Dutch Pet Insurance - F### Dutch
This was the biggest waste of time and money I have ever spent.
Dutch Pet Insurance - Wonderful Vets but Dutch Customer Service is useless
The veterinarians are always wonderful. They are very caring and knowledgeable.
Dutch Pet Insurance - Horrible experience
Horrible experience. They promise but don't deliver and seem to have no one responsible for correcting their mistakes.
Dutch Pet Insurance - Greta Goranova and I had a zoom…
Greta Goranova and I had a zoom appointment at 1610 on 10/9/24. I was on zoom waiting and when she ‘arrived’ her first words were, ‘we only have 5 minutes because you were late’, I wasn’t late and in my description of my dogs problem I requested she read his file before logging on. She did not. I then attempted to give her a very abbreviated description of Marley’s situation. ‘He had had a full course of neomycin, polymyxin B sulphates & dexamethasone’ that ended 2 weeks ago. My request was to find out if (in her professional opinion) if these were just ‘old fart’ eyes as he could still take short walks, etc. I shown the camera on Marley’s face and asked her to make an assessment of how his eyes looked. Her response, ‘well how am I supposed to assess which you just moving the camera around. Completely argumentative and defensive.
Dutch Pet Insurance - no customer service number
This company has no customer-service number. I got what I needed from the consult with the vet (not a pleasant experience): prescription for an ear infection. However, they took it upon themselves to subscribe me to medication, and as a result a new bottle of ear wash arrives every month. I cancelled and cannot recommend.
Dutch Pet Insurance - First visit vet says
First visit vet says, I’ve got a lot of things to do and people to see, let’s see the cat. Okay she’s got a viral infection I’ll prescribe meds and she dipped. 3 minutes start to finish if that king. Then she prescribed medication that’s been marked up more than a thousand percent. Tried to make me buy more than I needed. $154 for basic antibiotics until they released it to single buy which it wouldn’t let me do at first. Then it would’ve taken 12 days to get this important overpriced medication UNLESS I gave them another $15 for rush. I instantly canceled my subscription even though it’ll be a year before it is over. I may even contact my bank to make sure that company doesn’t try some bs with my card. Don’t use this company and don’t believe the good reviews they’re fake
Dutch Pet Insurance - NEVER would I use this service
NEVER would I use this service. The vets are decent enough but they do TEN minute appointments which is not enough to discuss anything - even something as simple as flea meds (what we were trying to get) Then I was rudely disconnected. Once you actually get a prescrption (they won't send you one - they insist on "transferring" the script if you have say a Petco or someplace where you just wanted to pick it up. The "transfer" will take 2-5 business days - so this PUSHES you to order through Dutch - and they aren't as cheap as Petco - for recurring orders you get up to a 30 discount at Petco - nothing through Dutch. You also cannot message back the vet you spoke to - you cannot speak to a live person AT ALL, There is no one available in "customer service" on the weekends that is anything but a basic phone operator. TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY
Dutch Pet Insurance - Not worth the "savings"
I have had Dutch for about a month because my cat has a UTI that won't seem to go away, you will never see the same vet twice, there is no way to follow up with a vet you have seen, there is no phone number and they do not get back to you at all via the messaging service text or email. I have been stood up by a vet and had a vet take a video call from her morning hike.
Dutch Pet Insurance - Disappointed now quite pleased!
I had a video visit with a vet scheduled and waited 25 minutes, no show. Yea on my account it says video visit completed.
Dutch Pet Insurance - Streamline Communications and Make Ordering Meds Easier
I have used Dutch vet online before. I actually have written many positive posts on various FB groups recommending Dutch. Today I had an appt for my cat who is battling a UTI. I agreed to a treatment plan and tried to order the prescribed medications. I paid for priority shipping but the earliest date they could get it to me was up to 3 days later. I emailed the vet and begged him to call the meds to a local pharmacy so I could get her treatment started. All he did was refer to customer care. Customer care did not get back to me until the very end of the day. I placed their order with Dutch online because I needed medication for my cat. I am now stuck waiting 3 days. This whole experience became about ordering their meds, not about the welfare and care of my cat. I found the approach a bit unethical and I have a much different perspective about this company. After writing this, the company did send a referral to a local pharmacy and waived the transfer fee. This enabled me to purchase from a local pharmacy versus Dutch. Their customer care team followed up to see if I picked up the medication from the pharmacy I had given them. I called the pharmacy and they had no record of a prescription being called into them. I informed Dutch and they said they would follow-up again with the pharmacy. At this point in time , it has been 4 days since I initially spoke to the vet and I still do not have the medication. I ended up taking my cat to a local vet in order to understand what was happening with her. I think the process of getting medication for a sick pet needs to be streamlined with Dutch. Four days to wait for medication for a pet with a health problem is just too long. Dutch only allows you to communicate via text messaging or their internal messages on their app which is quite often delayed.
