Customer service is horrible as they want you to do their job for them. I send them the information they need and it's not good enough. I tell them THEY have to be the ones to call the vet to get the information I have already sent them and they refuse to do it. This is just 1 of the issues.
Lemonade - This company is a scam
This company is a bunch of crooks. My wife put in three claims, over 700.00 worth. The first one they settled at approximately 110.00, the second one is in review for over a month now, with a bunch of mistakes on their part, still waiting for settlement and the third one they declined it for 212.00, with no explanation posted. While they continue to collect 93.56 a month for the last 6 months and continue to take this payment out of my account, they do these long reviews to make sure they get the maximum out of your account, before they decide two months later to settle or deny the claim. These trust pilot reviews are over inflated. Do yourself a favor and go to a more reputable company, with simple processing and honesty. They are doing fraud and we are having our attorney take a good look at this. They think they are slick but my attorney will pick them apart.
Lemonade - refused to turn off Auto-Renew…
They refused to turn off the Auto-Renew feature on my policy which resulted in double-charging me and taking many hours and several days of my time to rectify!
Lemonade - Home insurance - a no
I had lemonade for 4 years and thankfully I never had to use them. They’re moving out of my state (nj) and instead of telling me the truth that they can’t cover me because of that, they lied and said that my roof wasn’t up to par based on a photo I sent them (which makes no sense because my roof is new) they’re liars and scammers with too good to be true premium rates. Lucky I got out when I did. You’ll be in better hands with the bigger companies who actually pay out in an emergency (and not just the bare minimum)
Lemonade - Not for pets with existing conditions
We have a dog that had a pre existing condition prior to the policy. The condition was a birth defect that we had surgically corrected outside of the policy. I am leaving a negative review because they found a way to tie any claim back to the pre-existing condition to deny paying. This may be a good company and policy if your pet has a perfect medical history when you get the policy. Reasons for denying were that the symptoms are related to the pre-existing condition which would be true if the defect were still present and not surgically corrected.

No way does this insurance have low insurance costs. I have a perfect driving record and they want to charge me $100 more a month for insurance than what I currently pay

I had to pay over $1,000 and they only helped with 300 dollars?! That isn’t 80% covered and I pay nearly $50 dollars monthly. Super disappointed!

Insurance premium went up 30% and when I asked why my premium went up the customer service rep it’s due to inflation and cost. Most insurance should be giving customers loyalty for sticking with them and insurance rates shouldn’t be going up 30%. Such a significant increase.
Lemonade - Hard to connect with a human
They are impossible to work with. Everything is so automated with digital phone agents, SMS and chatbots that trying to get anything done is extremely difficult. Save your time, find another insurer.
Lemonade - AVOID homeowners insurance
Lemonade is dropping my homeowners insurance coverage because of “tree proximity” and “water heater age”. All of this after requiring hours of work to provide photos and documentation to them. Awful experience working with the customer service team. The tech and the app is appealing but they will kick you to the curb as soon as they can.
