Have an issue with your insurance?
Let everyone know!
Insurance companies are constantly reviewing us. Are we too old? Do we live in the wrong place? Is our credit score high enough? Well, now it's time to turn the tables. Do you charge too much? Will you pay my claim quickly? Is your coverage worse than it seems? We can review you too.
Trupanion - DELAY and DENY
DELAY, DENY! They have denied every claim. They just denied my 7 year old dog treatment for eating rat bait because "she had a history of eating things she was not supposed to." We never put in a claim for her eating anything before but did tell the vet when she ate a rock as a puppy (as many do) and, we called when she ate a piece of chocolate once, as any dog would do. Bait is scented to attract animals - that's why it's called BAIT. I've given Trupanion 9K over 7 years (they do raise the price our premium went from $44 to $110 a month) and they refuse to cover ANYTHING so far. They took 2 weeks searching her medical records and their contract to find ways to deny claims the claim. Sounds like United Health Care's "Delay and Deny" motto.. despicable. Don't waste your money on this company, just put the money into an account every month instead or you'll never see it again. I have canceled but am left feeling scammed. I do not recommend to any dog owners out there.
Fetch Canada - Go with a different insurer other than Fetch
Choose a different pet insurance provider, Fetch will quickly find every way to deny a claim as a pre existing condition and not pay your claim. After many years as a customer with Pet Secure we transferred over to Fetch for our 5 year old dog because they advertise that they cover comprehensive dental and we knew he would eventually need his first dental cleaning. Our dog had a a routine dental cleaning months after we signed up with Fetch, our dog had to have some teeth extracted based on X-rays taken during the procedure, they denied the claim with 24 hours because they said that we hadn’t provided medical records for the 6 months prior to being a customer. We then uploaded an additional record for the standard vet appointment our dog had prior to the dental appointment, they then said the reassessment of the claim could take up to 30 days (even though the initial claim took 24 hours) during which they continued to take their $100 premium. They came back with a secondary denial of the claim stating that the teeth that were extracted were due to periodontal disease as a pre existing condition because the vet noted one broken tooth in his initial standard appointment, there was no way of noting which teeth (if any at all needed to be removed) until X-rays were taken during the actual procedure, we assumed we were just having a standard dental cleaning for our dog. We have since followed up with Fetch to discuss the second claim denial and no one has responded. We have since terminated our policy, it’s been a disappointing experience from start to end.
Nationwide - Poor policy
Telling your customers that their dog would not be covered for any pre-existing conditions is a horrible business model and makes no sense. Why would someone get pet insurance if the insurance is not gonna cover what they need the insurance for?
Embrace - I do not recommend this pet insurance
I do not recommend this pet insurance. I’ve had a claim pending for 2 months and all my vets have submitted the information they have requested and they still won’t release the claim. I even called today to speak to a supervisor and they refused to let me speak to one stating that i need to speak to the adjusted that still hasn’t returned any of my calls. This is absolutely ridiculous and terrible customer. I do not recommend

I couldn’t tell if I made a purchase or not. And. No info on how to use the insurance I bought
Pets Best - Tricksters
So apparently, for Pets Best to reimburse cleanings and extractions, my elderly dog has to be put under anesthesia every 13 months for a dental exam. How is that not risky? Not to mention, it’s outrageously expensive and the reimbursement barely covers anything — if at all. What a scam! Shame on you! And Pets Worst would be a more appropriate name for you.
Trupanion - Too much exasperation with what you do…
Too much exasperation with what you do not cover
Nationwide - Policy change after 5 years
Changing policies based on usage should be illegal. Insurance is risk pool not benefit usage under C&P insurance rules. 5 years had a grandfather in plan and now discontinued with outrouges 400% increase in premium. Claim more coverage but 90% of claims fall under a 5k illness plan. Lost all trust will never use ANY nationwide products/polices again ans be sure to spread the word.all previous 5 star reviews are likely before this 2025 change
Pets Best - Unaffordable Premiums - Good Plan Coverage
Pets Best Insurance is a decent enough company and they have covered several claims on my dogs. Recently my 4 year old Rottweiler's premium increased from $95 per month to $151.00!!! I expect and understand small increases yearly but this is a horrific & shocking increase. How is this going to be affordable? I will be shopping elsewhere for coverage for any future dogs and will be warning all of my friends/family as well as my dog sports network to beware. :(
