Lemonade - Sneaky and unreliable
Lemonade bought my prior insurer, so my pay per mile insurance (I barely drive) transferred to them. After years with zero problems on metromile, within a few months of the switch to lemonade the dongle that tracks my miles silently dropped its connection, and without texting or calling me, lemonade just increased my monthly payment from around $60 to around $1500 and started taking that out of my bank account. Again, with no attempt to contact me first. Freaking crazy, avoid these jackals at all costs.
ASPCA Pet Insurance - Overly Complicated Claims process and bad Communication
I have had nothing but trouble with ASPCA. Their communication is poor, their customer service line cannot seem to get it straight was is needed and they do not communicate back to try to resolve an issue. They also say that they have reached out about medical history, but that is not the case. I am so far very unimpressed with ASPCA Pet Insurance

I want paperwork I want a packet delivered to my home for my file. Computer broke. Im old school. Please send me all my rights of coverage for future vet bills.
Lemonade - charged after requesting cancellation
I requested to cancel my policy Oct 2024. They responded to my request but did not honor it. I continued be charged a monthly premium until I noticed this on my credit card in May 2025. I reached out and complained. They finally closed the policy but refused to reimburse me for Dec-May even though I sent them the original email showing my request to cancel in December.
Dutch Pet Insurance - The vet was excellent. Glitches in checkout/price match, but eventually was rectified.
The vet was great. But there seems to be a lot of trouble with getting the price matched. Their medications are way overpriced. And my checkout amount in the basket greatly exceeded the items. I tried their chat, their email, MANY times. No one replies. I've been working on this for hours.
Pet Insurance - Definitely do not recommend
Definitely do not recommend. Will fight you on claims, and raise your premiums insanely high with no consent from you. There is better, and cheaper, pet insurance companies out there: PetsBest, Lemonade, etc. Definitely don’t waste your time with Nationwide.
Resident Insure - The insurance policy I was forced to…
The insurance policy I was forced to get for an apartment was to protect the owner and there for should of been paid by the owner. When renting the apartment they lead you to believe they are to protect the renter and require you to get homebody.com insurance policy. My home was destroyed Oct 2024 by hurricane Helene and Milton. I've asked several times for them to cancel the policy and they say they will and then charge you again. It's May 2025 they owe me a reimbursement and to go honor my request to stop chewing the account. I will have to have the bank so this for me and I worry they will try to continue billing me so I have started making request by email.
Lemonade - Apparently not interested in keeping customers.
How could anyone give this company more than 1 star? Their app is pathetic. You can't pull up your policy. There's no way to link your policy.
Lemonade - Poor customer service and dishonest behaviour
Poor customer service. I've been with them for 2 years, and they upped my insurance by £50. I was happy to pay the extra, but now they're not honouring this and are making me get a new quote through their website which is much more expensive!
Healthy Paws Pet Insurance - NO LONGER a good insurance
We have had Healthy Paws for our pets since 2010. They USED TO BE good and processed claims as advertised. Over the years they removed more and more types of services covered. Now it is HORRIBLE to get claims processed. When you call it is awful and impossible to get a straight answer. They always assure you that something will happen right away and then it doesn’t. I am now waiting FIVE MONTHS for claims to be processed. And they stack one on top of the other! They have “claims” and “tickets” and “cases” and they “send direct messages” to each other and repeated emails to me and the vet, yet nothing EVER gets resolved. We are paying over $300 PER MONTH for insurance that doesn’t pay out!!! Time to change to Costco insurance. So sick of their fawning and LIES LIES LIES.
