Dutch Pet Insurance - This website isn’t an emergency place
This website isn’t an emergency place, if you need to get your pets treated right away then do not use their services, I had a German shepherd and he got an ear infection and they sent his medicine in a week and if you want the medicine right away then you have to pay extra money for that. It’s not worth it just go to your regular vet and pay reasonable fee and pick up the medication right away instead of waiting 2 weeks….This website is a rip off and they will see you for 3 minutes and make you wait for the medication like a couple of weeks.

I’m really disappointed with my experience using Dutch. I was only able to access the app on the first day—and after that, I was completely locked out. I missed critical follow-up information from my veterinarian and had no way to understand what they were trying to communicate about my pet’s care.
Dutch Pet Insurance - USELESS SCAM
First, they only offer an annual subscription and it is IMPOSSIBLE to reach anyone or get any kind of customer assistance. Vet was meh. My dog gets occasionally bouts of loose stool/diarrhea. My past vets would prescribe a 10 day, 2x/day course of pills. Dutch vet prescribed only 3 PILLS. 3. Then I get an email the next day with tracking info - another 10 DAYS until I'd receive the meds. Absolutely USELESS especially since I had to pay addtional $29.50 'Pharmacy Processing Fee'.
Dutch Pet Insurance - I was charged $317 for a medication I didn’t ask for—misleading and coercive flow
I used Dutch to consult with a vet about anxiety treatment for my indoor-only cat. The appointment itself was excellent—the vet was thoughtful, clear, and said he would prescribe something to help with stress. That’s what I expected to receive.

Dutch Pet Insurance - Today I was very disappointed with this…
Today I was very disappointed with this company. I scheduled two appointments for my kittens. For the second appointment, I never received a link for the video call. Then they offered to reschedule the visit for July 1st. Today is June 25th. Who’s going to wait a whole week just to speak with a vet, and then wait another 3 days for the medication? Don’t waste your time — go to a regular veterinarian instead.
Dutch Pet Insurance - Denied Legal Right to Prescription – Poor Transparency and Accountability
I had a deeply frustrating experience with Dutch and Dr. Armstrong, a veterinarian licensed in Idaho, who treated my dog via telemedicine.
Dutch Pet Insurance - Terrible customer service
The veterinarians are great so I gave two stars. Customer service is horrible. The vet ordered treatment for an acute problem. It's twelve days after seeing the vet and paying for the meds and I still have no meds. You can't speak with anyone in customer service. You are told to text and get no response. When I did get a response after ten days I was told to wait another two days. Clearly the company does not care about animals. What good is seeing the vet if you can't get the treatment.
Dutch Pet Insurance - Dutch removed prescription access with no notice — waste of money
I paid for an annual Dutch membership in January 2025 specifically to access virtual vet visits and prescription medications like Bravecto, which were actively being advertised and available at the time.
Dutch Pet Insurance - Dutch is a SCAM
Idk who is rating Dutch anything but 1 star, but they are a total scam. They overcharge for everything, and they only sell name brand meds so they can charge an arm and a leg. They say they price match, but not to the generic, AND every price match you have to submit ample proof to get the discount. I absolutely would NOT recommend them, and think they are a despicable company who is only out to make a ton of money conning people. AVOID THE SCAM, stick with an honest vet who will give you a prescription you can take anywhere to be filled.
