They are quick and efficient but their prices have been increasing drastically throughout the years and I barely use it.
Lemonade - Pet insurance - rapid and large rate increases
Bought pet insurance for my cat. Initially it was $23/month, then jumped to $49, then jumped again 1yr later to $71. Cancelling and switching to another reputable and established company that’s back in the $20-40 range.
Lemonade - Be careful with start date when setting up policy
I signed up two pet policies. The start date change button was grayed out so it did not allow for any date except the following date which is standard. I immediately emailed and was sent a link to change the date. The link did not work. So, I am being forced to pay for two policies for two additional months. I had no less than 10 emails and they would not admit their error or help me in any way. Worst customer service that I have ever experienced.
Lemonade - No reimbursement
I've been with Lemonade five years. One claim in 2021 and one within the past month. Premium doubled in 2024 due to cats age. Claim this month was approved and applied to my deductible. I needed a reimbursement since funds are tight. Called them on 5/7 to see if claim funds could be applied to monthly payment - was told I would be contacted by escalation team within 1-2 business days. Have not heard back and monthly charge was deducted today. Buyers beware of their process - can work for some, but see no value in this company anymore.
Lemonade - Completely inflexible / poor customer service
Cancelled my renters insurance without any form of warning due to an expired credit card. I updated the credit card and asked to continue to which they replied I needed to fill in an entirely new application. Literally no heads up at all just cancelled reapply. No human could take my messages after several attempts. Gave up. Was with them for 5 years and then bc their service was so poor looked at alternatives and realized they have been overcharging me as well. Won't consider going back. Garbage product, garbage service, price is a rip off.

Lemonade refused to honor their policy regarding neutering. They claim it's covered in my policy, but refused to re-imburse me for neutering costs. Fought with them for weeks. I canceled my Lemonade policy.
Lemonade - Common Symptoms Became a Permanent Exclusion
After purchasing Lemonade Pet Insurance for my dog, I quickly discovered serious limitations in their coverage. Following the waiting period, I took my dog for a checkup and honestly reported she had experienced occasional episodes of vomiting during the previous month. The vet concluded it was likely GERD, and we went on our way with a recommendation of OTC Omeprazole once daily with food.
Lemonade - Unacceptable Delay in Renters Claim by Lemonade
I am disappointed with the handling of my renters insurance claim. I chose Lemonade based on strong recommendations from friends, but my experience has been far from what I expected.
Lemonade - STAY AWAY FROM LEMONADE INSURANCE!
Stay away from this insurance company! After the ordeal we have had with this company I checked them out online and they have many many class action suits against them , a bunch of which have already paid out millions to their customers. My husband and I had homeowners insurance with Lemonade. We had problems with sewage going into our basement. It was extremely hard to contact anyone as they use customer service in other countries,and some could not understand English that well. When I was finally able to put a claim in. we received an email from our adjuster, Jackie, who stated we could call her. It took 2 two weeks of emails and phone messages with no replies. Finally Jackie called and I explained the situation. I then found out that they purposely do not contact you so they can say you have to report this problem within seven days of when it happened or Lemonade can’t pay for any damages. It took so long for them to contact me that of course the issue happened a month prior to them communicating with me. Also, our plumber came a couple of times and said we would have to dig up our property to put new pipes in. Of course, a couple of weeks went by due to us trying to fix the situation with our plumber. Also, truthfully, there was an issue with our emails not getting to her but I kept calling Jackie and leaving messages. I was not allowed to speak with a supervisor. Jackie finally called me to say that seven days have passed so they could not do anything to help us. I told her I had been emailing and leaving messages and she said I did not get your emails or any messages at all. She said to me, “I never got any phone calls from you.” Then I told her, Jackie, we both know that smart phones keep records of who you call, who made the call and how long the call is. She then became irate saying that she makes a lot of phone calls back to back and doesn’t have time to answer phone calls. She’s such a liar and there is no one else I could speak to and let them know of the issues I was having with Jackie. I also asked her to give me the paragraph number from our policy that states our claim had to be within seven days of the start of the problem because I had looked at our policy and there was nothing that said that. Well, of course, Jackie could not substantiate her lie of the seven day issue. She then sent a copy of some other verbiage from our policy that had nothing to do with the seven day lie. Shortly after declining our claim, Lemonade sent us a letter of non-renewal. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! You pay for no appropriate service after years of being a good customer and paying all bills on time!
