Go Pet Plan - They were taken over about a year ago…
They were taken over about a year ago and I’ve really gone down hill. They just delay paying the claim and keep saying they don’t have the forms and you have to call your vet again and again and again and have them sent their customer service representatives have no idea what’s going on and give wrong information . There’s a lot better companies out there now with more coverage for less premium
Go Pet Plan - Hi I recently had a claim with Petplan…
Hi I recently had a claim with Petplan which who I had been a client for years with no real claims. The customer service was great but I feel they looked for a loophole in paying my claim because it was a rather large one. It makes me feel very frustrated with their claim process and not wanting to continue to do business with them as they might not provide the coverage they claim to. Be very aware of their rules and stipulations for paying claims as they are out for their own interests not the pet or the policy holders.
Go Pet Plan - Abysmal Claim Handling
Have insured my dogs with Petplan for well over 30 years now, always with satisfactory results until now. Latest claim took over EIGHT weeks to settle, and then only after 4 chasers from me over the period plus two from my vet. Kept asking questions that they should have had on their database - dog has been insured with them for over 7 years, and then only when prodded. Whoever handled this claim should be sacked, or at least retrained. Will not be recommending you to anyone in future. Only one word for it ABYSMAL
Go Pet Plan - Lack of integrity is costing my dog.
This is a horrible company. I was concerned when they changed their terms of service and contacted customer service. I was assured of the process I followed and reimbursement would follow. They denied the claim and justified it on the changes I was specifically told wouldn't impact my pet. When I appealed I was told a contract was binding, and then told there is no requirement to read, or acknowledge the contract with a signature. The the only acknowledgement they have is a log of my contact with customer service. I have tried to allow them to behave ethically and honor the commitments of their employees, but they continue to deny coverage. Please make sure you submit each and every medical bill to them - hit them where it hurts. Make them pay for their lies that endanger our pets.
Go Pet Plan - I went to make a claim and was told i…
I went to make a claim and was told i had to provide a 2 year medical history for my pet (who is only 1 1/2). Perhaps that was in the fine print but really! She also has had 3 different vets and the idea of spending even more money to request this - during COVID no less just wasn't worth it.
Go Pet Plan - Horrible claims process
edit with update: After taking 4 weeks to process a claim, during which the same information was asked for multiple times. They have only paid out a small fraction of what I am owed with no explanation of how they came to this figure. I will now be forced to take this to AFCA for resolution. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
Go Pet Plan - From great to awful
I agree with the many other reviews that they have gone drastically downhill the last few years. I've been with them for 8 years now and my premiums have more than doubled every year the last 3 years when I've made 0 - 1 claims / year, without any warning whatsoever. The coverage and ability to get reimbursements has gotten much worse at the same time. I was appalled to see my most recent new annual charge on my credit card statement when I didn't receive any warning and it had nearly tripled. I will update this review if they work out something fair, but I'm doubtful that will happen. Planning on canceling and disputing the credit card charge as this is predatory behavior. Unfortunately my dog has a pre-existing condition that he's developed while he's had Petplan that will make finding a new plan challenging, but I'm confident that we'll be better off even without insurance than with what Petplan is now offering. It's very sad because I loved them in the early days and referred them to many family members and friends :(
Go Pet Plan - They have so many hidden policies
They have so many hidden policies. They try to use every single policy not to pay your claim. I double-checked their first page and checked it up to the payment page multiple times. I did not see anything about "Establishing a Baseline Health". I also checked the confirmation email that they sent me after buying the policy and did not see such a thing as well.
Go Pet Plan - Will do anything in their power to NOT pay claims
If you have a rescue dog, don't use Pet Plan! Especially if your animal was sick when you adopted them. They will claim everything is a "pre-existing condition" and not pay. I was told that because my dog had Giardia when first adopted that any claim for diarrhea going forward would be denied, even if the diagnosis was not Giardia. I also had issues with claims due to the fact that I have no idea what my dog's health history is or how old she is. Almost $60/month for two years was a complete waste! When I called to cancel the policy, the woman I talked to was extremely rude. She asked why I wanted to cancel-I told her, and she became super condescending. "Well you know that if something major happens, it won't be covered..." I told her I just planned to get a credit card for emergencies. "Well you know you have to pay credit cards back..." Thank you! I'm aware of how credit cards work. I told her nothing she could say would make me continue to pay for "coverage" with them, and she hung up on me.
Go Pet Plan - Saying goodbye to petplan
Well, after so many years with petplan I've finally given up. We went from paying around 17$ a month for our cat to now 40$ a month as she is now 7 years old (apparently the prices skyrocket as they age even without any health problems). They require a 450$ deductible per year before they start paying out at 80%. Also, we were unaware that after a certain age they require yearly check ups so we didnt take her this year with everyrhing going on and now they won't cover the most recent claim, remind you we have never filed a claim before this and the money we paid out of pocket was a little over 600$ so at most we may have gotten $80ish back but it's become a whole ordeal and they still won't process the claim. To much of a hassel for 40$ a month better off to save that money yourself.
