We paid ~$60/mo for nearly two years for our young, healthy dog with no claims. When we finally had our first minor incident - exactly what our policy was supposed to cover - Lemonade found enough loopholes in the fine print of the contract to avoid paying nearly anything for the claim. They tried to argue that the emergency evaluation was an "office visit" which wasn't covered in our policy. Using this interpretation, we'd be on the hook for $250 on every vet visit before any coverage kicked in - which is effectively a $250 deductible PER CLAIM on top of the $500 yearly deductible we already pay. In the end, they covered less than 20% of our emergency bill, on a 90% coverage policy. When we tried to appeal, they were slow to respond and unhelpful. This company is dishonest, greedy, and not worth choosing in a sea of competitors.

I can't recommend Lemonade for Pet Insurance. They have sent my wife and I around in circles despite having a fully paid policy on a very basic claim that the policy clearly covers. The email support has nitpicked multiple forms of proof needed for the claim every time we send what they are asking for. It is shocking that you pay hundreds of dollars for Pet Insurance and then the insurer to put you through hell to make the smallest claim, even after providing the information they asked for.

The company is a rip off. They promise that their rates pay per mile model is unique, most convenient, digitally accessible, however they are worse than even the worst in the market. They increased my car insurance in 6months by 56% on the rate/mile and another 44% on the base rate. It's very easy to get misled with their payment model, that charges you a fixed price and over that a ridiculously high pay/mile rate, both of which they can change anytime.

Terrible claims experience. Took them weeks to process a single claim and then rejected it. Could have rejected it in a day or so. For pet insurance I recommend folks use American kennel club which will cover preexisting conditions after 1 year of coverage. Lemonade claims does everything it can to scam you out of reimbursement, including counting unrelated symptoms as “preexisting”. If your pet has ever thrown up before, every future case where they throw up will not be covered, even for completely different causes / illnesses. Terrible company tbh

Terrible customer service from Lemonade for home contents insurance. Quick enough to take the premiums and increase their prices year on year, yet when you need to make a genuine claim they take weeks to process and then proceed to make you feel like a criminal for submitting a claim, then don’t pay out. Needless to say I have cancelled my insurance, they don’t deserve another penny from me. Avoid !

Terrible insurance company. They literally changed their language on their policy in such a way that its vague enough they don't have to pay for squat. Their app proudly displays you are covered for water damage, and a few years back their policy clearly stated that if it was damage behind the walls you couldn't possibly be aware of it was covered, since there would be no way for an owner to be aware of it util symptoms show. Fast forward to today and basically if your pipe or shower leaks and you don't catch within a couple of weeks they deny your claim. What a total scam. Insurance is there for this very purpose, big items that may catch an owner by surprise and cost a lot to fix. It is a useless company, except at taking your money.

The Lemonade app (where they force you to do everything) is as helpful as an app from the 1800s. The irony to me is that they literally have “Lemon” in their name and I can assure you this is one.

Shitty insurance company.

Did a credit search on me when I've never even heard of this company. Apparently, they are somehow linked to the Legal and General Group. You'd think these big insurance companies would understand GDPR regulation by now...

The claim handling was excellent, but the payout has not been received and tainted the entire experience. Where's my check?
