Lemonade - Not a great experience with them
Not a great experience with them. Poor communication - not sure if I was communicating with a real person or AI. It was mostly canned reply and never address my questions or concerns. I hope they get better but I would not work with them again. Switch to a company with slightly higher rate but better service, communication and coverage.
Lemonade - Simple insurance claim made hard
What i thought was a simply burst pipe claim has become in my view "how many questions can the insurers come up with to defect the claim"
Lemonade - Lemonade - poor/fraudulent business practices
We purchased a renter's policy from Lemonade for three consecutive years in the same apartment building. We moved units from year to year but always notified Lemonade of the change in unit number, presuming they would transfer the policy from the old unit to the new one. Payment was a monthly auto pay on our credit card. When we reviewed our credit card statements, we discovered that we had been double charged for two years, so the company owes us a refund of approximately $200. They are refusing to refund more than one year of overpayments, saying they are following "industry standards." Huh? I will be filing complaints with the division of insurance in their home states (NY/AZ). Unacceptable.
Lemonade - They Hide to Steal Your Money Over Time
Easy to sign up and not at all straightforward to cancel policy. They will avoid notifying you at all in the hopes you forget about your recurring payments.
Lemonade - Broad “preexisting condition” denials
Lemonade is just as bad as other companies when it comes to denying claims around what they call “preexisting conditions,”

I have filed multiple complaints with the California Department of Insurance against Lemonade for repeated violations of claim-handling regulations.
Lemonade - Too much AI, not enough transparency
This is a service that would do perhaps do well in an emergency situation - not an everyday service that supposed to helps pay for the incredibly high cost of simple vet visits. Although the app and website were claiming to simplify the process and cut the unnecessary legalese, actually I couldn't do anything independently without talking to their AI Bot to ask for help. It led to clunky service, comparable to calling my bank's service center just because I need to find out what my balance is. Why can't I find out on the website when is my coverage ending? what is the current state of my deductible?
Lemonade - Not very customer friendly.

Lemonade - Unauthorized Policy Charge and Poor Customer Service Response
I was incorrectly charged for a year-long insurance policy I did not authorize. When I contacted the company, they initially couldn’t explain the charge. Later, they called and claimed the policy was canceled one day late, so they would charge me for that day and refund the rest. However, I had canceled the policy well in advance and did not renew it, so their explanation makes no sense. I even have a confirmation email proving the cancellation was on time, but they insisted it was canceled a day later. The amount I lost was only a few cents, so I’m not overly concerned about the refund (which I still haven’t received), but this experience has completely undermined my confidence in this company’s reliability. I’m deeply disappointed and hesitant to continue relying on their services.
