Embrace - Bait and Switch on premiums with Embrace
The first year I signed up for Embrace for our 7-year old Maltese, our premiums were $93/month for unlimited annual and lifetime coverage, with a $500 annual deductible and 90% coverage. When it came time to renew for year two, I was notified that my premiums would go up 52% to $141/month for the same coverage. I had to significantly cut our coverage to reduce our policy back to the same $93/month. This felt like a big bait and switch, but we already invested a year in this plan so we opted to continue at the lower coverage level. The customer service agents are friendly and helpful but the company seems set up to provide increasingly fewer benefits for more money over time.
Pets Best - Very disappointed in the length of time…
Very disappointed in the length of time it took to settle my claim.
Fetch Canada - This company has the worst customer service
This company has the worst customer service. I have been running in circles trying to get more information on why my pet’s claim was declined. Each email and phone call they give me the same general answer of “it was a pre-existing condition” but when I ask how this is determined and show proof that it was not a pre-existing condition they cannot give me any information. They will deem everything pre-existing so they do not reimburse anything. Customer service is all run by bots so it is extremely difficult to talk to a real person.
Pets Best - This company will do anything it can to…
This company will do anything it can to get out of paying a valid claim- You can call them the UNited Healthcare of pet insurance
Spot - SPOT PET INSURANCE IS A SCAM
SPOT PET INSURANCE IS A SCAM! THEY LOVE TAKING MY MONTHLY PREMIUM'S BUT WHEN IT CAME TIME TO MAKE A FIRST CLAIM THEY CAME UP WITH A B.S. PRE-EXISTING CONDITIONS AND WOULD NOT COVER THE TREATMENT OF THE LARGE HEMATOMA ON MY BOYS RIGHT EAR.
BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!!!!!!!
B.W. / COMMERCE TWP. MI
Trupanion - Would provide 0 stars if possible
Would provide 0 stars if possible. All claims submitted have been denied in full without explanation despite my policy documents stating that visits would be covered, at least in part. Customer service is abysmal. Will not recommend and have had to find and purchase a policy elsewhere in addition to the one I supposedly have here. Run don't walk from this scam. They are happy to take your money, but have provided absolutely no benefits, to my pet or my family. Simply wasted my funds and caused additional stress from the extra time and frustration allocated to trying to contact a person to provide assistance or information at every step, even with simple requests like updating my pets name upon bringing him home from the breeder when first incorporated to our family. Save yourself the frustration and your premium and just find a reputable policy or pay out of pocket to your vet as required.
Nationwide - Benefits don't account for increased costs
I had always been happy with my Nationwide Pet Insurance and recommended them to everyone, until now. Insurance saved me quite a bit of money in the past with both my dogs, however, they don't save you nearly as much as they used to, and I'm not sure the cost of the policy is worth the amount they reimburse for. I'm sure everyone has noticed a significant increase in veterinary expenses; diagnostics like X-rays, ultrasounds, and medications have gone up in price substantially in the last five years, as well as the cost of insurance, yet the coverage the insurance provides is the same as it was back in 2018 when I first got my pets insurance policy. My insurance has gone up $100.00 per month in the last two years, but the amount they reimburse for everything has remained the exact same amount. I find that to be a bit insane. I guess it's to be expected when it comes to insurance companies, but it's hard to justify spending over $2500 per year on pet insurance, which now only covers about half the amount of the vet bills. I'm still left paying thousands, on top of the thousands I'm paying for coverage. If my dog weren't a senior at this point, I'd be shopping for a new insurance company, but I definitely won't be referring people anymore. I would think that at least some sort of benefits increase would be warranted at this point.
Spot - Response to claim was quick, but not efficient
Response to claim was quick, but I had to submit twice due to prepayment for one test. I understand the service was not yet rendered, but I wouldn't have paid if I did not intend to drop off the sample. Why make me submit twice... the amount was paid.
