month. Should I still try to file a hail damage claim for my roof?
So Lemonade had me take some house photographs and asked some questions as we’re approaching the first renewal of our home insurance. Separately, we had some hail storms and our roof got beat up. I had a roofer take a look and he said the roof is a bit old (the pictures he took supported that) and it has impact damage. Well as I’m researching my options, Lemonade says they are dropping us because we have a tree that is close to the house, it’s a small one, and our sewer line is cast iron under the house. Since the hail damage occurred under the Lemonade insurance, is it worth trying to file a claim before they drop me? Will it make it harder for me to find insurance? I imagine a damaged roof is harder to insure than a new one but I’m not sure
parents' insurance company - Drivers license being suspended due to not being covered by my parents insurance.
What Should I Do?
A few weeks ago, I was in a car accident while driving my parents' car that I wasn’t in fault. When I called my parents insurance company they told me i wasn’t covered by their insurance policy and didn't say anything and said to call the other party to solve this they didn't informed me on any of the steps so I assumed that I have to only call the other persons insurance. I wasn’t covered under my parents insurance, as they excluded me from due to not having 3 years o experience and I had no idea how much this would impact me. This was totally my fault for not being informed. My parents don’t speak good English and the language barrier wasn’t clear whether they added me or removed me from their policy. I'm a full time student taking 30 units this spring and currently I live with my boyfriend near my campus and visit my parents about once a month. That day, I just wanted to go to the gym and didn't think much about it so I drove myself since my parents were busy. I never thought that one small decision could turn into something so overwhelming. I’ve only been driving for a year, and this is the first time anything like this has ever happened to me. I didn’t even know that I was supposed to notify the DMV if the accident caused more than $1,000 in damage. I’ve tried everything I called my parents’ insurance company, I called the DMV to request a hearing but they told me there’s nothing I can do because I wasn’t covered. Now, I’m facing the possibility of having my license suspended, and I feel completely lost.
Is there *any* way to stop this from happening? I don’t want one mistake to take away my ability to drive. If anyone has advice or knows what I can do, I’d truly appreciate it.
UnitedHealthcare - Question about needing a referral for healthcare to see a specialist
I have pathology reports from Hospital A that I received under a charity care arrangement. They are for dermatology. The reports revealed skin cancer and I needed surgery, but the hospital fused to allow me to use their charity care for the surgery
I might be taking a low wage job to try and get private employer group PPO health benefits. But the plan would be with UHC. If I already have the biopsy reports showing biopsy #1, biopsy #2, biopsy #3, biopsy #4 are basal cells and they require Mohs surgery, do I still have to wait months to set up an appointment with a dermatologist and then WAIT for a referral to see a Mohs specialist?
Forget about the prior dermatologist who did the biopsies. He works for a large healthcare system that won't allow him to refer me outside of their network.
If I literally have the pathology biopsies, can't a potential UHC in-network Mohs surgeon's office use that? Or does UHC ppo private group plan insurance and the participating Mohs doctor under UHC insurance require another dermatology referral, which would mean I'd have to wait many months just for that and delay the surgery I desperately need.
Progressive - Guidance for total loss claim.
I was in a accident. Mine was certified 23 Crv hybrid sport with only 16k miles in chicago il. I tried passing a car and lost traction. Anyways now insurance is offering only 32k and they say I can only show compa within 75miles. they used Mitchell and jd power. they have listed 10 cars in 75 miles but 4 of them were sold listings. What do I do now to get the best amount possible. I can see listings but they are with more miles same like 30k miles and are at 32500 but can't find listings for 16k miles. This is with progressive. How do I negotiate with the adjustor or is it best to get a lawyer or private appraiser? Also is there a thing I shouldn't submit comps more than 75 miles away?
Blue Cross Blue Shield - Coordination of benefits when one plan is inactive?
My son has two insurance policies, one with me and one with his Dad. Both plans are with BCBS.
Dental office called to tell me they can't run the claim because BCBS website is showing that he is inactive on Dads plan. Dad says plan should be fine. So no idea why the Dr office is seeing that.
I asked if they could just run it under mine and they sad it won't work because Dads plan is inactive and the my plan won't pay until it's resolved.
This doesn't make sense to me. Why would it not process with my plan just because Dad's plan is inactive? Wouldn't this be the same as my son only having one insurance plan now and run it without the secondary attached?
Can someone break this down for me?
Primerica - So, how do we feel about Primerica these days?
I’m looking for employment in the financial sector and I got on a zoom call with a financial services company, companies name is Axium. They’re an independent broker using Primerica as their custodian.
He kind of explained they’re like a marketplace for financial products now . 401(k)s, annuities, mutual funds, even rocket mortgage. As well as life insurance.
But I have concerns because I’m a child of the 90s and I remember Primerica having a bad rap.
Seems like they don’t have the same practices they used to. But I’m wondering if it’s worth it to take this employment, and if I’m just making something out of nothing.
Does anyone have firsthand experience with Primerica as a client or employee?
HO6 - What happens if I get sued over a HO6 insurance claim that is closed?
I live in a condo in Los Angeles. My unit had a leak that caused some damage in a neighbor's unit, but when I filed the claim with my HO6 insurance, they found me "not negligent" and so "not liable." It took a while, but I eventually got paid to fix the issue on my end—but my neighbor was left to fix their damages through their insurance. Of course, they're now threatening to sue.
I understand that my insurance will defend me should there be a suit (they confirmed that I have coverage, but they won't pay because I'm not liable). My concern is that they sent me a non-renewal notice over this claim. My policy will expire in two months. This means the claim needs to be closed so I can shop and secure a new provider... So, what happens if the lawsuit comes after the claim closes and I'm insured somewhere else? Who takes care of the lawsuit then? Am I being screwed over somehow by my current insurer right now? I mean, the non-renewal surely felt so, but if I'm going to be left to handle a potential lawsuit by myself, I don't know what I'll do. :-( Thoughts?
Blue Cross Blue Shield - Pre Authorization denied because dr's office won't submit medical history
Hi all,
I recently moved, got a new gastroenterologist, and switched to Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance. I specifically went to the new doctor to get a prescription for Viberzi for my IBS. I've been on this medication for four years and knew the new insurance would require prior authorization.
Long story short, my prior authorization was denied because the insurance company said my medical history wasn’t documented. I was confused since I had already submitted my past medical records to the new doctor. When I called the office to check, they told me they *can’t* include previous medical records because they were from before I became a patient there.
They said they are going to submit it again and it will go to a peer-to-peer next. And I asked if the doctor will submit my medical history then. And they told me "He doesn't need to send your medical history. He's a physician."
I’m really frustrated and not sure what to do next besides hoping the peer-to-peer thing works. Has anyone dealt with something similar? Can a doctor really not use past medical records for prior authorization? Any advice?
Allstate - other driver's insurance repairing (not replacing) my car: what are your thoughts?
hello. i posted about this before, but three weeks ago, a drunk driver hit me and totaled my 2016 subaru. we just got our bill (to be paid by his insurance, all state): around $9,500, and an additional $1,000 to $2,000 with a rental. i need to go over my belongings for damage, but i had a $600 dog kennel (gunner) too: waiting on an email to see whether or not this needs to be replaced like children's car seats.
his insurance wants to fix it, not replace it, although we only bought my subaru at around $10,000 (we spent a few thousand on repairs, but not anything big: my parents wanted new brakes for peace of mind). how badly will a rebuild that large damage our ability to sell? should we fight it: and how do we? we live in colorado.
Progressive - INSURANCE BILL HELP
Long story short. February 12th, Progressive sent me an email saying if I don’t pay the minimum that on the 28th they would cancel my insurance BUT on February 14, they sent an email saying that they had already canceled my policy on the 3rd…
They still want me to pay a full month’s bill for insurance I had for only 2 days. HECK NO.
I had been fighting a case to get money back for a certain reason & they assured me that everything would work out.
Apparently whoever was looking into my case, denied it (okay fine… sure) & then for some bizarre reason took it upon themselves to believe that because it was denied I wouldn’t want insurance anymore? So they canceled it themselves.
Yes, I was on the phone with them about 3hrs. They all said there’s nothing that can be done but that an agent shouldn’t have the power to cancel one’s policy.
If I don’t pay, it goes to collections.
So why did he?
How do I fight this? Please help.
Thank you in advance <3
