Healthy Paws Pet Insurance - Scamn company you'll not get a penny back
Very bad company seems they do everything to not pay you back
Healthy Paws Pet Insurance - So Disappointed! I read all the reviews both personal…
I read all the reviews both personal and business ratings by companies such as Forbes. What a surprise it was to make my first claim in almost four years for my dog and get the “ run around”. I made the claim the middle of June and was assured that this claim would be reviewed by this past Wednesday- 7/ 20/23. Several phone calls and faxes prior to this have been made. Today is Thursday and of course no response to have this claim settled has been offered. (all necessary paperwork has been sent twice ) My payments have been made on time ( drawn from a credit card) and I expect service to live up to their commitment ( usually 2-3 days processing time per their website). I have no recourse but to warn others of the false claims Healthy Paws makes. I am retired and I chose this policy so that I would not have to “ worry” about giving my dog the best care possible even with my being on a limited budget. I wanted that reassurance of a healthcare plan that would take care of my “ loved “ friend if unexpected occurrences happened. I have not received that help or assistance Please be warned and look at other policies . Our “ furry” friends deserve better!! I’m hoping that these comments will be published.

Healthy Paws Pet Insurance - Warning to customers..
Warning to customers.. do not submit cremation/end of life receipt until you have a chance to submit all other receipts. They will cancel your policy immediately and you will not have access to your account. Thankfully, I had pet insurance for Zeppelin. He was diagnosed with osteosarcoma at 5 yrs old. This led to several surgeries and chemo. I was happy with Healthy Paws until they canceled my account before I had a chance to submit all of my receipts. After Zeppelin's last surgery, which was front leg amputation, he lost the use of his back leg. This led to him only having the use in 2 legs. There was nothing left to do, I had to say goodbye to the love of my life. I had a mobile vet come to my house to send him to Heaven peacefully. Within a very short amount of time (same day) that I submitted the receipt for his cremation, they immediately canceled my account. I couldn't access it to see what claims had been submitted. I was satisfied with them until they did this at the end. I wanted to leave my review so that others will know what to expect.
Healthy Paws Pet Insurance - Check out the Better Business Bureau reviews before making a decision. Quite different.
healthy paws will price you out of the market as your pet gets older. They will take your premiums when the likelihood of needing to file a claim is less and when your dog ages they will raise premiums astronomically until most people have to drop it. It's really strange how healthypaws has all these great reviews on this site but on the Better Business Bureau site they are a 2.75/5 with a lot of one star reviews!
Healthy Paws Pet Insurance - I’ve had insurance for 10 years with…
I’ve had insurance for 10 years with healthy paws and the 1 time I go to make a claim, everyone is dragging their feet, delaying payment. We’ve spent countless hours jumping thru all their hurdles and delay tactics including resubmitting info multiple times. I intend to pursue legally if not resolve shortly. I’d stay away from healthy paws altogether.
Healthy Paws Pet Insurance - Service has gone downhill
Service has gone downhill. We have been a member since 2016 and have been happy recommending HealthyPaws to our friends and family. But recently, not only have premiums constantly been going up, but they have become unscrupulous! My recent claim was denied citing "preexisting condition," but my dog never had this condition years ago when we first signed up for a policy!
Healthy Paws Pet Insurance - Misleading deductibles
When you start running the numbers, you will realize that you were paying far m ore than 20% deductible. Great example ER visit 437. They do not cover the ER charge which was 195. Which means my actual deductible was almost 50%, not 20%. They do not cover vet fees or ER fees. This is a workaround to not actually tell you exactly what they charge as a deductible. It's a dishonest practice. And I would stay as far away from healthy paws as I could. Unfortunately I've had them for 4 years and my dog is seven. So going somewhere else is going to be costly but I truly dislike deceptive trade practice.
Healthy Paws Pet Insurance - almost 5 years,Thousands spent with no cosideration. Price gouge for seinor dogs that have been with Healthy Paws for years.
I have been with this company since January 2019 . I had 2 dogs covered paying over $300 monthly. I never made a claim and never missed a payment before a debit card change in July. My payments were on auto pay. I called as soon as I discovered an issue less than 3 weeks from cancellation. They canceled my policy 30 days later with no reinstatement option. They couldn't care less about the fact that we have been long term clients with no claims and now my dogs are older and it will be hard to get reasonable coverage for them .They are supposed to care about pets , they are part of a non-profit , but they are really just concerned about their bottom line and no concern at all for the fact that my dogs are older now 12yrs and 10yrs and more likely to be having a claim in the later years of their life with absolutely no consideration for the fact that they have made thousands of dollars off of my dogs youth and health. The new quote is double the payment amount with 30-40 percent less coverage with 4x the deductible - Total RIP OFF from a company that has made thousands off of these two dogs with 0 claims for so many years. The reps got real rude and defensive when I let them know I wanted to escalate a complaint. They would not give me a viable method to file a formal complaint. He first gave a PO Box to mail a complaint. I asked for other options and whether somone could contact me . He sarcastically suggested BBB so I have complained there as well. Don't subscribe to Healthy paws. If you love your dogs, keep researching and get coverage with a company that loves pets too!!!
Healthy Paws Pet Insurance - Wouldn't recommend
They don't answer emails if you have a question. Didn't get a response until I told them I was cancelling, but they still ignored my original emails.
