Embrace - Worst pet insurance experience ever
Worst pet insurance experience ever. I submitted two claims over the summer that were never reimbursed. They claimed I needed to meet my deductible and spend an additional $38, which I did, but they only reimbursed me $12. I previously had Lemonade Pet Insurance, which was outstanding, but Embrace has been a nightmare for nearly a year. I would never recommend them to anyone—it's been a total scam
Embrace - i’m super bummed
i’m super bummed. What a scam. Call sales. They answer in 12 seconds. Calll customer support- an hour wait. Don’t do it.
Embrace - Bait and switch
First policy renewal and the premium doubled!! No claims at time of renewal. Bait and switch tactic which will now cause issues when I change back to our previous insurance since they will be new pets instead of having a history on the policy. And because I had a claim (just after the policy renewal) now that will be a preexisting condition on any new policy and won’t be covered in future.
Really got screwed over with long lasting repercussions.
Nationwide - I was offered Pet insurance through my…
I was offered Pet insurance through my company. well, don't waste your time. I have 2 dogs and 1 cat I insured them all. I made a claim on our 2 year old Giant schnauzer and it was denied, He had one testicle that did not descend and our local veterinary clinic stated he needed surgery to remove the testicle and Nationwide would not cover it. They stated Neutering was not covered. Well we had no intention on neutering him . well we never got reimbursed for that. then in November he got a stick stuck in his mouth he needed to be rushed to an emergency clinic and the clinic needed to but him to sleep to remove the stick , Nationwide also refused to pay for that stating, the clinic did not itemize the bill. I called the clinic and asked for it to be itemized and the clinic sent me the exact same form. when I spoke to a representative from Nationwide they said they needed it itemized I asked if they could call the clinic. The representative I spoke to just did not seem like they wanted to go out of their way to do anything for a paying customer. needless to say 2 claims both rejected. I think it was time to cancel our policy.
Please don't waste your money on Nationwide
Fetch Canada - Horrible coverage
Horrible coverage - I paid the monthly fee uploaded all documents that were required. I had two claims - and they denied both based on not having a physical exam on my dog 12 months prior. I got the dog given to me by a elderly family member who passed and had no history on her or even knew which vet she had taken her too...as soon as I got her I took her for check up to the vet where they found some dental issues (they want to call it pre-exisiting) how is someone supposed to get coverage on older dogs? They want to be in the business of helping dogs - well they suck at it. I paid a monthly fee for literally nothing, I cancelled my policy and going with a different provider.
Not worth the headache dealing with FETCH!
Embrace - Deceptive billing practices
Been with you for several years, and been very happy, until now. I never received a renewal email notice this year, nor did I receive notice the day before I was billed. Seems convenient, seeing as my premium had a 200% increase. And because I didn't notice it until the day I was billed, and you were closed , I had to wait until the next day to cancel. And then I was charged 15 dollars for those 2 days. You don't allow cancelation through the website. So, you should have 24 hour coverage, so when someone gets blind sided, they can take action immediately. I feel it is deceptive billing practices, and that is how I am going to address it to the BBB. I have had the same email address since joining, and it wasn't in my junk mail. I am sure I am not the only one who has been surprised.
Fetch - They claim they don't penalize you for…
They claim they don't penalize you for claims; but you will be coverage reductions and multiple fold price increases if you want to keep the policy.
Since you have one shot on pet insurance to avoid pre-existing clauses, this is not a company that you want to keep if you have to actually use the insurance.
Embrace - Pricy but good Customer Care
I rate them a 3 because I had them for 2-3 years and never had a claim. Not even a minor claim. My rate started around 20 a month and gradually moved up to 35 a month for barebones coverage. I have just in case something happens to the dog but not expecting to use. After the 3rd price hike, I reached out saying I was going to switch to another carrier due to their rates and asked if they could look at my history and see if there was anything that could be done with the rates. They said no. I have since switched to PetsBest and my rate for higher coverage is less than 1/2 the cost.
On the flip side, their app and customer care were always good to deal with but again I never had a claim. If you are in my shoes, I'd look elsewhere. Too pricy.
Spot - Worse pet insurance ever
Worse pet insurance ever ! Always giving excuses to not approve claims. Please don’t buy this insurance it’s a waist of money they will not approve any of your claims even with all the medical records. Additionally when I tied to cancel they were even making excuses to not cancel it by claiming there was no one there to cancel . Ridiculous!
Trupanion - My rate went from $90 to $220 in a…
My rate went from $90 to $220 in a couple of years. That's almost as much as I pay for my own health insurance and they have yet to cover any of my claims including a very expensive hip surgery. It's such a rip off, spca and nationwide have much better customer service and rates. I mean honestly at this point I could've put the money I've spent on trupanion away each month and paid off the surgery and other services and still had money left over. What's the point of insurance when this becomes the case?
