Lemonade - Homeowner's not worth it. Go with a one of the major players.
I knew they weren't traditional as a company and that customer service would be a hassle, so while that is a negative that's not my main problem. First, after one year of having homeowners they increased my premium without notifying me. I thought there might be legitimate reasons so I reached out. After finally hearing back and reading the paperwork, I noticed they had made changes to the details of my home (i.e. adding a bathroom, adding a garage, things like that). When I pointed that out to them they said they would make the corrections, but that wasn't what was causing the increase. Ok, I bit the bullet with the increase because it was still a little cheaper than others (and communication with them was a pain). Then, two years later I get a notice that I need to do a self inspection (basically take pictures of the house and send to them). After submitting everything they take forever to review, just to come back and say they won't renew my policy! Literally nothing has changed, but they won't renew. Jokes on them though, because I already found cheaper coverage with a reputable company. While it was annoying what they did, they did me a favor. Don't go with them. Saving a few bucks a year isn't worth it.
Lemonade - I would give Lemonade a -5 if that was possible
I would give a -5 if that was possible. Don't be fooled by how easy it is to sign up for insurance. The true test is when you have to file a claim. They made a mistake and a few months ago and dropped the additional coverage I had on an item since 2019. I filed a claim when I recently lost the item only to be told that my it was removed from my policy because I had filed a claim. How did they remove it in November for a claim that happened months after that? They must have a clairvoyant on payroll. They never send me the new policy. All I can say is that every claim that I have ever made with them from a leaking ceiling that destroyed some furniture to missing jewlery has been denied. To think of how much I have paid in insurance over the last 6 years.
Lemonade - Lemonade pet insurance is a scam
This company is a money grabbing scam! They look for any reason to deny claims. Their first option/choice is to deny the claims and have you dispute it. If your pet vomits or has an ear infection and 3 months vomits or gets an ear infection again they will deny it and say it’s pre-existing. This personally happened to me so I cancelled them.
Lemonade - Lemonade will find a way to deny your claim
My dog hit his head hard enough on the windshield of the car to break it. I called an emergency vet and Lemonade's own online vet service (through Chewy) to see if I should take him to a vet. They both said yes. I specifically asked the vet I texted with through Lemonade if this would be covered. She said it would be because my plan covered accidents and illnesses. This seems like the definition of an accident to both of us. Lemonade denied the claim saying I had not paid for the plan that covers vet consultations. This just makes me think they will figure out how to deny just about anything. (It was only $200 and it would have simply counted toward my deductible. I have never made a claim with them before.)
Lemonade - If you want to cancel your insurance…
If you want to cancel your insurance renewal it's impossible. Close your account down-impossible. They hook you in but good luck getting out. Shocking app and website - Trading standards needs to look at it because there is no standard here just dodgy tactics
Lemonade - Started off well, ended badly
Originally I loved lemonade and used them for home and pet insurance.
Lemonade - As with all insurance companies
As with all insurance companies, Lemonade is dropping my home in California even though my policy doesn’t expire till November. They stated they would cover all but fire and to use the fair plan from California. When I researched this, I asked them what my policy would now cost me without fire. They responded back that they won’t cover me at all, after stating they would. It’s just about the dollar to them. I would never use them again, even as I am planning on moving. I suggest you move on from them.
Lemonade - Amazing at Closing Claims Without Paying a Dime!Looking for an insurance company that…
I now understand why it’s called “Lemonade” — because this whole process has been SOUR.
Lemonade - Terrible customer service, avoid if possible
Terrible customer service. I was hit by one of their customers and it's a nightmare trying to get the car fixed and a rental car. It is days before hearing back from emails. The check was somehow sent to an incorrect address and took a month to find out why. You get what you pay for and this company must be the cheapest insurance option available because they have the worst customer service I've ever experienced.
Lemonade - Insurance company unreachable
Insurance company unreachable. The only way to contact them is by message, and the response time is very long, if not nonexistent. I have a leak at home and I haven't heard from them for 3 days despite my reminders. Run away from this insurance company that leaves you alone to face your problem.
