Healthy Paws - PREDATORY rate hikes
PREDATORY rate hikes. I’ve had insurance with them for the last 6 years, and my rate shot up from $78 to $178 this year. Their reasoning was made with baseless claims that aren’t supported by hard data, saying the rate in my area went up because pet parents were filing more claims. Even if that were the case, never has my rate risen over 100%.
Run away to Figo, ASPCA, or Trupanion. This company should be fined for what they do to the people they insure. Now my dog is 10, and I cannot switch my insurance up because of a pre-existing condition.
I don’t know how these people sleep at night.
Trupanion - Trupanion will insure you… until they don’t

They’ll use any past abnormality — no matter how small — to deny future claims.

Embrace - I have submitted my pet's records…
I have submitted my pet's records multiple times to Embrace and so has my vet. I keep getting messages that I have to resend them and that my claims are on hold until my vet and myself resubmit the invoices. I have met other people that have Embrace and they never had this issue. My vet clinic is surprised also, as they submit many claims to them as well.
MetLife - They just lie so far
They advertise no wait time for covering a pets general checkup at least in Washington State, and they in fact do not cover them.
ASPCA - Completely unhelpful customer service…
Completely unhelpful customer service and did not solve my concern at all. I called and emailed asking why 10% was not applied for adding a second dog and all they said was that the discount was applied. I asked for an invoice detailing that discount being applied and they did not know what to do and kept saying that the discount was applied. A total scam.

Your website continuously had issues of not working and stating try again later. I assume this is your way of slowing down the submission of claims since you very rarely process any claims at 10 days or less.

MetLife - Policy Increase
MetLife increased my policy by over $700 a year. They are stating that this policy that I have no longer exists therefore I have to pay the price for it. I called multiple times they did not want to help me except for wanting to reduce my coverage which I do not want to do that was their only option. Their customer service was terrible I was lied to a couple of times by customer service and I was told that if I did not want to change my coverage then there wasn't anything that they could do for me since my policy that I have doesn't exist anymore

Your timely response to complete claims is awful!!!!! Says 5-10 days, it might wait a month!!!!! To get my money back and every time I submit a claim it duplicates it, and then you all are so confused that you can't figure it out!!! Your system sucks!!!!!
Embrace - Disappointed After 16 Years
Disappointed After 16 Years – Outrageous Premium Hike
I’ve been a loyal Embrace Pet Insurance customer for 16 years, insuring six different animals through them. Over that time, I rarely used the insurance for my cats, but I paid consistently, trusting they’d be there when I needed them. That trust is now completely broken.
Out of nowhere, they’ve raised my monthly premium from $237.46 to $478.99. That’s more than double. Their only suggestion? Lower the coverage on my 16-year-old cats. Seriously? After all these years of loyalty and minimal claims, this is how they treat longtime customers?
I’ve never experienced anything like this before, even with pets that have aged or passed. It feels like a cash grab, and it’s unacceptable. I’m pulling my remaining pet, Shiloh, off their policy immediately. I refuse to go through this again as he gets older.
I’ll be switching providers and removing any positive reviews I’ve left in the past. If you’re considering Embrace, think twice.
Update to their response: Since I can't reply to Embrace. Their suggestion of changing parameters does not help my aging cats or coverage. I've barely had any claims, and they have never raised my premiums with my other older animals, who are now passed. This increase is over 100%. Basically, they are telling me to raise my deductible and lower my coverage to get lower monthly fees, after paying them for 16 years. The cats went from 15 to 16. It's not like they just got old.
