Have an issue with your insurance?
Let everyone know!
Insurance companies are constantly reviewing us. Are we too old? Do we live in the wrong place? Is our credit score high enough? Well, now it's time to turn the tables. Do you charge too much? Will you pay my claim quickly? Is your coverage worse than it seems? We can review you too.

Embrace - Biggest waste of money in my life
Biggest waste of money in my life, even with the USAA discount. There are plenty of other pet insurance options that will give you more for less.
If I were smart I would have just put aside a small chunk of my savings strictly for my dogs health.
Spot - Disappointed with the return
After spending $230 on a a yearly exam and vaccines. I would expect to get more than $100 back. This is not the first or the second time this has happened. I very seldom use the insurance and feel you should get more money for keeping your pet healthy.
Embrace - multiple claims
multiple claims, none considered or applied to deductible just says " awaiting medical history" despite me sending in veterinary records myself
MetLife - Claim Processing & Review Time
Your claim processing time is my chief complaint. Almost one year into my policy, and I still have the same issue as started. You need to streamline and improve your response and review time to less than a week.
I do have to share that you have a very good customer service line and leadership
Embrace - They can let people that know nothing…no help
They can let people that know nothing about insurance know more about how it exactly runs and what it does. I have the insurance from you and i have put in at least 4 claims and they didn't approve not one of them. Embrace sucks.
Trupanion - I have used trupanion for 7 years
I have used trupanion for 7 years. And my rate has gone from $40 to $112 a month. That’s $480 to $1,344 annually ( that’s with a $1000 deductible)Trupanion says they never increase rates based on claims you submit. Instead, they use a complicated formula to increase your rate. This rate doesn’t cover office visits or any well care ( others do). And only reimburses 90% of covered costs. My dog has been diagnosed with a chronic illness that makes it impossible for me to switch companies now. I really wish I had chosen a different company. Do your homework, Trupanion is not a good company.
Spot - Still waiting to hear back about my…
Still waiting to hear back about my claims
MetLife - Slow on reimbursement
MetLife used to be incredibly fast for reimbursement. However, that is no longer the case. We’re usually left waiting around 4-6 weeks before we see any movement in claim status on the app/reimbursement.
Trupanion - Premium doubled in 3 years
When we adopted our dog back in May of 2022, we signed her up for insurance before she was even a year old. At the time, our monthly premium was $155.91. It seemed high but we wanted to make sure she was covered.
But every single year since then, the premium has shot up by about $50. Yesterday, June 20, 2025, we got hit with another rate increase. It's now $330.52 a month. That’s more than double what we started with.
It really feels like the strategy here is to make it so expensive that people are forced to cancel coverage once their pet starts aging.
Edit after Trupanion response. I appreciate the reply. However at the current rate if increase we are on track for the monthly premium to be $680 a month by the time our dog is 10 years old. No amount of marketing fluff makes that reasonable.
And I did speak to your company when we got the second increase last year and was told verbatim the script you entered as a response to this review.
Regardless of your reasons, potential customers should be aware their premiums are likely to double in just 3 years like ours did.
That's the point of reviews so people know from other customers what to expect.
The staff is friendly and helpful; however, they require a lot of work on your part to process a claim. I've submitted two claims, and one-third of the first one has been paid. I suppose I had a deductible that I wasn't aware of, so that's on me, the second one was never processed because of information that my vet needed to supply that was not received. You have to be very diligent about getting them the paperwork they need. It would be helpful if the company could be more involved in communicating with the veterinarian practice so their customers just have to put in the claim and leave the rest to them.
