*"I understand that premium increases, like any increase in something we use or pay for regularly, can be a stress financially. Our goal is to keep your premiums as low as possible while still providing the policy’s features and benefits. Premium rates are based on many factors, including the increasing cost of veterinary medicine, the pet’s age, breed, sex, and zip code. Insurance regulations require us to charge a premium that is sufficient to cover anticipated claims. Premium increases are filed and approved, where required, with your state’s insurance regulator. That being said, you do have options for decreasing your monthly premiums. If you would like to decrease the cost of your monthly premium, you can do so by assuming more financial responsibility in the cost of your pet's health care. You can do this by increasing your pet's coinsurance and/or annual deductible. If you would like more information on those options and what those premiums are, just let me know via replying to this email and I will be happy to send those over to you.If you would like to speak with me to review the matter further, you can simply reply to this email noting a few dates/times that work best for you, and I will be happy to call you back at your desired time. Please note that I am available Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 am - 4:00 pm Pacific Time."*
Healthy Paws Pet Insurance - Healthy Paws Pet Insurance Warning
Created a Reddit account to share this year's premium increase on every post or topic re: Healthy Paws. As a loyal customer since 2011, who has been dealing with the already massive price increases every year since 2020/21 but forced to deal with it, I can't anymore and am being forced to cancel. Sharing this for the greater good, and won't even share further details in hope the numbers you see below speaks for itself. Apologies that I cannot seem to post a screenshot. Started around $34 in 2011. These numbers are for 2 small dogs, with the majority of the increase related to the old one).

Healthy Paws - Electrochemotherapy and Pet Insurance Coverage
Hello can anyone share if their pet insurance covered electrochemotherapy for their pet? I have healthy paws and inquired and they said it “may be covered” subject to policy rules. However electrochemotherapy is not FDA-approved in the United States and healthy paws policy states they don’t cover non FDA-approved treatments. Just looking for some insight. Thanks.
Healthy Paws - Dog Insurance
Hello!
I have a 4 year old dog and I am looking to change my policy from healthy paws. I think they're great but I hate that I have to pay for yearly vaccinations/checkups and dont get re imbursed. Any recommendations for a good insurance that has a low deductible and will reimburse annual exams which include vaccinations, possible dental care and flea meds?
Thanks in advance!
Healthy Paws Pet Insurance - Healthy Paws Pet Insurance: From Great to Greedy – Stay Away!
I’ve had my two dogs insured with Healthy Paws for almost a decade, and at first, it seemed like a great choice, claims were really easy, they seemed like they cared by sending good will messages after a claim etc. Monthly premiums started at around $30–$40 per pet, then slowly crept up—$50, $70, $90. It was annoying but manageable, thought it was normal as dogs aged and there was also inflation.
Then, things went off the rails, I think it's because they were acquired by a bigger company (that's my speculation tho). My premium was already high at around \~$250/month for both dogs, but now they want **\~$550/month**— more than double overnight! No new benefits, no explanation, just pure corporate greed.
It’s clear they’re taking advantage of longtime customers with older pets, knowing we have fewer options due to pre-existing conditions. It’s a disgusting, predatory practice. They assume people won’t leave, but I’d rather pay another company—even if it costs more—than reward this behavior.
**I'd say avoid Healthy Paws at all costs.**
Also if anybody had changed insurances at a similar point and were happy after please let me know!
