My 5yr old Rottweiler Harli had blood in urine and the Vet tech answered after about 6 min and asked a few questions and recommended I take her in to my vet for a check up. I was really worried and it was nice to have someone there to discuss her symptoms. I was very worried.
Pawp - Rip-off
Rip-off. I had a documented emergency with my cat, Sam, on August 24, 2021. I experienced a video approved emergency with my cat, Emma, on 12/25/2021. Pawp would not cover the expenses because it had paid $395.00 to pay for Sam’s expenses on 8/24/2021. The customer service representative explained that you are entitled to only one emergency payment per year, regardless of how much of the supposed $3,000 annual coverage you actually use. Quite a money maker for Pawp

I thought every thing was okay until I could not access the conversation. Being my first time using Pawp and just loosing Pancho I was already on our way to the vet when the doctor said “go to the vet”. Thinking this was an authorization to “go to the vet” I had already maxed out on care credit, scratch pay etc and all our other insurance with our ER visits with Pancho so this was a valid wait of 3 days with Gracie. Not my first pet. Anyway, now at 735pm I learned that I have pay.

Very disappointed that I do not get access to my emergency fund, waited a while for response on support. If you’re going to offer an emergency fund you should allow people to use it

My dog has been sick for over a week with vomiting and diarrhea daily. She has lost a good amount of weight in just a few days. The vet on pawp recommended withholding food and water 24 hours and if she didn't get better call them back. She didn't get better and I called and all they did was tell me to take her to a vet. No emergency because she wasn't going to die within 4 hours. Don't waste your money on this scam
Pawp - Caveat Emptor - expect techs, not vets.
Service is fine, unless you expect a veterinarian be available at any point. I can tell you that when I used the telehealth service in Sept of 2021, a person answered the "chat" and never identified themselves with anything other than a name, but it turns out they were a tech, not a vet. I was looking for a second opinion for a medical condition, which this service IS identified as providing, and the person gave a second opinion, but as a tech, all without identifying as such. They have now changed the "names" to identify a title so you know its not a vet, but apparently you won't find a vet online - this is important as if you tell the system you have an emergency, a tech is deciding whether or not it's an emergency and whether or not you get your funds. Keep that in mind, especially if you're expecting them to be there. I understand a tech can tell me if I have a dog with a broken leg that it's an emergency, but does the tech know the difference in cluster seizures vs multiple seizures in the same day? One is an emergency, the other isn't.
Pawp - Read the fine print and don’t trust anyone
I canceled my membership back in November due to a loss in income and not being able to afford it anymore. I was given a free month and thought that my policy would be canceled after said free month. Wrong. I was just charged for ANOTHER month after I had thought it was canceled. I contacted support and explained what happened and was told that the policy was canceled today by customer support and they would not be issuing a refund due to the fact that there was no record of me asking to cancel. However I have both screenshots AND email receipts of the conversation I had with a support rep. I told the rep of this and told them I wanted for someone to call me so that I could speak to someone instead of messages and I had to do this two or three times before the rep just issued me a refund and I instituted I wanted to speak to someone, and the reps response was “ I just said your refund request has been processed. 😊”. Ridiculous that you can’t even speak to someone on the phone. If I knew it was going to be this difficult to cancel and be misled and just been rude to I would not have signed up for this insurance. Edit: Finally got ahold of someone and they were able to clarify the miscommunication however I will not be going back to this company.
Pawp - Call for advise what to do
Was a bit disappointed with response to call was for me to call poison control WHO quickly stated for me to call the vet.
