Pets Best - Unaffordable Premiums - Good Plan Coverage
Pets Best Insurance is a decent enough company and they have covered several claims on my dogs. Recently my 4 year old Rottweiler's premium increased from $95 per month to $151.00!!! I expect and understand small increases yearly but this is a horrific & shocking increase. How is this going to be affordable? I will be shopping elsewhere for coverage for any future dogs and will be warning all of my friends/family as well as my dog sports network to beware. :(
MetLife - Pretty good but they take forever to…
Pretty good but they take forever to pay.
Nationwide - Policy change after 5 years
Changing policies based on usage should be illegal. Insurance is risk pool not benefit usage under C&P insurance rules. 5 years had a grandfather in plan and now discontinued with outrouges 400% increase in premium. Claim more coverage but 90% of claims fall under a 5k illness plan. Lost all trust will never use ANY nationwide products/polices again ans be sure to spread the word.all previous 5 star reviews are likely before this 2025 change

Embrace - Pros & Cons
Pros:
• We’ve been with Embrace for 10 years, and overall they’ve been very reliable.
• When claims were mistakenly flagged as “pre-existing,” my vet provided documentation and Embrace corrected it and paid.
• Customer service has been fair and responsive.
Cons:
• Premiums rise every year, no matter the policy type.
• Currently paying over $500/month for two dogs (one older, one young and healthy).
• The USAA member discount is minimal and hardly noticeable.
Overall: Embrace has been trustworthy when it comes to paying claims, but the steep and ever-rising premiums make it hard to justify the cost — especially when one pet has had no health issues at all
Pets Best - Not happy with wellness plan
The wellness plan I added to my dog’s accident and illness coverage is not covering his flea, tick and worm medication throughout the whole year, I got a message informing that the annual limit has been reached. I will switch to the Banfield Hospital Optimum Wellness plan since it offers unlimited coverage for wellness-related expenses.
ASPCA - Medications, yes or no??
I have had a problem with my claim when I turned it in I gave them all my receipts but they only accepted one day and I went to the vet for months come to find out they didnt accept my medications but in the policy it says it does so my question is do they accept medications or not???
MetLife - Pet Insurance
I’ve had MetLife pet insurance on both my dogs for the past three years. As of lately processing claims has become a hassle and is often messed up requiring you to HAVE to pay close attention. Example is when processing a two claims at the same time (one for each dog) the app has automatically changed one of the claims from one dog name to the other on its own about a few days to a week after the submission. The problem with this is they will either deny the claim as a double submission or recently approved it under the dog who has 90% coverage vs the dog who has 100% coverage.
Updated Friday, 9/5/25. I responded same day to MetLife response as requested through email same day and their response was someone would reach out and call me. Still waiting. Looks like sometimes their responses to bad surveys is to make them look responsive and accountable but actions speak louder. Do better MetLife
