Spot Pet Insurance - On November 1st
On November 1st, I took my cat to Urgent Care and I had inquired about Spot insurance that day. I was informed there would be a $500 deductible and it was $50 a month, so I agreed. For the next month and a half, I was taking my cat to the vet and was communication with Spot. They told me to submit the claims and that I should be expecting payment reimbursements soon. My cat unfortunately had to be put down, and I had to close out with Spot, and they reassured me that I can continue to submit the claims for reimbursement. A month goes by and I receive nothing, so I called them. They then told me that because my cat was taken to the hospital for coughing before I signed up with Spot that they would not cover anything.
Fetch Pet - these are scammers
these are scammers! I applied for compensation twice. and twice I learned about new non-coverages of this insurance. although they promise to cover exams and tests
Spot Pet Insurance - Honestly thought the reimbursement…
Honestly thought the reimbursement payments would be much closer to actual totals and when needed for my dogs surgery it was only 1/4 of an emergency surgery for the better quality of life for my dog and unfortunately was unable to afford the surgery so my dog continues to suffer.
ASPCA Pet Insurance - Very disappointed
Very disappointed. I was excited to find a reasonably priced pet insurance at ASPCA. I have a rescue dog that I got at the end of May 2024. In June of 2024, I took him to the vet (prior to my ASPCA insurance policy) because he had been stung by a wasp near his eye. The eye swelled shut. The vet said he had an allergic reaction to the sting. Now, several months later he started having skin issues on his neck. After repeated vet visits, the skin issues were resolved. The vet (different from the first vet due to my relocation) said the issues were caused by a seasonal allergy. ASPCA denied my claim for the skin issues, citing "an existing condition". So apparently the insect bite reaction and the seasonal allergy are the exact same thing. They also said that ANY claim regarding an allergic reaction will be denied going forward. So that's how they can be so reasonably priced, by denying all claims. Thanks ASPCA.
Spot Pet Insurance - My pets was a member of spot insurance…
My pet was a member of spot insurance for 2 years. Here is my experience: my cat had a vomit for 4 days, at the vet clinic they did X Ray, blood test, didn’t find any diseases like diabetes or stone in kidney, told me to monitor her state and charged me with $1065 💰. Pyshka had an accident coverage only and blood tests, scans or CT are included in the accident coverage. The SPOT insurance reimbursement was $18.0 as they thought Pyshka had gastrointestinal problems, but she didn’t 😡. My cat choked with a hairball and it was coming out after day 4. So, I’m not longer a member of this insurance 🤯
ASPCA Pet Insurance - FLAT OUT LIED/Poor Claim Processing
I had a claim processed on 2/11 and was waiting for reimbursement to be deposited. I called ASPCA on 2/11 to find out the status and was told reimbursement was processed on this date and will be deposited via method of payment on file. I called again today and was told check is in the mail. Rep was unapologetic and unconcerned. I was flat out LIED to...NEVER AGAIN!!!

Spot Pet Insurance - Reimbursement Struggles
Absolutely ridiculous that I was not notified that the direct deposit bounced back and I’m still waiting for the refund check. I’ve called on this 3 times! I will likely be cancelling my policy!
ASPCA Pet Insurance - DO NOT RECOMMEND!!
DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! This insurance will find any way to deny a claim and won’t give you a reason why! WASTE OF MONEY!!! If you are with VCA try their insurance instead, it covers way more and it’s the same cost!
Spot Pet Insurance - I ‘Spot’ed Something Shady
Never, never, ever would I recommend Spot for pet insurance. I was really on the fence about continuing my pet insurance after year one. So I called and talked to a representative and decided to cancel, but I was also a heavy user of the Spot app to check my bill date, coverage etc. Long story short I decided to cancel by phone in December, but in January I went on the app and renewed my policy. I even chose different coverage amounts and had a brand new premium. I was thinking this is great and convenient! However, in February I received a notice that I was dropped. No reminder leading up to that date, just your policy is over. That shouldn’t have been the case anyway since I renewed in the app with plenty of time left in my policy. Obviously I called to see what happened. My only response after talking to multiple people at Spot was, “Sorry the app doesn’t count you have to call back.” The representative should have told you this.” I was blown away. I was thinking to myself are they talking about those disclosures like “this call is being recording for quality training purposes.” I was blown away. What is the point of the app if you can’t actually use it and the app is not honored. Who has time to make a call sometimes? Also, how dumb of a company policy when you could continue to receive payments from a customer for an entire year. These insurance policies are not like car insurance that you can cancel or change at any time. You are locked in for a year. What is the real kicker is that after dropping me, anything that I had previously put in as a claim for my dog is now considered a pre-existing condition. Spot utilizes deceptive business practices and is just shady in their dealings. If you care about your pet, don’t even consider Spot!
